"When You Say Nothing at All" was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. It was first a hit for Keith Whitley in 1988, then Alison Krauss in 1995. Irish singer Frances Black, whose 1996 version became her third Irish top -10 single and brought the song to the attention of Irish pop singer Ronan Keating, whose 1999 version was his first solo single and a number-one hit.
I was inspired by Ronan Keating's version.

Two legendary country artists have recorded this beautiful song. The late Kieth Whitley and Allison Krause. You did it great cover. This amazing song is perfect for your voice
I don't know if Emily, whose parents are Norwegian, and who was born and lives in Dubai, knows anything at all about country music. She credits the song to Ronan Keating, who is an Irish folk singer who covered it, and that's obviously how she knows it. But I think it would be a great idea if Emily were to start copying some country songs. She could cultivate a whole new audience.

Actually, Emily's mum is English and was the singer in a country music band, but I agree with your premise if Emily ever chose to go that route there would be a new audience.
