- I tried Korea's newest MMO - Raven II by Netmarble (Mobile & PC) - from character creation to exploring the pay to win. This game was clearly designed with mobile as the priority with a PC client available. Here's my first impressions.

It looked so promising until the gameplay part
It's so frustrating to see a terrible game like this have top tier booba skins worth buying and then log into your average western game to find some stupid pumpkin outfit on the store. Then they'll wonder why they can't make any money.
These skins have 0,0001% drop its worst than the worst gacha you are lucky to get any purple skin after month of playing...
This korean game is top tier casino tbh even quest rewards are randomized... xD

First game bought for Character Creation and Cut-scenes *ONLY* 10/10 Artistry
They gotta hire whoever is doing those cosmetics over at T&L ASAP
Classes not being gender locked is really surprising and a definite edge over the rest of mmorpgs
Now imagine we got game's like this with characters and skins that look really good but with the gacha gambling out of it and having awesome gameplay. If only.

Sorry boss I'm Gen Z, I played Snake 2 on a Samsung slide-up phone as a kid, I didn't even know Snake 1 was a thing. I just looked it up, the Snake is just a solid block, that's crazy dude😂

Great visual, but the auto game mode wtf.
Characters 9/10, cinematics 10/10, costumes 10/10, gameplay 0/10, story 1/10. Pretty much every Korean game out there
why,why we cant have the gameplay,character editor and outfits from korea mmorpgs and not(or at least lesser) the p2w from west mmorpgs and do both?....why we have to suffer.....

because a lot of western MMORPGs are old as fuck and new MMORPGs rarely succeed because they have to contend with the likes of World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars The Old Republic, Runescape, etc
These are also mobile games, so there’s definitely a factor in a possible shorter development cycle. Korean and Chinese studios are REALLY into mobile games, but not full-fledged console and/or PC games. Stellar Blade is one of the only major Korean console games released recently.
Also the art styles of Western MMOs are 1) suffering from being extremely dated- Warcraft is like 20 years old or something, SWTOR coming up on 10 or 11; 2) distinctly cartoonish/adhere to a certain style (Elder Scrolls Online has to adhere to the Elder Scrolls art style, WoW is extremely cartoony, FusionFall was an anime-based style, etc); 3) the art style is not prioritizing sexuality and sensuality like Eastern studios do; rather, the art style is often meant to pair with environmental storytelling, atmosphere and aesthetics.
I gotta say the guy has a point... people playing mobile games, especially like this, are mentally ill.
You compare it to snake but think about it... snake had no autoplay and required you to have some skill while didn't request you to cash in.
I do agree with you, the game looks cool and it could have been a great PC game, if the devs actually wanted but instead they decided to milk the mentally ill people... this is so sad to see what times we live in... gaming used to be so fun....

the first micro second of the game i saw i immediatly knew its going to be absolute garbage it might peek a player base of 500k at launch but in the next 2 weeks it will be at 60 k max then the next 2-3 months it will be at 10k like every mmo that gets released because it seems like they cant make a decent game all they want is that quick money
Really is it that hard to have a game with this look but with a decent story and game play ?! Not top notch just decent :(

i was willing to look past the cheap gimmicky gameplay and everything but autoplay ruins it for me , whats the point
spend all their budget on the character creation and the cut scenes and ran out for the gameplay
Such a shame that these great visuals (especially female models lol) and what would seem like a pretty bad ass MMORPG type of game to be ruined by an auto battler, gatcha, mobile game.

Why do we always have to pick between games that either have gorgeous female character design OR decent gameplay that you pay for once? Can we please have both?
Raven II looks great (the environment too) but there is no "game" here to evaluate. What an absolute waste of development.

You put all this effort into character models, armor designs, the story, the cutscenes, the map design.
And then you make trash gameplay. How?
How is it possible? Do they just have an overabundance of skilled artists and no competent game developers?
