My reverse gear frequently remains available even when the vehicle is well in motion, causing me to accidentally grind it when going for 5th. Any ideas what might be fudging up to cause this?
Going to be going in on mine in the future. Great video.

What document were you using for the rebuild?

Hi, im fairly convinced im missing the centering spring in my T56, because the shifter doesnt even try springing back to center.
Could I fix that with a MGW shifter? Do they have a second set of centering springs internally? Thank you in advance for the info

If your still on here i'm having a problem with the 5/6 fork and sycorn orientation. On the syncro one side has grooves on it and the other side is smooth. Do you know which way the syccro sits. Groove up or grooves down?? Thanks

Awesome Job and Video! Question, the side detent ball you described within your video, what's your thoughts on not having a detent ball, but a simple plug for that whole? Reason I ask, I went to do the anti-venom mod, and the PO must have done something out of the norm and now there is just a plug. I'm curious if this should be a concern to me or not. Thanks!

Hi Steve, the purpose of the detent ball is to provide just that, "detents" between fore/aft motions of the shifter. If it's a simple plug, it will not "find" the next gear as easily and you risk damaging syncros/gears. Imagine going halfway into 4th gear; without the aid of the detent it may not completely go in. I would remove the plug and replace it with the factory detent ball.

How did your diagnosis turn out? Centering spring was the issue? Great video btw.

I replaced it with a new old stock centering spring. It helped a lot.

Norbert Ogiba i just sent my z06 diff out to get a 3.73 installed and wpc treated, thinkin of tightening up the trans as well. The MGW shifter really helped with the slop, since it replaces the factory shift box assembly.

I also ended up installing an MGW.
