The best route to go for Ratchet and Clank is definitely a sequel to Rift Apart finding the Lombax dimension, it would be nice if they took the story more serious kind of like an "Empire Strikes Back" story (a Lombax as an Antagonist for example)
As for the question in the end I think it's best of Sly and Jak are given their own Reboot games first that hints to Ratchet and Clank like Lombaxes in Paris or Precursors knowing about dimensional Rifts and Zonies
Those precursors... They probably know so much but refuse to say anything.

Ratchet & Clank is honestly one of the best platform gaming franchises that deserves the same spot compare to Sonic, Mario etc. and I’m more excited for whenever the next R&C game comes out than Insomniac’s Marvel games after Rift Apart as a big Marvel fan myself.
What I do hope is for a Rivet & Kit spin-off solo game that focuses more on Them only as their own story and I’d do anything to make that happen. Then maybe also a TV series that’s canon to the games like Sonic Prime.🙌🏻🤞🏻
Personally ratchet and clank is my second favorite video game franchise behind only Zelda.
Concerning Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper, my thought on them becoming Canon to the RaC series is a "Maybe", depending on how they play their cards.
If they pass them off as alternate dimensions, that would be nice, but a far more interesting approach to them would be to place them in their own separate Galaxies within the RaC multiverse, and put them just far enough out of the normal happenings that only the elite of those galaxies have a clue about what's going on, so their canon events can converge near seamlessly (Insomniac/Sony, please consider) with relatively minor plot holes that can just be explained by this logic.
If they are to start with Jak, they'd need to start not with the main man himself, but the Precursors, and Clank finally having someone he can talk to without having to look up at them, or to get a stool. Extra points if he can be the tall one for once. Afterwards, we can meet Jak, and maybe get a Precursor armor set of our own.
As for Sly, that's a more tricky transition. The best bet we have with it is via Clockwork's full backstory, which would be fascinating. Giving him a Transformers-esque history of how he came to their planet would make for an interesting backstory. However, it would have to be played with extreme caution, or else it would become one of the cheesiest backstories in video game history. Not some "Evil Superman"-esque story would work here, make it seem like some sci-fi, eldritch stuff. Some extra-dimensional, mechanical-based life form that evolved somewhere far off from the reality that Sly lives in, and was raised by his ancestors or something. Something that does not truly understand the concepts of age or death due to it not being able to actually experience it for itself. This would make for a really interesting way of making the story seem true.
Oh, and making the Metal heads actually be some sort of bioweapon that the Lombaxes tried to wipe out would also help a bit
Interesting theory. If Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon were canon to Ratchet, how would that play out?
@@idontcareredacted1991 Crash and Spyro would just be some alternate dimension, or some planet that never got advanced enough to feasibly perform intergalactic travel just yet, most likely due to not having a suitable, sustainable power source for it at the moment. Interplanetary is a certainty, but intergalactic is a definite no.
The precursors probably know more than we even realize. Heck just a Clockwerk backstory in a future Sly game would be epic!

I would love to see Jak return, though I never got into Sly.
I would say do not cross them over as a "serious canon" kind of thing. Nods and references are great, but whatever these three franchises do, I would like them to be able to do it without having to worry about stepping on each other's toes through a shared setting.

I replayed Rift Apart last month so I started playing the original again and my fiance was like “that’s cool that he’s just a mechanic in the first game”
I wonder how many people view Ratchet as a galactic super hero akin to something you’d see in the MCU
i honestly would love to see Ratchet and Clank come at long last to the Lombax dimension. would be so interesting to see how different Ratchet might be. i guess it could be interesting to see both Ratchet and Rivet visit this Dimension and see their actual race, who knows what a "real" lombax is, as we do know their culture is very much high tech and all of them seem to be very very smart, as while Ratchet dosen't seem like the most intelligent he still seems to easily build or fix things that are machinery and space ships. So who knows. it could also be that the lombaxes have grown so fearful of other dimensions due to well them having to flee and might see Ratchet as an imposter. we could have his farther be a statue which is celerbrated and revered as their savior who held back Tachion to protect the fleeing citizins.
it would also seem like Ratchet and Rivet does seem to be rather into each other, like in a sense of love, but it could also be that idk akwardness of essentialy meeting your dimensional counterpart might just be abit weird. But then again i kinda wanna see Ratchet for once be happy and potentialy help the lombaxes from comming out of hideing and potentialy guide them in rebuilding their civilization back on their homeworld of Fastoon or another planet
Ratchet as an impostor, that certainly would be a challenge he could face.
well it could be that the Lombaxes has become immensly Xenophobic due to them having to flee and beliveing that all lombaxes came with them, so it could be very much a plot point of him trying to bring them back to the wider galaxy/dimensions. who knows might be a worthy end for Ratchet to become the Savior like his farther. potentialy we might get to see holo recordings of his farther and mother or something like that. it could even be that that Ratchet has to battle with lombax politics

honestly, given that demention hopping is now on the table, I would love a game where instead of planets, we get dimensions that are based on sony IP. Spyro world, Jak world, Sly world, Crash world, etc. Ive seen a lot of people going the "lombax are evil now" plot, and having them invade these dimensions and having to help the worlds protag would be very cool.

VTNVIVI I save every single one of your Ratchet & Clank videos because I am a mega fan but in the end I never get to watch them because I speak Italian and very little English and the CZcams subtitles are only sketchy.

I think as a long fan of the series that a new one could start from the “Future” series on ps3 to understand the lore (and maybe play the 3rd R&C to get introduced to Nefarious). Rift Apart from my point of view is not just a presentation to the new players but also a gift for the storical ones.
While playing Rift Apart i had the same vibes of “A Crack in time” that in my favorite game of the series. Quite disappointing that they remove the explorable space like “A crack in time” for travel between planets and sectors.
The only game from the original series I have is the second game and then that 2016 reboot thing

So far Tools of destruction is by far the best Ratchet game. Rift apart was good but somewhat underwhelming I expected more. The Ryno wasn't as awesome as it was in Tools.
But I will be onboard with spin-off games.
Yep Ratchet & Clank has a lot of potential. Let's just hope Insomniac Games (but more specifically PlayStation Studios/Sony Interactive Entertainment) will do things to reach this, especially now that the time between big game releases will be longer.

I honestly could see a Rivet and Kit game happening, the dimensional counterpart duo have become quite popular in a short time, which not many entries in a franchise that has a brand new characters added that become popular overnight essentially the only one that I can think of that comes close is Animal Crossing with the introduction to Isabelle in New Leaf, not a easy feat to pull off, all in all I can see a Rivet and Kit game taking place after Rift Apart's sequel is the most logical step, not sure if we'll get one before that though, I can imagine Rift Apart 2 will happen after IG wraps up Spider-Man 2 game, since a bunch of the R&C crew do share a lot of the same people at Insomniac Games that worked on Spider-Man game and is the reason why we got Rift Apart in the first place, it gave them new ideas during development that thought "yeah this could work well for Ratchet" honestly I'm so glad Rift Apart is as successful as it is, made me love a Ratchet and Clank game as equally as A Crack in Time, which is an absolute tall order to pull off but RA did it, man I'm looking forward to what's next.
Honestly, another ratchet, Sly & jak crossover would be pretty amazing! But it's the matter of handling is the question.
I personally would want it to be canon, seeing as PlayStation seems to be having their IP's be closer knit, in terms of how their referenced & seemingly made canon to one another in some way. Rift Apart with the Lorbs & R.Y.N.O. 8 easter eggs. Ragnarok with that PlayStation All-Stars reference & poem books. Even Astro's Playroom & LittleBigPlanet could be considered alternates, given various IP's (Ratchet, Sly & Jak included) are represented in some way. (Which now feels strange that SpongeBob is somehow canon to Ratchet & Clank, in that regard)
I feel the Marvel approach could work...despite possible timeline differences between the different series. But I think that could be chalked up to time moving differently between each dimension. Example: Horizon & Uncharted happening at the same time, despite being two different timelines of earth.
However, I feel that making it a dedicated spin-off, similar to the Mario + Rabbids games. Something that may or may not be canon, but keeping the platforming aspects intact. Could be the easiest option, instead of going all in on it at first. And then maybe tying it all together later, if it proves successful enough.
At the most, I'd say a PS All-Stars 2 could be the most likely thing to happen. But I would love to be proven wrong! I don't know, but there's a LOT of potential to be had with all these little breadcrumbs PlayStation Studios has all over the place, across their various series. Whether or not a crossover happens, I'm excited for whatever happen! :)

The rumor was just that a new ratchet game was being worked on and that turned out to be rift apart.
Where can I read that Captain Starshield comic? I didn’t even realize that existed, so now I’m excited because I thought I knew about all R&C media.
Ratchet & Clank been on every playstation hardware since debuted in 2002.
Along with god of war they are the only franchises that had a game on every playstation (gran turismo skiped the vita and wipeout didn’t got a new game since ps4).

I do like the idea of a major Canon crossover event game (but I do agree they need to be careful if they go down this route one day) playing the characters with their unique skill sets for each character in one game could definitely be fun.
But the more interesting part would be: what type of story plot would unfold? And Who or what would be the main antagonist/villain in it? One or more villains from each series or (and I prefer this path) something more original?

A Rachet and clank, sly cooper and jak daxter cross over does sound epic but I'm feeling we're just going to be getting individual games from each of the characters it sounds like something for the future

I thought of this idea that they make ratchet and clank live action movie like how they did with Sonic the Hedgehog because i thought that would be cool because we would get to see ratchet in a more realistic form or how like they did with rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy that would be cool❤❤❤

To be honest Marvel is the only reason Insomniac don't get much time to develop R&C further. We probably won't get more than 1-2 Ratchet games per generation
I think getting a new ratchet game ever year was starting to be to much has it's hard to make a new game in just 1 year without it being to much of the same or buggy but I would love to get a ratchet trilogy on PS5. Better than just the one game we got on PS4 but also not a yearly rush.

One more game is definitely a guarantee but still might take a while
I could see Ratchet and Clank having crossovers with Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper while still being canon in their respective universes/franchises. I think the key would be to make the interactions happen in between gaps of time between games, especially for Jak and Daxter and Sly, and since they are all now part of a PlayStation-Verse I also could see the writers using the excuse that time passes differently in their respective universes.
What I mean is I could see Jak and Daxter meeting a post Rift Apart Ratchet and Clank for example while the elf and ottsel were doing something that takes place in between Jak 3 and Jak X, Jak X and Lost Frontier, or just post Lost Frontier. Same with Sly as I could see him meeting them during the ending of Sly 4 as he was saved from going back in time so he could help the others with something but at the end of their team up chooses to go back to his world even if it means being lost in time, as he wants to be with his friends and Carmelita again and knows they will find him one day.

I feel like the PlayStationVerse has a chance of actually becoming a thing as other recent PlayStation exclusive games like God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima (especially after the release of the Iki island DLC) have made tons of references to other PlayStation exclusive games.
Heck there is some fun dialogue in Ragnarok that seems to confirm that the events of PlayStation All-Stars are canon in the GOW series. Fitting since the company that makes GOW helped work on that game.

Ps I would love to see a remake of ratchet deadlock and I would like to see rivet and kit have their own game or maybe a comic book I would also like to see a game with kaden and Alistair it doesn't have to be a really long game for them maybe just a little bit longer and quest for booty but nothing too extreme along just something that would show what happened on the lobax home world as for rivet I'd love to see more of her backstory including how she may have ended up in that different dimension I'm still willing to take a bet and say she's related to Aleister in some way it could be his daughter or maybe Alistair had a brother or sister that we don't know about and that's his niece

What are the characters in the lombax dimension like? Will any of the them be lombax versions of Clank, Dr. Nefarious, Lawrence, Captain Qwark, Rusty Pete, Skidd, Mrs. Zurkon and Chairman Drek?

@@shanecrean6579 In my opinion on the Rift Apart sequel I hope that they take the route that the Lombax dimension is not what they thought it was, a Lombax as a main antagonist would really set up a big conflict between the heroes, I could imagine a scenario where Ratchet would sacrifice himself to give Rivet and the others a chance to escape

Other than the next R&C game going to kick off the New Saga, Rivet and Kit, Angela, Qwark, Talwyn and her father, A counterpart male version of Talwyn (or is he a counterpart where a twist that he's from Ratchet's universe)
The biggest thing for the New Saga that there will be the main villain throughout the whole Saga.
A new formidable antagonist to Ratchet and his allies, who's a powerful being and unknown type race of alien that reffer himself as a nexus-being who can control space and timelines, who’s also have a source power of the Phase Quartz crystal (which also the multiple-dimensions will be a major thing in the Saga) and he has a sympathatic and complex motive where he thinks the Lombaxes shouldn't be trusted and wronged him in the past, which leads Ratchet and others are the Lombaxes good people or most of them have their own egos. (The point is that the villain is kind of a hero in his own story, but that doesn't mean he's could harm anyone in his way)
Imagine this dialogue between the hero and the villain
Villain: You're an interesting man, Ratchet.
Ratchet: I don't know who you are, but you probably mistaken from somebody else. Look at me, I’m a Lombax, and so is she.
Villain: You're a Lombax…Have I killed you before?
Ratchet: What?
Villain: They’re all blur together after all. You're not the one with the long Wrench though?
Ratchet: That was Alister, I mean some of us look like the other- Wait, who are you?
Villain: Just a man who’ve lost all of his ways, like you, but we can work together on that…

Villain: He didn't tell you about me?

Talwyn: What ends?
Villain: You see I don't live in a straight line like all of you. With Time and Universes, it's difficult not to skip to the end. So, if you want to stop what's coming next, and believe me, you do. I'm the only shot you have.
Rivet: What do you mean for what's coming?
Villain: Yours…A lot of your kinds. They exiled me, here…They’re afraid of me. But I'm the man who can get you home and give you more time. So, what's gonna be, Ratchet? Do we have a deal?
Ratchet: No, I don't think so.

Like how the Future Saga how build the origin and foundation for both Ratchet and Clank, the New Saga will follow similar thing the footsteps of the villain's prespective through the narrative where the villain might have a point of understanding ^^ (It's still a Ratchet & Clank game though, no worries)

Couldn't agree more! The villain can be the Darth Vader/Sephiroth type of villain to Ratchet ^^
Imagine the next game opening and the main menu background is actually paying a homage to the original 2002's Ratchet & Clank, but hits differently where it introduce the villain rightaway in it's first minute
"The game opens with a Markazian woman sits next to the campfire, watching the stars despite this universe is dangerous and abandoned, she looks at her son, who's sleeping inside the camp (which it maybe a hint that boy is the male counterpart of Talwyn). And then she sees something in the space falling, and it's a ship falling on the planet she's in. The Markazian woman took her pistol and she takes her hovorbike to go the crash landing location, as she reached the crashing site, she sees a ship burning as she looks around for survivors, but the area was surrounded with swarmer creatures. She took some of them, and then one of them have the upperhand and pushes her down as she loses her pistol. She tries to protect herself from that swarmer who's trying to eat her, but suddenly the swarmer got shot and killed. The Markazian woman pushes the creature dead body away and sees who took the shot to save her, and it was a mysterious person (the main villain himself) who's laying on the ground crawling as he holds her pistol to save her from death as she was never thought a "survivor" would save her.
Villain: (Breathes)…What is this place?"
Honestly I could see a reboot at the Russian clank game that was based off of the movie not gonna lie I’ve never played Sly Cooper Play looks so 🤩 I will have a field day

I wouldn't say no to a Kaden and Azimuth spin off, the only problem is both never showed up in Rift Apart aside from Kaden being mentioned and referenced to, like if a lot of those new players that started with the series with Rift Apart actually played the previous Future Saga games for context there's a better chance of a Kaden & Azimuth spin off doing well, all you would need is some banger marketing to sell the darn thing then yes that spin off would work, possibly not crazy numbers but giving it the best chance possible could really make a difference in the sales department which both IG and Sony are looking for, honestly if we got a Bluepoint lead Ratchet and Clank Future Saga Collection on PS5 and PC it would complement Rift Apart hugely and also segway to that spin off idea, Novel, Game or otherwise.

@@VtnVivi yeah it is, I do feel like if A Crack in Time at least was more accessible and put into the hands of those who played and enjoyed Rift Apart then that could actually give good odds for a Kaden and Azimuth spin off to happen, another thing is to see both of them show up in a Rift Apart 2 cause if they do and make the player curious about their story enough that a spin off could work, plus some good and clever marketing to outright say even on front of the box "This is a Ratchet and Clank spin off" that's it as long as that's communicated to the consumer and you got a group of fans, a majority even that wants this spin off to happen, then success.
For me personally the time span that has gone over this 1 lore is getting way out of hand, And insomniac should finally tie the knots on this story.
I'd love to see the next game to finally just show ratchet finding his species, And from there go on to another storyline, As there's so much potential & possible scenario's to go to once ratchet has finally found his family, Perhaps indeed with Rivet & Kit, Or with the lombax species as a whole & previous nemesis making a return on them such as Tachyon & the craigmites / Nefarious.
However i'm afraid we'll get yet another sequel that'll just stretch the lombax story, With another nemesis blueballing us on the last moment, Stealing the Dimensionator / Dimensional Map.
(As im pretty sure we'll be seeing that little helper robot from Emperor Nefarious back, Perhaps with Dr Nefarious?)
I’d say ratchet is about 4’3 and clank is about 2’1
Jak is the only series availble for download, while Ratchet and Sly are for streaming. Not sure if thats a treat for Jak fans or if they were just lazy. With the succsess of Rift apart, they pretty much gave us everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to wow factor and I love it. But Id say one of the ways to up their antee is to create a Jak and Ratchet cross over. Im certain Insomniac can pull it off. It may not sit well with Jak and Sly fans but it seems like the only safe way to reintroduce them back to the public, riding on the success of Rift Apart.
They could involve the precursors, they probably know a lot more things than we're aware of.

One detail you missed, Rift apart cost 20 million to make and they grossed only 15 million, losing money.
They might have to rebrand like God of War did, because clearly the audience has outgrown the series.
I'll be surprised if they make a new game. Also bringing these IPs together sounds horrible and cringey, it didnt work the first time it's not gonna work the second time.
