What do you mean? People forget what p2w really means. That you can buy items only with real money and that is not the case in Lost Ark or T&L. Besides some people need to play the game, because to buy gold in Lost Ark, someone must sell his gold. So if nobody plays the game, nobody can cash to pay to progress himself.

Gear dosent matter if you are 200 People more than your opponent.

So far I haven't got any growth stones by dissolving. You sure you can actually get growth stones from there? Tried it yesterday but none of the items I dissolved gave anything important.
Dissolving a piece of equipment only gives you a small amount of one of the upgrade stone materials, which is a very easy powder to obtain by making contracts and is obtained in large quantities, breaking items to obtain an item that is not difficult to obtain is a nonsense
In WoW you pay 15 bucks a month plus any expantion thats 50 bucks and on top of that you can buy tokens with 20 bucks to get tons of gold, and with that gold buy boosts. People are ok with WoW... why is people overreacting over this game being p2w? Because its korean? Thats kinda racist

no one is struggling for sollant? You get 100-140k per hour in the level TWENTY open dungeon. Level 45 dungeon gives you 80k per run... By the time you finish the story quest and some leveling guide quests your well above 1mil sollant while still in green gear and some blues from the quest.. to transfer a +9 blue armor piece to a purple piece of gear it cost 300k. to transfer a weapon its about 900k. Youll have that money before you even have the purple gear unless ofcourse you die alot cause regaining ur exp back for like 20-30k each lol. Deaths in dungeons dont count towards this. I'm currently full Blue gear at +8/+9 and 3 purple pieces @ +6 with full epic skills. But with that being said I did spend 20 usd for the leveling guide pass that rewards you with extra mats per level.

Didn't watch the video yet but uhm.... like people were crying about P2W in Lost Ark, yet the only logical and only sane situation where p2w matters is PvP and it didn't matter in Lost Ark. So someone yelling p2w doesn't mean that p2w matters, at all.
I think that any time a game gives you the option to pay real life currency to progress your character meaningfully (i.e. gear, leveling boosts, upgrade materials, etc), that is a pay to win system by definition. The question then becomes, to what degree is something pay to win? The latter, I think, is the more important question to be having since the former is already answered.
Question is how long will that bottleneck hold. Don't think any game had issues during start when everyone is a fresh max lvl. It's about how the game evolves later and if you can pay to catch up with day 1 players that is the potential issue.
I had some hope but after watching this video the P2W is going to impact this game so hard i didn't think it would be this bad rip; early people won't notice but as the game progresses it will snowball. Just the fact that pvp deaths effect you will be a death blow and since the game is so based on guilds many will drop this game quickly.
I can stand with p2w gear and shit but litterally making death penalties for ANY death that isnt pve give permanent debuff that can be taken away only by p2w currency is bullshit. You can talk about Lineage 2 which had something similar but you could use your adena to buy the scroll and remove the debuff, you litterally didnt have to swipe your credit card every 20 deaths to remove it. If thats how its going to be (atleast thats what i understood) this game is meant to die.
The death penalty thing sounds interesting to me. I wonder if they will have something like "Life Insurance" , like ragnarok online. Where you If the character dies within the 30 minutes duration, no loss of EXP will be made. So far I'm really hype to play this game once it's released in the west, I don't really mind anything else so far that you've mentioned. I'm sure AGS may change somethings on our version.
the death penalty shouldn't even be a thing, there isn't even a death penalty in lost ark. This literally makes it so people only go ranged characters so they can just run away with more ease when more mobs aggro on them
In pvp you will die more than 25 times for sure. And if each time you do less damage. Means just get into PVP at the end when the rest of players have the debuff

I like what I see. I think it suck that we can't avoid pay to win but at least what we have currently is somewhat acceptable. But we won't know the answer until the game is release.
Domt agree with the take on gear p2w gear progression not being a big deal as the hardest part is getting the drop. Solents are easy enough to farm and can do contracts for the other mats. Also another huge P2W is alot of your progression comes from skill upgrades. You can straight buy the harder mat to obtain of the two with real money. The game will fail massively if it releases in NA as it stands. He states its just like lost ark but in lost ark you atleast have equal arenas. Try doing events in TL with all the whales when more then half the events are forced pvp and also lose xp when you die. To regain said xp before the debuff you have to spend ridiculous in game currency.
Every event have also Peace time. P2w is nothing here right now. I was 50 in 8 days with main story payed nothing and got great gear. Contracts are here the thing + selling at the auction.

Is lucent obtainable via game play? If so it's more like gw2 if you wanna spend money spend it but I'm assuming all those things in the marketplace are obtainable via gameplay by yourself

Game barely came out my guy. And the NA market might be different. I played Aion Online (NC soft) for what, 8 years. P2W significantly changed for the worse over the years. PLENTY of time for the shop to change...plenty and it WILL change likely for the worse. It's a KRMMO, P2W is 100% expected. It's part of life. I'm still keen on trying this out regardless.
I completely agree, if you are gona keep players safer preventing open world pvp and even the karma system (or PK/Skull systems), a costly death at least will keep PVE more interesting. People who die in PVP should be completely aware they are risking money for the rewards.

I'm quite sure I'm looking at some timestamp on the death menu, with timers like "9 days" and so on. I believe the penalty will be removed with time if the player doesn't have the currency to remove it right away (meaning, I believe it's not actually permanent).
For Korea maybe, but the west will be botted on af just like Lost Ark if they don't put the right prevention systems in place. Bots and rmt ruined Lost Ark more for me than homework did.
there is no such utopy of totally free-to-play game without any kind of PTG. The model in this game is closer to black desert than anything else... you can buy but if you want pay to WIN, youll have to pay a lot ! this keeps things in a more reallistic set up for people to invest in the game without breaking the balance unless you are loaded and at the end this will be beneficial for free players because they will be paying to keep the game alive for them.
its a mmo so if you want to keep up with the rest you gotta be a degen, but to answer your question they are every 1-2hours and world dungeons you can do trough out the day.
Right now, this P2W system one of the best i ever seen, for last 10 years MMORPG gaming. I Hope they not add loot box and collection staff with bonus stats. Right now this is awesome, im full F2P player, have arround 4k lucent just from free drops. You can also craft gear and if you got lucky 20% chance to craft with great succes so you can sold item from auction. Every hour you spent in game, you got rewarded, so you can try compite with some P2W players.
Also about dying penalty system, you have 3 FREE penalty remove every day, also if you in guild, you have special currency, to remove penalty not from solanta, but from recovery tickets. Hope EURO SOON.

its pay to win, a level one can buy those base high end gear and equip them and it has high stats, similar to lvl 5 blue gear, then you will be like level 40 character with high stats and damage as level 1, then farm contract and upgrade the resources and then you can upgrade those high end gear, but what you need it a group to do it faster as solo will take time
ye wtf, WoW back then was the first mmorpg to remove death penalty (other than running to corpse) and it is one of the reasons it became so popular. Nobody wants to have their time wasted except the 1% of hardcore players who see this system as a challenge to overcome. Most people just wanna chill and grind a bit, not be stressed out by a game...

Game barely came out my guy. And the NA market might be different. I played Aion Online (NC soft) for what, 8 years. P2W significantly changed for the worse over the years. PLENTY of time for the shop to change...plenty and it WILL change likely for the worse. It's a KRMMO, P2W is 100% expected. It's part of life. I'm still keen on trying this out regardless.
I completely agree, if you are gona keep players safer preventing open world pvp and even the karma system (or PK/Skull systems), a costly death at least will keep PVE more interesting. People who die in PVP should be completely aware they are risking money for the rewards.
I really hope AGS doesn't water this game down, this is a feature I want unchanged in the West.

From BiS raid loot drops, afk aoe xp farming, profession leveling and *everything* you would ever need, but they just have to talk about Korean mmos like they're worse than that lmao

7:24 you mention this death debuff, but not how long it lasts or a mechanic to remove it
u had a limit of 20 deaths and then u get the penalty that stays until u go to the npc and removes some deaths
I'm quite sure I'm looking at some timestamp on the death menu, with timers like "9 days" and so on. I believe the penalty will be removed with time if the player doesn't have the currency to remove it right away (meaning, I believe it's not actually permanent).

For Korea maybe, but the west will be botted on af just like Lost Ark if they don't put the right prevention systems in place. Bots and rmt ruined Lost Ark more for me than homework did.

The model in this game is closer to black desert than anything else... you can buy but if you want pay to WIN, youll have to pay a lot !
this keeps things in a more reallistic set up for people to invest in the game without breaking the balance unless you are loaded and at the end this will be beneficial for free players because they will be paying to keep the game alive for them.

its a mmo so if you want to keep up with the rest you gotta be a degen, but to answer your question they are every 1-2hours and world dungeons you can do trough out the day.

Right now, this P2W system one of the best i ever seen, for last 10 years MMORPG gaming. I Hope they not add loot box and collection staff with bonus stats. Right now this is awesome, im full F2P player, have arround 4k lucent just from free drops. You can also craft gear and if you got lucky 20% chance to craft with great succes so you can sold item from auction. Every hour you spent in game, you got rewarded, so you can try compite with some P2W players.
Also about dying penalty system, you have 3 FREE penalty remove every day, also if you in guild, you have special currency, to remove penalty not from solanta, but from recovery tickets. Hope EURO SOON.
Its P2W, if u play MMORPG, youll understand. And the death penalty is stupid. That makes the P2W system in this game even more terrifying.

its pay to win, a level one can buy those base high end gear and equip them and it has high stats, similar to lvl 5 blue gear, then you will be like level 40 character with high stats and damage as level 1, then farm contract and upgrade the resources and then you can upgrade those high end gear, but what you need it a group to do it faster as solo will take time

ye wtf, WoW back then was the first mmorpg to remove death penalty (other than running to corpse) and it is one of the reasons it became so popular. Nobody wants to have their time wasted except the 1% of hardcore players who see this system as a challenge to overcome. Most people just wanna chill and grind a bit, not be stressed out by a game...
Is not like LA "peon" because you can actually get lucent in game selling items, in Lost ark you can only get them from the pay store

The p2w is not bad but the death penalty and sollant ... gating you from progress is horrible. Also if guild are important peoples gonna run towards the top 10 guild. And if youre not in a guild youre pretty much F, cause being in guild = your life is easier. You get a lazy guild youre F. 😆 Also screeening for members gonna be taken seriously. Sheesh. Game sounds fun , but the more i learn about the game the more it reminds me of other games and reason why I stopped playing it. 😆
Leave for NCSOFT to make PvP focused MMO that punishes death to the point thst you better of not pvp or pvp in zerg. The game also has no pkayer ecanomy. There's no away to trade outside of the market place.
