The day you can request anything to be minted is the day you see numismatic value of British coinage tumble.

Does anyone else watch to his videos only to listen to his calming voice? It doesnt get any more British-ish than his!

Fascinating video. I imagine the bodeleian library had that dispensation for educational terms, one of the major advantages of going to Oxford was access to the knowledge in that library. I am surprised at the value of restrikes, the recent engravers series stuns me for the values seen in secondary market. Thanks for the new info and angle of this video

None for me, coz I like my coins to come from their respective periods. Any "re-minting" many years after just doesn't hold the same fascination and awe.

This truly is a “head scratcher.” It would probably take years for me to make my mind up as to which coins I would choose. To be able to pick only a half dozen would be nearly impossible. What a great subject for a video Numi!! Excellent food for thought✌️

This would be great idea for collectors, but not so good for the value of the existing coins!!
But if possible, I would like a first strike proof Gothic crown!!

With the letters to support the existence of those particular Terner Collection coins, why shouldn’t they be graded as unique restrikes? They were not minted until years later, yet have previous dates from original dies. Just a thought... Granted, they are all gorgeous pieces that I would love to have in my own collection!

That's a real toughie. How about that old sovereign that was reproduced some years back I think it had a Tudor coat of arms on its back. I know the replica has gone up in value.

even though i don;t have any rarities i would feel bad for the astute collectors for the value of their holdings would dive and that's painful! but i will get 5 guinea coins, all crowns, una and the lion, gothic crown esp, three graces . sovereigns and halves are too small to spark joy in my heart, lol)

A wonderful fantasy until the owners of the originals start to rebel. If they had an identifying privy, they could sell quite a few, I suspect.

Historically they minted coins to order even after 50 years if the dies were good.
