Since League Of Legends is big in Korea, I can see why ARPGs are popular. I used to play World Of Warcraft as my main MMO, but I have been enjoying Lost Ark as a Western player, but wish Lost Ark content was on the same level in each region like Korea. Also wish the West had a leaderboard like Korea has Loawa as theirs.

Hey. I acutally like the fact that you can buy lucent. It makes the game more relieable for people like me which are willing to grind but just dont have the time for it bcs of reallife stuff going on. People which can spend more than 80 hours a week of playing tell me that if i dont have the time for it in that amount of hours, i should Not play mmorpg... thats unfair in my opinion. For sure the system its not perfect but how many people we spent such an amount of money that you arent able to farm....and to be honest in the end the game will anyway no have such many players most success games have like 10 to 50k players active

Tldr:"we know there is a huge issue with P2W aspect of our game, but -we are trying to find a solution around it- , we don't care"

Let me buy the game for 40 - 80$ or charge me a monthly fee of 15 - 30$ a month for the game and move on, w.e. subscription base or battle pass, remove this p2w stuff. it works and respects all type of players, WOW, FF14, Destiny 2, you want more money, release more content, could be expansions, battle pass, etc.

I agree with you, unironically. My biggest issue with Throne and Liberty is not the P2W, but the lack of character customization. I feel like throughout every technical test, every mage looked the same, every tank looked the same, every ranger looked the same. It got to the point where I was wearing low level gear just to stand out.

No one really expects a company to create me an MMO and not profit from it, but there are tipping points and I do feel that they do not fully understand Western audiences and I thought you did an amazing job on pressing the point, well done to you, most would have caved in your situation. I believe the main or at least one of the main issues is the player base that enables this, if people actually refused to participate (take retail WoW tokens for example) then companies would be forced to review.

dont understand why not make the game cost 60 dollar and sell expansion at 40 +sell skins battlepass they would still make great profit .the reason why in their game buying gold will have huge negative impact xuz the game is pve/pvp focused not just only pve like lost ark .games with pvp have huge impact when they enable p2w

Fully geared and max'd out on gems without swiping once since its official release. I think it is completely doable to enjoy all of the content (I have cleared it all) without paying! Just wanted to update this for everyone watching now.

First of all big respect for going there and speaking up. For me TL is probably just another game it will be fun for a bit then it will be gone cuz players will go away, players like me, like my friends from other mmos, like people in comments. We will go play the game have fun and all, but eventually we will stop having fun like in other games cuz of "unhealthy" p2w. I am old fashioned and actually like to get something in game by playing it not swiping card. These comments will probably won't help buut also won't hurt. If there is small % of chance we can try to do something and making Throne last longer than 3 months like other mmos

idk ima be honest i played on kr servers till 2weeks ago (im from na) and i have had no problem getting lucent selling things via auction house but its nice to know we will get QOL updates immediately but t2+ content later.

As a player in EUW the BDO, I dont consider bdo as p2w, but rather p2f. If you say that TL is less “p2w” than bdo, im quite calm with the monetization. I don't want to say that I support p2w by any means. I really hate all the titles that ncsoft fucked up because of that.

The average European wants to pay 20-50euro one time for a game and have life-time access and no further p2w in the game other than cosmetics and skins-Myself included. I'd nerd out any new mmo if it was a 50euro purchase 1-time and no p2w in the game, but for a wow-like subscription AND p2w inside the game, there's 0% chance ill even TRY the game

Fundamentally, I dont have a problem with this kind of "P2W". 100% player driven economy where NCSoft is the currency is a million times better than Pay-2-Gamble RNG schemes, pay walls you cant get through without swiping your card, and shadow nerfs if you dont pay up. Some players have an abundance of time, but no money, so of course they will be anti-p2w. Some players have ample money but no time, so swiping their cards lets them be competitive with limited playtime. Eliminating P2W entirely would be handing the game over to no-life peasants, and a company cannot survive was a customer base like that. Based on NCSoft history, I would be more concerned with the future of their Battlepass and Premium Subscription schemes, whether they will continue to add more of them to the point where you are forced to spend $100 or more a month in subscriptions.

Give this Project to ArenaNet, and be sure you will get a no p2w and f2p friendly game. But you can pay to look good 😂
