Bergevin fixed a good trap for Carolina 😂😂😂
And have done nothing with it😂
Meanwhile, Montreal laughs at this and thanks Carolina for the draft picks.
Love it... LOL
They spend it way back. Is it really worth laughting that your youth development and scouts picks him 3rd ovr and gets basically nothing on return 😂
What's Montreal laughing at?
Congrats on Montreal obtaining Dvorak (while also having to throw in a second in this year's draft!), and a third (Adam Engstrom) for that draft pick. JK, with all of his flaws, has had more goals than Dvorak since this fiasco.
Where Arizona used that pick and flipped up to get Conor Geekie. I know of the 3 who I would rather have.
@@deltagolavista1 What is funny about that is the fact that Montreal did not match the offer sheet and that we don't have the problem the Hurricanes will be having soon. We may not have much for it, but we have the money to get other better players and that is funny...
@@juuhan4892 same reply as I said before... What is funny about that is the fact that Montreal did not match the offer sheet and that we don't have the problem the Hurricanes will be having soon. We may not have much for it, but we have the money to get other better players and that is funny...
KK is done in the NHL unless he loses that chip on his shoulder. Definitely not welcome back to MTL
Kent Hughes is a brilliant GM. We have drafted so much talent ( and traded for talent ) after Bergevin was fired. The entire landscape changed
it would be really hysterical if Jasperi gets bought out and ends up back in montreal with a much more reasonable contract for a 3rd or 4th liner. that would mean carolina's offer sheet actually helped montreal bring his price down and gave them a draft pick to do it. most likely wont happen but just the thought makes me laugh.
He's soft as jello ... pass on him.
He decided to leave then so be it.
It would be funny but I rather owen Beck gets a chance before kk
Owen Beck centering Joshua Roy and Emil Heineman/Sean Farrell wouldn't be horrible to start the season off @@MrXanderii
@@Mr_Spock512 Define soft? He does a lot of good things but certainly not worth his current contract.
This is not my kind of humour... Nope, not at all. I think he would a cancer in the room.
100% agree with your assessment. Also....cap is going to increase over the buyout period thus making the buyout even that much more affordable and less of a budget strain.
Good riddance to KK!!!! As I've said before he could care less because he gets his $$$ and will laugh all the way to the bank howbeit in Finland. He'll start a "1st Round Flop" support group with Nail Yakapov.😂😂😂
For all your videos now, I just scroll to when I see the tweet. Saves a hella lot of time
MB is laughing right now. Expensive revenge for the Canes.
He’s not laughing that loud. He gave up a 1st and a 2nd rd pick to acquire a 3rd/4th line center in Dvorak. He was a terrible GM !
what did carolina see in that guy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
KK would likely go back to Europe and play well there...He will have no financial worries ...
All you x users better be chirping the official hurricanes x account about this. They publicly mocked the habs when they got KK.
Kottkaniemi's contract was always built to be bought out at this point. Less than a $1M per year is chump change if he didn't pan out into the second line centre they thought he could be. The money will be better spent on Necas and Jarvis.
For 12 years!! Haha.
Whalers fan out here. Would be alright with them keeping Kotkaniemi if he can improve on his performance even incrementally next year. Hes still relatively alright on the faceoff (55% won in 11 playoff games) and can hit and block (but not as much as others on the team) and is still youthful enough to hopefully improve. If he doesnt improve next year; would perhaps be in favor of a buyout.
If I recall if they wait another year it doesn’t work as his price goes up because of his age.
Why can he improve next year? He should improve this year with that salary! He just said « I will have a good summer of training ». Euh…but what about last summer???
@smilebob100 because from here, Kotkaniemi seems like a project that still has potential upside. A down year can have a lot of factors, and from here, it's worth one more year to see if the down year drives him to improve. Patience can yield surprising results; also, the savings wouldn't make enough of a difference from here. The front office has a long summer ahead.
I'm thinking the same. I dont see Carolina do the buyout just yet, he's still young and there's still place for improvement...I think they're going to give him one more chance or try to trade him first by retaining 1-1,5 millions before going all out with a buyout that will last 12 freaking years on them. If he's not improving this year though, now I beleive it will seriously be considered.
Jesperi Flopniemi
DW signing KK was a stupid idea. They need to buy him out to sign other better performing players.
I like this logic. 5th pick would be good for this year's guy and Reinbacher, was Price not the habs last 5th pick...
Pretty funny hurricanes bring him in to laugh at Montréal just for Montréal to laugh at them
how was Montreal's playoff run the last six years?
@@chuckwright8889 don't care there not my team all tho would be nice if canada got the cup at least once in my lifetime
We got Dvorak. We ain’t laughing at the Canes at all.
retain half and Philly could be interested. Need a C for Michkov ;). (Cap hit might be better for them to buy him out though it's longer)
No one would retain a contract thats more than 3 years +, that's plain bad.
Necas and Kotkaniemi (50%retained)for Wpg first
It's not about Montreal, it's about Bergevin. He negotiated a year in advance with Winnipeg for PLD, got fired before he traded the farm away, was hired by LA as a 'senior adviser' and traded for PLD. Bergevin never developed youth, stuck it in the bottom six and managed the top six with free agents and trades. Kotkaniemi was doomed. All of Bergvin's 1st round picks faded away except Sergachev who was traded and actually developed in Tampa. In return he got Drouin who faded away into the bottom six. Gorton & Hughes developed Bergevin's last three 1st round picks, Cauflied, Guhle, Mailloux. They look good. Funny how that happens.
Drouin is good, it was only wasted talent in MTL by stupid management who wanted to turn him into a defensive center
The Florida Panthers should be all over this Kotkaniemi move
When the offershit from Carolina came, i said let him go and send the 20 box with a thank you note.(remember the $20 was there to point out the offer done on Aho case)🤑😝
The Canes could get a big winger like Jake Debrusk. They need some bigger players up front that play physical.
We got bailed out by the canes and immediately said let f it up again and get Dvorak 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He will be bought out in the late year that the 1/3 ratio applies. Not this year IMO.
Habs fan, I would definitely give him another shot on a cheap contract...
I think KK can be a useful player, I just think he and everyone else need to stop thinking he is a top 6 player. He's definitely an NHLer, just not a top 6 guy. Canes made their own bed with that contract extension when they could have found some other sucker to take him as an RFA. That always bothered me.
Anyone still laughing at the jokes in that golden gun offer sheet? It's always nice to see people have to eat their own mistakes.
They'll probably try and trade him first. I don't know, maybe Utah, Columbus, Senators or Jets may bite
Stop saying Utah, Columbus, Senators or Jets are stupid, it's not nice.
@@CdeHavillandMosquito is he really that bad?
montreal has a 4th line that cost 14 m a year
And they’re rebuilding… your point is what exactly? They are taking on bad contracts for draft picks as well sooo?
id pick Dubois over kk ...
Poor Montreal... to think that Brady Tkachuk went number 4... Aouch
He won't get bought out
Aslong as current GM is in place. Just makes the organization look stupid
When KK was with Mtl I said he would amt to nothing turns out I was right
If the Canes buy him out, he instantly becomes a very interesting salvage project.
For the league minimum yeah
Sure but hopefully not for the Habs lol! No thanks! We’ve moved on! He chose his path!
@@mikeking9696 I 100% agree.
If he was with the habs kent hughes would of moved him anyways
mtl will kick in the 20 dollar signing bonuses, if any during buyout
bury the hatchet and all. ;)
You forgot to mention Kirby Dach (although the jury is not out on that one yet)🤣 what is with that team and third overall picks lol
They didn't pick him at 3rd, wtf are you on about lol. They got him for an average romanov when they are loaded with D men.
Pronounced Coat-Caniemi
Purely looking @ $'s... buy him out is the only solution... KK knew what he was doing when the offer sheet landed in his lap....
JK IS TRADABLE. The cap hit per season is very manageable. The issue is the term and starting 7/1/24, he has a M-NTC.
Also Carolina might need to eat salary to entice teams to trade for him.
Wings pick him up for 1-3 years adds another young piece. If anyone can get him to be better it’s yzerman.
Watch the islanders take him
22 lol.
Maybe this kid needs less boring line mates to play with ? I'd rather watch paint dry than watch the Hurricanes
I still think KK has upside. Big dude and plays hard. It would be hilarious if Carolina buys him out and Montreal signs him on the cheap and he scores 25 or so. I think KK's best hockey is in front of him
i totally forgot that the Whalers got him with an offer sheet. damn. i feel bad for the kid, no one wants to see a young player flounder like this, but the Whalers having to buy him out after signing him to an offer sheet is karma
All that to spite the habs for offer sheeting aho. Bergy was wise.
Nothing has made me laugh harder than watching the Hurricanes management self own on this move.
yeah, what a disaster the Canes are.....six years in a row with at least one round of playoff wins. How bout those Canadiens?
@@chuckwright8889 totally irrelevant…not being discussed captain weak mind.
Another Montreal Canadiens 1st round draft bust.
they dont save any money lol they need to replace him lol derp!!!
Guys he’s 23 calm down.
As a habs fan, thank god the canes took him off our hands lol
I would not buy him out. He is young and not that much overpaid (1-2mil).
