  • Qatar, one of the richest countries on the planet, will be hosting the World Cup in 2022. But much of the Gulf state's expansion is being built by some of the poorest migrant workers in the world.

In the worst cases, employees are not being paid and work in conditions of forced labour. Each month dozens of young Nepalese migrant workers are returning home in coffins.

yea we should or threatening fifa that countries will take their money somewhere else and make a new Football company that isn`t corrupt or allows smaller countries to get reward while bigger nations (like The US and Australia) to get punish (like how the US and Switzerland are looking into bribing people to vote for that country that bribe the country to host the world cup) the thing is that Canada,United States, and Mexico should boycott the 2022 and moved it to either Japan or Australia(which HAVE the stadiums but can update them so it can hold more people in it) If the New President doesn`t moved it or stripped Qatar its rights to host the 2022 world cup then Canada, the US, and Mexico should give back their hosting duties and tell FIFA to go shove it where the Sun doesn`t shine and that the Swiss gov. should take fifa Non-profit rights away because they either lied to the swiss gov. about how much money they made or that they are using the "non-profit" as a cover up so they don`t have to paid taxes in the country

This so unbelievable, those workers are not getting paid for months!! How are they suppose to support themselves with such unfair treatment? It really hurt when that 16 year old boy came home in a coffin...And here I am feeling gloomy that the guy I like didn't talk to me in uni today. When I graduate, hopefully I can help out workers like these.

Very depressing: 8:24 ; this is modern slavery and surprisingly the UN is doing nothing satisfactory to change the current situation.

The interviewees state that they were promised a lot higher wages. They acted upon these promises adn were cheated by the Dubai/Qatar contractors, who also illegaly stole their travel documents and passports. What on earth are you talking about?

Qatar has no minimum wage, so it's private companies that set a wage thats agreed upon, stadiums were built by an American construction company, and a British designer.

It goes much, much beyond the world cup, The way this, and other Gulf state treat foreign migrant workers is nothing short of outrageous, and we in the West who pander to them and prop them up are complicit in that.

Africans fought in WW2 for job opportunities back home. Some were shot whilst protesting for benefits promised. All the slaves who worked to build Europe , all the those who died under King Leopold in the Congos and never got reparations ...they share the same tomb as these migrants. Let's treat the human race with respect
