It's crazy how much money some Boomers are holding. They buy houses just to have a low-risk place to park money. The rent they charge covers all the taxes and upkeep with a little profit to spare. Back in the day. I and some friends dabbled in the human trafficking game in Tijuana. We would be amazed on how many illegal immigrants they would let thru. I have personally seen, boder patrol, call off catching a group of illegal immigrants. I know of a CBT Agent that just smiled and let us thru. It's amazing what some officials know. It's not that dark or cynical in my believe. I don't think that an "agenda" is being pushed. I don't even believe that they even are aware of the situation. I believe it's a "thought" and it's affect. Someone just "thought" that it would be nice to have cheap labor. Friends just hanging out. Having a, whatever, conversation about how much money they save. Another random person, has that same thought because he needs help with the lawn. That person that is hiring cheap labor can be someone with some power. His, also powerful, friend also hires cheap labor.. It all trickles down and it comes to a point that a "thought" became an action. The government know about it but not really. Shit happens 🤷

I’m okay with companies buying homes if they put their employees there so they can have somewhere affordable to live. Used to be some companies paid to have suburbs developed to give their employees somewhere to live. Some companies even had buying plans where part of your salary was taken out in return for the home, and after say 10 years you owned the home/had the title signed over to you. This was a win-win because it incentivized people to stay with the company long term while not having to pay ridiculous mortgages.

It's finally becoming a major political issue up here in Canada, as the boomers are slowly dying off and the younger generations are pissed at the blatant mismanagement of the housing supply.
@@strangestecho5088 It has always been a political issue and housing here has been very expensive for over a decade. This was because of several factors like the outrageous amount of time it takes to get a permit, building regulations that continue to get more complicated every year, labor shortages, the huge amount of taxes developers have to pay, material price increases and interest rate hikes. But those problems are being completely overshadowed by the newest/biggest problem, massive migration. Canada grew by 1.2 million last year and a little over 1 million this year just from migration alone. To house these people and to make up for the existing shortage we need to be building at least 400K-500K units a year and we are currently building less than half of that and the housing starts for next year will be much lower because builders/developers are pumping the brakes and shelving projects due to the economy/interest rates. If you think housing is expensive now just wait another decade, it will be at least double what it is today.
Boomers had it easy in every anglosphere country, in New Zealand my dads mate who worked in the freezing works (factory for chopping up and storing lamb) brought a holiday home on a river just outside of Queenstown (kind of like Aspen for Americans), massive section with a holiday house literally could fish from his property. Place is worth at least 2 million today, probably more like 5. This is a guy that worked in a factory, lucky to pay rent now if you have a family. Even my dad who left school at 13 brought his first home at 25 and worked at the same place, we had holidays twice a year, 2 cars, always food and clothes etc etc. So yes boomers had it the easiest out of every generation. The same generation that ushered in globalism and outsourcing to China.

It's crazy how much money some Boomers are holding. They buy houses just to have a low-risk place to park money. The rent they charge covers all the taxes and upkeep with a little profit to spare. We, working age adults, buy houses so we won't end up homeless someday. We'll need money from the sale to cover the nursing homes we'll later die in.

Influential but out of touch.
Really love when Tim Dillon is on. The perfect balance of comedy, doses of reality & ugly truths vs. beautiful lies.

It's finally becoming a major political issue up here in Canada, as the boomers are slowly dying off and the younger generations are pissed at the blatant mismanagement of the housing supply.
and vote down any new building projects especially social housing

@@ravemaster7405 I think you’re thinking of the H-2A visa program but they aren’t illegal immigrants. They’re here legally for farm labor. Illegals immigrants outnumber those here on the H-2A

Lol
That is by Jeff Bezos, it is actually real I saw it on Lex podcast
strong that they really made it possible. Joe was talking about it earlier, you guys shoulda know
He’s right about Miami … I’ve been living downtown next to a few projects and 10000% that 90% of them are from Cuba.
Tim Dillon is a genius. He just gets it. Hes very rarely wrong or really out of line this dude is goated. 13:30
Nothing makes me happier than thinking Tim Dillon will become one of our greatest philosophers to look back on after the collapse
You need to be parasocial to think this would ever be a thing lol.
Bars that low?
This guy is so clueless, Theo Von has a higher chance of being a philosopher 😂
cheap labor destroys the economy and increases the low income classes so a few remain with more power

I love Rogan’s vast amount of knowledge about the coolest stuff.
Downtown West Palm Beach, too. At least 10 new residence towers have gone up in the last 3 years. At least 4 more under construction right now. They just demolished the IMAX theater center including the IMPROV in downtown.
I’m glad someone is finally talking about this. It sends a ripple effect through the entire employment market and ultimately effects all business sectors.
USA needs to be single for a while lol.
People have been talking about this for a very long time, California farmers have been exploiting this business practice for years. That's why there's always a problem with illegals from Mexico going on. Rogan knows this but is acting like it's a real head scratcher!

Not really bud
We're in the last days of the empire
I agree😂!
Tim Dillon is brilliant!
I haven't seen Tim Dillon for 2 years after watching him weekly, can't help but notice that he seems like a husk of what he once was.

As a born and raise Arizonian it’s shocking someone doesn’t know everything is built by illegal immigrants
Yes, in a right to work state, but not in union states. They don’t allow illegals. And the construction in AZ looks like it.
hahaha fucking az is literally built from and
Constructions and agriculture are mostly done by illegals and this is not just here. Pretty much anywhere in the world you go You will see illegals doing those works because they are really hard works but they don't pay much.
They built things because it’s cheap labor. Construction is seasonal. What happens in the other months?

Crazy thing about housing
I bought my house in 2019 for 94,000 in 2023 it’s 172,000
I’ve basically done no updating just clean and repair some small issues.
Crazy to me
Tim is one of my top 3 favorite guests on your podcast. Admittedly, I sometimes go months without listening to your show but if I see Tim has been on, you better believe I'm listening to the whole episode RIGHT NOW. I laughed until tears during the boomer rant! He should be at least a monthly guest. I need more TD on JRE!
Rogan’s guests have become very boring, with the exception of a few, Dillon is one of these.
🎯
He had Tim and Joey Diaz on in the past week He's goin back to his roots!!! I haven't watched him in years but searching for these two episodes
Same here I love him Dillion
These problems in America are in Canada, but it's 10x worse in Canada.
Toronto avg Salary 57K, (37K after tax) average rent for one bedroom, $2600
Same here in Australia.
10x isnt even an exadgeration. We let in the same amount of immigrants as the USA with only a tenth of the population.
Canada put their milk in bags. You have bigger issues than housing.
Nova scotia , av income 33k av 1 bed apartment 1900. Literally 100 dollars more than what that person takes home. Mass immigration. Not-one entry level job employs Canadians.
A huge amount of foreclosures coming . No where to find a rental. No infrastructure to accomidate the.mass.imigration.
Tent cities popping up everywhere.
And the mouth breathing masses are more concerned with sports and the Kardashians
USA doesn't count them anymore.
Love Tim ❤
My wife and I are bringing in 135k a year and it is not even feasible to buy a home right now for our family. Mortgages that would’ve been 1600-2000 a month a few years ago cost 4k+ now
My family has a condo in south FL, and literally every single worker painting the entire building is illegal. Not one single one speaks even a lick of English. This is real.
Stop it i do
I’m in Cali and I’ve worked jobs where most of the managers and workers don’t speak any English and then judge you when you don’t speak Spanish, ridiculous
And it bothers your spirit so much
@@oddfuturediego no it doesn’t bother me at all, they work their arses off, even women out there working in the hot sun painting. I fully support legal, documented immigration. Especially for people who are willing to work jobs that others won’t. I just believe the border should be secure.
