Because he is soo way much more cleverer than her, poor host feels her inadequacy and tries to compensate with awkward uncomely jokes, which actually only exposes her silliness even more.

My dad loves it, he always watches it whenever it's airing on HBO and although he gets the general idea, he gets lost on so many families and so many storylines.

To be fair, GoT is a pretty confusing show. The first time through, I had no idea who the fuck Renly and Stannis were. Honestly I was pretty confused about a lot. Then I re-watched the show, and I understand most of it now. There are still confusing things, but like 75% of them are travel time issues for season 7.

That's her thing, yes, but she does it for comedic effect not to be cool. And it works because Chelsea never takes herself too seriously.

Well I never heard of "Chelsea" before and after this interview I know why. Have to say she is a very awful interviewer here and seems to have awful writers. It's ok if she doesn't have a clue about GoT and let John explain everything. This could have worked well, if it's done right, but she constantly interrupts him and makes really awful jokes, with a few exceptions. Especially Netflix should be capable to hire a better moderator for this show. Now before anyone feel the need to scream sexism, I have nothing against a female late-show host. Ellen is one of my favourite shows out there.

Chelsea is really rude to John and interupts him as soon as she gets the chance. She´s not a good host.
Bradley is so eloquent in his each and every interview and seems a very genuine guy. This interview could have been so much better and enjoyable if not for her. She trying so hard to make it funny but just made it look so silly. Check John's interview with Conan.

I love John's explanation, because it's clear that he's a lore nerd who is all over the place trying to explain the story exactly the way I would, but because he still says names like "Aerys Targaryen II" and doesn't make a clickbaity joke about every other sentence, you can tell she still has no idea wtf he's talking about.
She's a comedian, this is her style, chill out people.
