  • The Philadelphia Eagles fell short once again, this time, to Baker Mayfield's Tampa Bay Bucs 32-9. The Eagles finished the season 1-6 after a 10-1 start and Nick Sirianni's name is circulating across the football world as the next coach to be fired. Colin Cowherd explains how the coach lost Philly's locker room, which should lead to the two parting ways. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17 and will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Josh Allen went 21-of-30 for 277 total yards and four total touchdowns. Colin credits Sean McDermott for helping turn things around by comparing this Bills team to the Tom Coughlin New York Giants.

Sirianni's immaturity and lack of decorum on the sidelines is regrettable. At the Chiefs game he was yelling obscenities to the crowd. On another occasion, Hurts restrained him (softly) from gesturing and inciting other fans. So...yeah, I'd have to agree with Colin's take on this.

During the SuperBowl when Jalen Hurts had to check his head coach for flipping off fans during the challenge, that was the flaming red flag that maybe he wasn’t the right leader of men. Eagles need a adult in the room, Vrabel or Belichick would be perfect

They need another offensive mastermind that can set up the exact perfect system for Hurts to succeed. Work to hide his flaws and weaknesses. Run him, let him get the ball out quickly and not have to read coverages. A defensive HC isn't going to help much with that.

You cannot blame this all on Siriani although ultimately he signs off on both defense and offense gameplans but remember…a few weeks ago he stated that Jalen Hurts has full permission to audible on any play. The problem ? Hurts cannot read defenses and has zero clue how to handle a straight on blitz. Teams don’t even have to disguise the blitzes!! • @dbone515
    @dbone515 Před 4 měsíci

As an Eagles fan, I’d rather have Ben Johnson, offensive coordinator of the lions who’s gonna be a coach next year, over Bellichik any day of the week. Bellichik is too old fashioned and he likes having complete control. But as us Eagles fans know, Lurie and Roseman won’t let that fly because they like being the one’s responsible for signing the right players and coaches…It’s for that reason we got rid of Doug Pederson shortly after the we won the Super Bowl- because they gave Doug the option of letting Howie and Lurie pick the offensive and defensive coordinator or to walk, and Doug walked. Sure, Bellichik would fix our defense, but in this league nowadays, it’s best to have an offensive minded coach like Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson would fit perfectly with the Eagles, Bellichik not so much because he won’t get along with the front office.
And even though Sirianni has made it to the playoffs, and 1 Super Bowl, all 3 years as our coach, you have to look at it like- was the collapse of the eagles this season, there being 0 adjustments on both sides of the ball, having a playbook made up of only like 10 predictable plays that it looks like they got straight out of madden, not fixing what they need to do against the Blitz knowing that they call long developing routes instead of quick routes so Hurts can get the ball out and where WR’s can catch on the run right after they played the same defensive blitzing style the week before against the Giants is insane to me. It’s just bad coaching and not preparing the team the right way.
And Sirianni doesn’t just not call the plays, but it’s clear that he doesn’t even overrule any of the bad play calls he hears on the mic (I.e. abandoning the run so quickly even even if it’s working).
Sirianni is in way over his head, and Steichen and Grudden leaving proved that. So yes, I do think our collapse, the lack of adjustments, terrible playcalling to not put hurts in a position to succeed since the receivers aren’t even finishing their long routes by the time hurts is getting pressure, abandoning the run, AND WHEN YOU HAVE THAT MANY TALENTED PLAYERS ON OFFENSE BUT CAN IMPLEMENT A STRUCTURE FOR THEM THAT WORKS….It’s a coaching problem and while the microscope was on him and he got out coached EVERY SINGLE GAME, it justifiable to fire him…This year has been a coaching problem, on both sides of the ball but there was nothing more frustrating to watch screen after screen QB Draw after QB Draw, no motions or creativity, just high school football play calling. Yes, the defensive play calling was awful too and swapping out Desai for Patricia was 1 of the worst decisions ever, but our bad defense was largely due to our old, slow linebackers and D Backs….But on the offensive side, we have A+ talent so there’s no excuse. If AJ Brown has to call a players only meeting saying that they need to start believing in the coaches, the coaches have clearly lost the team and they get furious at the plays they call (hence all the hostility on the sidelines between players and coaches). The players knows it, and I’m sure they’ll speak out about it soon.
Because when there’s smoke…there’s usually fire….And there has been a lot of smoke about the Locker room and about the players believing in the coaches.
There’s my rant, but in short, we obviously need a great new Defensive and offensive coordinator, and if we can get Ben Johnson, then drop Sirianni and hire him and we’ll be back on track (hopefully).

Philly would be right back in the Super Bowl if they landed Harbaugh

25 Sources? Shut Up! It was a typical media hit job and the team has since rallied behind their head coach!

Too bad siriani isn't black, he'd be able to lose every year and keep his job

So what you’re saying is the players on the Eagles , don’t have enough football pride to win games ? What is lose the locker room ? Who is the player that motivates the team to make plays ? Do you think Brady , Montana , Mc Mahman , Favre , Kelly , Kapp , Tarkenton , Vick , Fitz magic , Grogan , Stabler , Namath , etc would allow a locker room to be lost ??

Look at the narratives the sports media constantly create… Eagles lose, means the coach “lost the locker room”?
Huh? Man y’all TOO GOOFY if you continue to listen to clowns like this

The defense didn't even try to tackle after Matt Patricia came to town. They hate him, and DGAF.

So I have zero issues with the take about McDermott being rigid, awkward, or any of that. HE SAID TERRORISTS WERE GOOD. That is the issue I have with him. If he doesn't get to the AFC championship I'd get rid of him

He didn’t say that. He mentioned how they collectively worked together and bought into the mission. That’s all. It’s tasteless and stupid to say. But don’t make the man sound UnAmerican

This guy actually does not understand football. To say Jordan Love is better than Purdy, and that Green Bay could beat San Francisco😂 old man needs to be off tv. Sounding senile.

To be fair, the people that said Love is better than Dak and Green Bay could beat Dallas were accused of being senile as well.

Did you not watch Love on Sunday? Not even Packer fans expected a beatdown like that.
