- We had a lot of questions on our twin turbo Delorean videos about where we're able to source OEM parts for this car. We also got a lot of backlash when we cut the fenders up, mainly from people saying "how can you do this to a car you can't get parts for anymore?!" Well you definitely can get parts for these DMC12s. Stephen Wynne has a whole warehouse full of them in Texas! That's because he's the president of DeLorean Motor Company. The car company is alive and well, not only restoring old DeLoreans to their former glory, but working on plans to start releasing new DMC12s too! He takes us around the Houston factory to show us where they restore customer DeLoreans and where they house their boxes and crates of NOS parts! Walking into this DeLorean Motor Company factory is like taking a step back in time as you walk amongst the crates, boxes and parts that once filled the original factory in Dunmurry. We're excited to see what the future of DeLorean has in store for it as Stephen keeps pushing this company forward! The new CEO is awesome, seen him in many videos now and giving interviews. Nice to see a chap with so much drive and passion. Really do wish these guys well.

My dad owned a DMC-12 I learned how to drive in it. I also took my drivers test in it. After my dad passed away it was willed to me however my dads lawyer had a lien on the car and was taken from me. I fought to get the car back even paid what my dad supposedly owed to get the car back. The lawyer refused to give me the car back So I took him to court found out the lawyer obtained the lien illegally and had no rights to own the car. He was order to return the car pay back what I paid to him to get the car back and $30,000 in damages. I still own it. I ls swapped it. I did it with my son and I'll pass it on to my him.
I'm glad you fought hard for it! It would be a shame to let that thing go. Especially with how much it meant to you. And now you get to keep sharing those memories with your son! That's awesome
Dirty lawyer, what a POS
Sometimes a lawyer can be a criminal lawyer, sometimes they are a Criminal Lawyer.
That CEO is the perfect guy for that company no doubt. His passion and his knowledge for the cars is just on point so kudos to him and his staff and nothing but praise.
My aunt and uncle live in Houston. One time about six years ago when I was visiting I asked if we could go check out the DMC factory. We took about a 30 mile ride to go see it and yeah it looks exactly the same today. They had about 20 cars lined up outside and a couple sitting on the "showroom" floor. I asked for permission to sit in one and they said "That's fine-just don't have anything in you back pockets". So that's when I finally got to sit in a Delorean. Got the photos' to prove it.😁 They have the final door assembled in Ireland hanging on the wall signed by all the factory workers. Too bad they didn't show it.
That's awesome! All the guys there are super nice. They have a ton of DeLorean memorabilia in there (well I guess at this point, everything DMC is memorabilia! lol)
I happened upon a car show as I was leaving coming back from the mall where I literally had just gotten a Johnny Lightning BTTF Delorean die cast car when I was a teenager around 2000 and happened to see a fucking Delorean with the gullwing doors popped open from the highway! My friends and I doubled back around and when I went up to see it my mind was literally melting from the awesomeness! I can say I also got to sit inside of it and it was a surreal experience! 20 years later and it was one of the coolest experiences I ever had. I mean what are the odds I had just picked up the little collectable toy car and happened upon the real deal not even a few miles away!
I like to see moded DeLoreans, & it's nice to see factory DeLoreans, any DeLorean's good to see as far as I'm concerned, been a fan of them for years!
There's still enough of em in the wild to do something cool with at least one of them!

"Time capsule" - that is indeed the right term for it. It is amazing that ALL the stuff from the original company still exists and being appreciated by different generations of people. Sure, the movie gave DMC the spotlight back in the day - now the old & new car has the chance to conquer the modern times. 😎👍

Wow, I’ve loved the Delorean ever since watching ‘Back to the Future’ in the mid 1980’s as a kid and it is so awesome to see how passionate the DMC owner is to see that this iconic car is around for future generations. Fantastic tour of the factory and a most incredible time capsule. Thanks for making this video and keep up the awesome content!

They didn't play around with their quality back then. Everything was meant to hold up over time. The NOS parts look like they were made yesterday!

A lot of us 40 something year olds know this car has been cool for 4 decades!
I was there 2 years ago! Since then I've made it to the Florida DMC and I'm so ecstatic for the DeLorean to be rebuilt!
The first time I saw a DeLorean still sticks out in my mind. Comox BC, 1984. This shiny metal "supercar" pulls in to the civilian air terminal on the base I lived on as a teenager. I was delivering papers, and ended up being really late because I was in awe. The owner was really cool about this kid asking so many questions, and let me sit in it. I left wishing some day I'd be lucky enough to own one. Well, I'm 51 and still wishing.
Hopefully they'll be in production again soon and your dream can come true!

Always been a cool car, just some of us who loved it from day one were too young to afford it. I actually had an opportunity to work on one and was beyond impressed for what it was. Kudos to the new CEO and DMC, wish more classics had such a dedicated support system.
I have always been a fan of the body design of the DMC-12. The stainless is great. But that gold you put on yours really does it justice.
It really makes it pop!

Great video, as are all that I've seen from y'all! Being a child of the eighties and seeing the passion and honesty of the CEO of DMC (Stephen) is truly heart warming. I think Delorean himself would be proud to be represented by such a person. It's rare to find someone who is willing to do anything to follow their dreams, maybe he went too far, but Stephen seems to be on firm ground. Best of luck to him and you on your dream cars!

My childhood in a building
Like a Phoenix out of the ashes, this is the best outcome you could wish for to keep the brand alive. What a fantastic product to come out of the early 80s, when modernisation took a leap.

That gold is amazing. I would never have imagined in a million years just how breathtakingly good it would look. But then, I'm rubbish at that sort of thing. I know what I like but never, EVER, let me choose the colour, or patterns, designs... huge respect for guys like you who can visualise the finished product.
It was sort of a spur of the moment decision! We're stoked with the way it turned out!
Reminds me of the three original gold plated models.
The CEO should begin contemplating exhaust deals with Borla and Magnaflow for all of those Gearheads that are gonna want a broader range of exhaust notes in 2022.
He's trying to keep the car as true to the original as possible, but that would definitely be a good idea for magnaflow to jump on that before the relaunch!

Good to see they're working on new carbon underpinnings. Those original tubs were a joke...it was explained to me by factory workers at the time that the molds didn't cool off enough between layups. Most likely this caused undesirable exothermic reaction in the resin. Many of the cars had blistering problems and often the rivnuts would pullout or spin as well. If you ever restore a DMC12 be careful when you remove the fenders because sometimes there's a hex nut on the backside of the spinning rivnut. That's because I used to superglue that nut to the end of my fingertip to install it! Man, if Zap superglue wasn't around in 1980/81 DeLorean would have gone outta business nevermind the cocaine and the bankruptcy.
And now we have a new ev modern one coming out. So pumped for august

I like the replica EV idea more than the EV concept, especially if it somehow improves weight distribution of the original, because at least it will LOOK like a DeLorean.

That is so dam cool. Just when I couldn’t want another car this happens and then you get slapped in the face with reality and knowing you will never be able to afford one. So dang cool to see the history and future all in one.

I really think they delorean, you should put together your new electric models, since they would be like out of the movie, back to the future, and it would be incredible to have one like that. It is a car that being electric I would buy it without hesitation
