You are a lifesaver man thank you!
No problem 👍
Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Fab, many thanks for this. I have a slightly sticky rear brake on a mk7 GTD and need to investigate. Quite happy to do the mechanicals but not worked on a car with an electronic handrake before. This has given me loads of tips to investigate and see if anything's not right and work out the problems without messing up. Thanks!
Need to go and dig out the wind back tool. 🤔

Thanks for the video! Before doing the start lining change mode in VCDS, do I have to manually release the handbrake?
Yes, release the handbrake via the park brake button before starting lining change mode.
Perfeito! Me ajudou muito!
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Hi !! With this version of vcds i can change brake pads in new cars with SFD ??
We haven't had an opportunity to test this yet. Probably a question for Ross tech forum.
Today I set my parking brake and when I returned to my vehicle to leave the brake would not disengage. There are no errors on the instrument cluster and everything appears normal. I can tell the parking brake button is still working as when I pull it up and hold for 15 seconds I get a P with a strike through symbol on the instrument cluster until I let the park brake button go. What are the chances this process could retract the parking brake without having to disassemble the parking brake actuator from the caliper and putting power direct from a battery to the connector on the actuator? I'd prefer to use the VCDS software.. but lots of videos showing how to do it without doing that.
Hi Emanuel, firstly we would recommend that you connect your vehicle to a diagnostic computer/VCDS and check that there are no fault codes within the brake system.
The process in the video is the correct way to retract your park brake actuator as recommended by the vehicles manufacturer, as long as there are no other issues with your braking system this will work for you.
A few suggestions for you....
Check that you can hear the actuator working when you retract the park brake.
Once you've retracted the park brake check that your caliper piston and caliper sliders are not seized.
There's also another video on our Channel that may help you.

@@DropTheBoxOfficial strangely, I came to the car today, started it and disengaged the parking brake and it worked. After a few hours yesterday it did not resolve itself, but an overnight sleep did. I connected VCDS and found the button itself is faulty.
