      @@Mumfy64That's good for weight at least. I'm looking at the 285-70 17s in SL for my 4Runner, they're 48 lbs each which is much more reasonable. 4 months later, are you still happy with them?

      Almost any new off road tire will perform reasonably. The true test of any off road tire is at their half life mark, or when half the tread depth is gone.

    Running a 37x12.50x17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT on my Gladiator Rubicon and I absolutely love them!! The tire has preformed flawlessly in all conditions. Mud, rock Canadian winter and no matter what I throw at them they never disappoint. Out preforming BFG ko2’s and Wildpeak AT3W’s (side by side comparison in winter and mud). Only downside is they’re heavy and require a lot of weight to balance. Would I buy them again??…… ABSOLUTELY!

    I’ve run several types of tires on my Jeep and Ram trucks. Mostly MTs but a couple hybrid tires as well. I run dirt, mud, snow up here in the Washington State mountains. I started researching tires that were close to a Blizzak tread design for the rain and snow up here. Finally Mickey Thompson came out with an aggressive looking tire with factory sipped tread. I would get about 30,000 miles running Maxxis Razor MTs or Toyo MTs on my Ram 2500. I’m really looking forward to the next 30,000 miles to compare the two. So far running in the big rain up here I’ve noticed a huge difference in handling in heavy rain and gravel roads. I believe this will be the best tire ever made for my type of driving.

    I had the same issue with the Ridge Grapplers. In rain they were terrible for traction. I had a few scary moments driving on them in heavy rain. Went with Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s after and they are so much better!

      @rxw5520 Před 7 měsíci

      I thought about wildpeak but the treads and sidewalls looked like more on road tires. I suspected they are the best on road because they’re by far the least aggressive and probably sit in between categories. Never seen them off-roading or in snow next to ridge grapplers or Baja bosses. I have Baja boss but haven’t gotten into heavy rain yet. There’s more siping than the nittos and the rain reviews are better, but we’ll see.

    Toyo makes a 285/75/17 AT tire. I ran their mud terrains on my old Jeep and thought they were great. I opted for the 35x10 or 255’s on my new Jeep. So far I think they are a little noisy for all-terrains but riding around in a soft top with mud terrains for 10 years has made me immune to tire noise. Plus there isn’t a ton of new music I would prefer over the hum of the tires.😂

    I have Wildpeak AT3Ws in the same size on my 4R. It’s always tempting to go bigger but the stress on everything from the steering rack to the spindles to needing to regear has me thinking I’ll stick with 285s for now. The AT4Ws (C-load) and these in E are on my list. Leaning towards these but we will see how the AT4Ws pan out for people as they rack up miles.

    I’ve got roughly 43k miles on my ridge grapplers and I hate driving in the rain with them. No matter how aggressively or conservatively I accelerate, I always slide. There have been 2 experiences when I thought I’d total my truck due to the ENTIRE truck sliding when turning. So ready to get rid of them but trying to get as many miles out of them as possible. Not to mention that after 10k miles I noticed the rubber between the treads were cracking

    Have had many tires over the years from Interco Trxus STX rough, great off-road. Pirelli Scorpion A/T+ great on road ok off. General Grabber A/T average all around not great. Have Baja Boss A/T now. Technology has come a long way. Great all around and almost as quiet as the Pirelli's on road. Even now with 25K miles they are quiet and have plenty of tread left. Best tires I have had! Mine are 285/70/17 on a 4Runner. E rated, I would go with the lighter one's if I get another set. No issues, just hurt my gas mileage a bit and the softer sidewalls may help the ride...

      Weren’t the Goodyear duratracs the first mountain/snow or “3 peak” rated tire available roughly 12 years ago? I don’t understand the hate those tires get today compared to the love people had for them when the 3.6 was new to wranglers. 2012 ish

    • @domingod4648
      @domingod4648 Před 7 měsíci

      @@angeloplanes8497 ha, except the 3 peak rating doesn’t mean anything. It just means it met the MINIMUM requirements to make it a “snow tire” the test to get that little logo is very easy to accomplish, there’s a few CZcams videos on how the 3peak logo actually doesn’t mean much… Most All seasons are able to get the 3peak, even if they don’t have the actual logo.
      Also, my Baja Boss’ are installed on my truck and I went on a few hunting trips in THICK snow, ice and mud in the Alberta Rocky Mountains, We had a 12” snowfall happen a few weeks back and my Mickeys absolutely shocked me. They did phenomenal compared to my Duratrac’s. Honestly can’t recommend the Baja Boss AT’s enough. I’ll never be buying Good Year ever again.

      My Tacoma came with Good Year Duratrac and they were losing traction in the rain at 24000. Very loud and chattered causing vibration when coming to a stop a turning slowly. Just got Baja Boss AT’s as a replacement and there is no comparison!! Baja looks so much better and feels so much smoother and the traction was awesome in deep water on highway yesterday. Btw kept my alignment on point with the Good Years and got rid of them at 24000

      @Mumfy64  Před 7 měsíci

      I thought I ordered the LTs and not the SLs. That was my mistake, but as far as their performance? They have been leaps ahead of the Nittos. Much better in the rain and looking forward to testing out in the snow. They held up great with low pressure (20psi) on a trail run and as for the road compliance they take bumps like a champ. Keep in mind that the also have a great suspension that helps out as well.
