Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is a big box strategy game with miniatures in which gangs fight for control of a city, with the city also being a living part of the game.
1 to 4 players take on the role of ruthless gangs vying for control of the underground in the glittering hellhole that is Night City. Clash with other Gangs in the meat or on the Net, as your enterprising band of toughs seeks to gain dominance over the criminal underworld that rules the streets. Only the boldest will be remembered, and your Street Cred will pave your way to the top.
In Single Player mode, you are pitted against an opposing Gang and an Edgerunner (Johnny or either V's) in a free-for-all for Night City. Similar to the multiplayer mode, the faction with the most Street Cred wins.
In the game, players assume the role of a gang leader, with you organizing your gang members to take power in the city. Your actions affect not only your game and your opponents but the city itself. Each gang has different attributes and goals, giving each player a different gaming experience.

6:34 It's "Gangs of Night City" because Night City is the name of the city. That would be like saying "Gangs of The Cleveland" or "The Seattle"

I really hope you might get to a review or maybe even another filmed playthrough of this game. I feel like the game is more of a gem then it got credits for.

Cyberpunk is the theme/genre. There are a lot of punk genres with cyberpunk and steampunk being the biggest followed by maybe dieselpunk (Scythe).
Solo, techie, netrunner, etc are classes in cyberpunk btw

Night City Tour is a random story gameplay way. There are a few in the core box and every expansion has it’s own one to add. You draw 3 (or 4, don’t remember the exact amount) and shuffle so you have a random setup of gameplay. A bit more randomness then the other ‘fixed’ progression of the stories.

lol, a fair point....I guess I think of Cyberpunk as the IP specifically.
@@BoardGameCo "Cyberpunk" is an actual genre of sci-fi / spec fic writing that was popularized with the publishing of Neuromancer by William Gibson (though I guess it's elements were present before, just not solidified as a theme). It's definitely dystopian, as you thought. Think Judge Dredd, Total Recall, etc.

I'm confused--and somewhat miffed--that the drones and hideouts box is the cheap tuck kind.
Would love to see a game playthrough of it at some point!
A side note about Smart: maybe in the States it's different, but they are definitely still a thing in Europe and not just an experiment XD

I really enjoyed my 2 plays up to now, the only weird thing ive found up to now is that the game seems to end in points much sooner than the stories progression. I think its because we were all too combat focussed which led to points bein given to opponents even when combat is lost. Cant wait to play more to see how it goes
