- This is one of the songs requested by you, and we finally had time to learn it. The combination of the Ozarks in the summer and Katie's sweet voice made this video a really great addition to our repertoire.
We are so excited for Europe!!!! We sent our merch ahead of time so say a prayer it makes it through customs and to the venues haha.

►LYRICS - Kiss Me
Kiss me, out of the bearded barley
Nightly beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing your spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
Oh kiss me, beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand, strike up the band
And make the fireflies dance, silver moon sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me, down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
Oh kiss me, beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand, strike up the band
And make the fireflies dance, silver moon sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me, beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand, strike up the band
And make the fireflies dance, silver moon sparkling
So kiss me
So kiss me
(Out of the bearded barley) (Nightly)
So kiss me
(Down by the broken tree house) (Swing me)
So kiss me
(Beneath the milky twilight) (Lead me)
So kiss me

Mom on the bass just killin it.
Yeah, she's holding it together.
NO
It was at the end of the 1990s I met a girl when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She was so amazing. And every time I was in port, I would see her. We would drive in my car around the island and it seemed like every time we hit a stop light, that "Kiss Me" song by Sixpence would come on the radio. So she demanded a kiss. And it became our song. A good excuse to stop and kiss.
24 years later. We're still kissing, and it's still our song. Thanks for this rendition of it.
That's a beautiful story. A long and happy life to you both ❤️
Thank you
Gracias por compartir tu hermosa historia 😊
So uplifting! Such beautiful souls. Instant fan.
Wow. I didn't know what I was expecting, but you've elevated this song. This may be one of the most beautiful songs in the world. What a gorgeous voice
If you like Katie's singing on this one I can definitely recommend you the following videos on this channel as well:
- When You Say Nothing At All
- Annie's Song
- Top Of The World
And also her equally beautiful, but sad, original: California.
Perfect song for Katie! Her sweetness and soulfulness shines through like a perfect ray of sunshine
That's true
it has indeed!!!
And her final solo is so ... GREEEAT ()()()
I know the UPS guy is out there rethinking his choices after this song.
Absolutely captivated by The Petersens' rendition of 'Kiss Me'! Their harmonies and musicality bring a fresh and delightful twist to this classic. Can't get enough of their talent!
The Petersens are legit the most wholesome thing on the internet. Much love.
Real people, real voices, beautiful women singing beautiful songs ❤❤❤ ❤and I’m loving every minute of it.
Nice bass action, Mamma!
Right? Held it together like a boss.
absolutely held your own there with the bass~!!
Yeah, she's really good.
And it looked like she loved every minute of it. Well done!
I find myself ignoring the amazing vocal parts and tuning into the bass line
I know the guys in Six Pence and was around them when they started performing in the basement of small venues. They would be proud of what you did with this tune. Well done!
love bassist
What amazing class and grace! Beautiful! Thank you for posting this!
How on Gods Green Earth can you not love this group? Extraordinary musicianship combined with beautiful singing and multi generational musicians! Absolutely wonderful
Enchanting. Lovely Katie, Drobro spot on as always, Bass holding it togeter, Julianne supporting throughout, Matt building the background, and Ellen showing the results of the song.
🤣the punchline - I was wondering about that!...
The banjo is doing a good job of camouflage, but not per 😊 🪕
🙂Yeah. I was going to ask if I missed the pregnancy announcement.
@@DrWhoRocks333 Ellen and Michael are expecting this fall.
😀I think we all were wondering if any announcement about Ellen's bump would be made! That is awesome! Congratulations! And old girlfriend and I had this as our song. The relationship didn't last but the song always brings back sweet memories. We broke up peacefully. Just differences. I still smile when I hear it.
A comment among thousands... I was strictly classic rock. Now I listen to The Petersons EVERY Friday night on my Phonic Speaker system - so the neighbors get to hear you as well. ( They all say they like what I'm playing! ) I hope I get to see you Live one day.
What a group. The very best of the best.
This cover was sung perfectly.
Somehow y’all just continue to top yourselves. I wish I could take the whole band into my arms and give you all a big hug, just like your music does for me. 🥰
whatever song they perform it's always dead on spot!☺️🙏
Centang Candek....mantapppp!
Until this evening I had never even heard of The Petersens.
So glad I have now.
What an amazing cover.
Great performance, great interaction between all the players.
And really moving.
Perfect.
Saw them in Branson a couple of weeks ago and they were simply Fantastic - That's our second time seeing them and there's not a better show in Branson - Their venue is on the smaller size which makes it more viewer friendly - there's not a bad seat in the house
ellen, you shine like a true future mother! really beautiful to see!
cheers ben.
I can’t tell you how many times I keep coming back to listen to the Petersens music. It is Angelic, serene and stunningly beautiful. Simply put; your music brings me joy.
Articulated perfectly! A performance that bring joy.
Best version of Kiss Me I have ever heard. God bless you all.
Wonderful talent all around. The girls' harmonies are, as always, exquisite. Katie, in the several years that I have been listening to the Petersens family, your voice has continued to become come richer and more soulful. It's always a pleasure to hear this family's music.
Always loved the poetic words and vibe of the original Sixpence None the Richer song. This cover is a great choice and the arrangement is terrific.
Lovely performance by a favorite ensemble! Always enjoy the extra bit of Katie at the end of your pieces. Talent, humor and beauty sincere!
The cover version is absolutely fantastic!
The song is beautiful and so well interpreted, but the most beautiful thing is the tenderness with which you look at each other. The family is the most beautiful refuge.
A big smile when I saw that a new Petersens song had dropped. Best wishes on your tour in the UK and Europe. They’re gonna love y’all!
Another beauty! But I have to give this big shout out...GIT IT MAMMA!...awesome on the bass!!!
This performance can be put in just one word: WOW!!! Are The Petersens not quite unique today ? They sing and play all these music instruments so magnificently beautiful in harmony, and in a manner that is totally unadulterated by external or commercial influence. There is a pristine quality to the veracity of their singing and playing that is the real essence of pure music. There is no pretense, no histrionics, just the naturalness that comes from a God-given talent. This is something very special 👏👏👏 Thank you very much for this moment of pure enjoyment! And please keep singing and playing music together, the world definitely needs your music in it 🌎🎶🎵😀
well said, friend
Wish I could have said this!
Beautiful song sing by beautiful ladies
Saya tdk berhenti menggerakan bahu, kepala dan kaki...mendengarnya.sangat indah!
You all are a true blessing from the Lord. Always have more peace after listening to you all!
Saw The Petersens 'live' in London..03/09/2023...Wow, wow, wow.....brilliant... absolutely loved their performance(s)... They all stood out... sometimes you eat something, sometimes you buy something and sometimes you watch something and think....that was absolutely worth every single penny paid... a performance that completely over delivered..👌 thats how i genuinely feel....March 2020 and lockdown i came across this band and im glad i did..😊
i'm guessing they did not play this song?
what a beautiful arragenement. fantastic performance.
The bass player is so cool! Thanks for the new song you all.. Take me Home Country Road helped me in a really big way.. Keep doing what you all do so well.
Those 3 part harmonies and the dobro at the end!
the smile from the girl wearing the purple dress every time the other one starts singing.. so adorable.. I love musical families, always have. so on point
Agreed.
That's Julianne, known as Julz
Loving the bass...well...all of it really.
Great lead vocal by Katie, with able support from Julianne and Ellen! That "sounding all Celtic" fiddle performance made for a nice outro.
Beautifully done!
Y’all moved this old man to tears, beautiful
and also from minute 2.40 to 2.50, the three voices together are something of wonderful !!!!
A year ago I would say that you were America's best kept secret, but not now. You are fast becoming one of the most inspirational and joyful bands of this country. Your express joy and unity in your music, and there seems to be no limit to what you can accomplish. And besides, every song seems to sound better with a banjo. I just want you to come to Hampton Roads Virginia for a concert.
Today was the worst day of the year ( professionally speaking ) to come home and see this upload. The way all of you look at each other. There is such a timeless and sweet thing about this group. For a few minutes it wasn't the worst day.
Thank You Petersens.
Absolutely fantastic. Ticket booked for Sept 4th in London. Can't wait. 👍🏻
incredible.....thank you
Pleasant summer song-Katie's beautiful singing and harmony with Julianne and Ellen.
As much as I am on CZcams, I don’t know how it’s possible that I just now found you, but I did! Better late than never! Y’all are sooo good. Always perfect, actually. It makes me kind of tear up just to watch you. Everything is wonderful. I have a smile on my face the whole time I’m watching you! 😊
I cry everytime you play. Literally. Girls' performance is one of the best.
Mama P in the zone! What a great bass line you found!

Mom's having such a good time. I love it!!
Amazing, again. I’m sure there are times when this can be a grind and one or more of you feels like it’s time to move on. Just know that the six of you are making something wholesome and beautiful and putting smiles on faces around the world. Thank you.
Love you all! Thanks for sharing your work with this BEAUTIFUL song. Following from Argentina.
I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: y’all’s music is one of the best things on the internet and is an incredible blessing to me and countless others. Thank y’all so much for sharing it!
Also, stay safe and have fun on y’all’s overseas tour!
So am I the only one mesmerized by the bass line on the Cello? Sounds so good!
This is one of my favorite songs, played by one of my favorite bands! Such a sweet song, such a beautiful version. I love this video❤
Just beautiful!
The dobro solo in particular was absolutely perfect for this track.
Beautiful rendition of this Sixpence None the Richer song. I hope the Petersens will do more from this band because it seems like a perfect match.

And the great music will go on....
What truly impressed is your mic technique, getting the blend of voices off of one mic is a testament to many years of experience.
Love the outro!
Leigh Nash will love this cover. The banjo, mandolin and Dobro give it a nice depth and richness
Bless God for the angel known as Katie. Whenever I need peace her voice calms me..
Saling memandang dalam kekaguman di antara mereka akhirnya keluar sebagai senyuman..

Magnifico!!! The Petersens sure know how to bring a ray of sunshine to any day. Ya'll exude happiness. ❤&RESPECT
I discovered the Petersen's during the Covid-19 lockdown and have followed them ever since. They get better with each passing year.
Hearing and seeing all of you playing and singing together is a wonderful reminder of how beautiful life actually is. Well done!
All my kiddos are learning different instruments and The Petersens and such great examples of what music and family can be. Love it all!
Everything about this is Spot-On... From the arrangement, to the time of release closer to fall... The essence of the song was captured so well, as well as given a new life. What a great way to start the semester!
Absolutely awesome. One of my all time favorite songs and done so good!!!

Soon as I saw what song it was when it came up in my CZcams recommendeds I was like oh yeah I totally gotta check this out this is right in their wheelhouse these guys are totally gonna crush this which of course y'all did 🤙🏼
Sixpence None the Richer was a 90's Christian band that had this "secular" hit in 97. Katie's voice fits it perfectly!!!!!! This one really brings me back to my youth!
FUN FACT: Sixpence None the Richer was named after a line from C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity.
"It comes from a book by C. S. Lewis called Mere Christianity. A little boy asks his father if he can get a sixpence-a very small amount of English currency in use at the time-to go and get a gift for his father. The father gladly accepts the gift and he's really happy with it, but he also realizes that he's not any richer for the transaction. C.S. Lewis was comparing that to his belief that God has given him, and us, the gifts that we possess, and to serve him the way we should, we should do it humbly-realizing how we got the gifts in the first place."
Nice. Never knew any of that apart from the name of the band.
I also never knew this so thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the background!
Yes, thanks for that.

Very nice… there is still good in this world. Great job..

Wonderful Mamy Ellen !!!
Always go on like this....and the music will survive....
I will never tire of listening to your songs...
Look at Mom rocking the bass!
I heard this song way too many times shopping at Lowe’s as an ‘okay’ cover by Sixpence.
I went ahead and gave it a listen because I knew you all would do something amazing with it… and if course you did!! Absolutely wonderful execution!
Amazing and perfect as always. Thanks so much for this. I needed some good news as a TROPICAL storm heads for us here in SOCAL. Way too much rain coming our way.
I really noticed the fancy bass work, Mom. That was a pleasure to hear in support. Well done!
