I have cancer and I've lost everyone in my family to cancer. My wife and I are alone in this world and she also has a terrible disease that is going to take her life too soon. Despite all of the hurdles thrown at us, we are strong Christians and the Petersens have been the best medicine we've ever had. We love their soulful sounds.

Most people have no idea how hard it is to nail a song like this live. The Petersens have it down to a unique art form. How many takes can you make while the fire is burning and the light is dwindling?
Not many.
Yes! Great professionalism!! And this is a video from over three years ago. They keep getting better over the years!
I don't know how many for this particular video but it usually takes them only 2 to 4 takes to shoot the video, 5 is already an exception. It's a craft The Petersens (together with their sound engineer and their videographer) have mastered extremely well.
How much better could it get ? This is beyond words.

Thanks Petersens. The Keating's song reminds me of my wife Annabella Posciatto who died a year ago here in Florence. She was an anesthesiologist and was 38 years old. She died from Covid 19 saving lives. I am also a doctor and despiste my sadness I continúe to work in the hospital. "When you say nothing at all" makes me remember her and is the path between sorrow and joy. Hopefully one day they will come to Florence, the most beatiful city in Italy and Europe, and can sing on the Vecchio bridge. Blessings.

We heard them in Branson at Silver Dollar City pre-covid. I loved them then and they I still love them. Such sweet people and they have such beautiful harmonies! Love them!

@@singmysong1167 It was a kind of atmosphere metaphor since part of the video is filmed very close to the campfire. I didn't take the remarks badly anyway. It's very difficult to convey the state of mind that generate a comment. What I felt was a mixture of wonder and admiration tinged with sadness if I remember correctly. All of their videos give me a deep and yet each time different feeling.

In Ellen I see an inner-strength and power; full of confidence. Franz has a quiet demeanor; contemplative and somewhat sad. Matthew is someone who doesn't show his cards, but he too is very strong and determined. Katie, full of compassion, is the guardian of her siblings.
And Julianne will forever wonder what she did wrong to not get a chair.

Dang. Alison Krauss' vocals are sooo pure and clear, so identifiable, it must take a ton of guts to sing this song and be compared to her rendition. I love the Peterson's, but I opened this video expecting it to compare unfavorably. The first note out of Katie's mouth made my eyes go wide. Her voice is different than Krauss', but the richness and expression in her voice makes you forget anyone else ever sang this song. That's pretty impressive.
I felt very similar to you. This was a great job on the song. I really thought I would be disappointed, but I wasn't.

I lost my beautiful wife of 22 yrs in Nov 2018, she was just 47. Not only does Miss Katie sing this beautifully, she also put into song what my wife used to tell me at very special, certain time. It's to personal to share here, I'll just say that you gave me a very touching way to remember my soulmate, best friend & bravest person I have ever known whom put a smile on the face of everyone she met & all better for knowing her.

So it was two years ago in September of 2020 when I first stumbled into the Petersens world. I was out back on my property setting by a camp fire almost dark and this video came up and I played it, then I played another, and then another, long story made short it's a better life now with Petersens music, videos and content. I discovered the Petersens a few weeks ago. I just wish my dad was still around to appreciate your music. He was pretty good on the guitar and had a very pleasant singing voice. He loved blue grass and would have loved the Petersens.

This is my 3rd Petersens song..... all of them just
its 2 am here in Tn. im in my wheelchair after having had a terrible day of pain . i am up taken my round the clock meds . i am in renal failure. Your music soothes my weary heart. I started playing as a guest in a bluegrass band in the late 60s. i have learned many genres but never forgot bluegrass. You version of this song was very beautiful.i think Alison Krauss would have been singing along proudly if she had heard you. Thanks for a treat that made moment just a little bit brighter.
