I hope your channel takes off. No bs, and a dry sense of humor. I enjoy your approach and dedication to a car you have to love to own.

Joe in my humble opinion you installed the gas charged lift pistons on the doors upside down.
While the doors are wide open I prefer to have the oil and nitrogen gas cylinder above the silver rod rather than below it. And you're right the door struts / lift pistons don't last long if in constant use like maybe five years. Then you get droopy doors when it's cold outside.

I don’t think it matters which way they go, but they probably are. I once heard a theory that installing them upside down prolongs the life, but it probably isn’t significant isn’t if at all.
I feel that my doors always droop in the cold. I can either have them rise properly In the cold and over-extend In the summers, or open properly In the summer and drop In the cold. I think that’s just how it’ll be with a passive system like this.

    Are the front lights stock?

They are Hella 4x6 halogen conversion housings for the original sealed-beam lights, similar to these, although I’ve had them for so long I don’t recall the specific variant that I have: amzn.to/3oyekFq I use the same housings for both high and low beams. They’re fairly simple to replace, and they’re glass, so they won’t get sandblasted while driving as easily as cheap plastic ones.
It turns out that there were exactly four choices for headlights before there early ‘80s, so it’s easy to find halogen retrofit kits that work with the DeLorean. Technology Connections did a great video about the reasons behind this: m.czcams.com/video/c2J91UG6Fn8/video.html
I’ve since upgraded the halogen bulbs to LEDs that fit in there same sockets and have a halogen dispersal pattern so that they focus correctly in these housings. They are notably brighter than the halogens, which were brighter than the olds sealed beans. I think it’s a worthy upgrade.

@joeangellx I just bought a delorean and I'm baffled about something. Hopefully you can help. My front right turn signal light/parking light isn't working. Replaced the bulb and still nothing. So I bought the socket with wire and plug from dmc but I can't figure put how to access the plug??? And I can't access it from the front. And don't know where the turn signal wire runs up to. Any help would be great thanks!!!

Just noticed the name on the back is not filled in with brushed stainless letters as the later cars have it
Have you thought about getting this done

I’m on the fence about it. I kinda like the stock look there, but a bunch of guys in the club have the stainless letters too. That said, I did add stainless door sill letters recently, and they do look pretty nice.

@@joeangellx I installed the stainless steel letters after thoroughly cleaning the surfaces with Isopropyl alcohol and wiping dry with a paper towel. The adhesive I used is 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive. Part number 08008. A year later the stainless steel letters were releasing from the plastic bumper and I pulled off two letters with my fingers. The remaining letters came off with a pry tool. The adhesive did not stick to the back side of the stainless steel but did remain stuck to the plastic bumper.
I have not attempted at reinstalling the stainless steel letters and I will reinstall them some day after I have the rear bumper repainted.
