  • Did you spot while driving that your turn left or right indicator lamp on dash is not blinking every time, it could be the problem with connectors in stalk.
    This is very easy and quick job what you can do yourself to repair it and save money.

    Thank you, I followed the tutorial and everything went well, my left blinker seems to be reliable again!

    Thanks it worked perfectly I added Dialectic grease to the contacts.

    It worked perfectly... the local garage told my wife they’d need removing the dash and buy an expensive part as well. This was easy and 20 minutes start to tools away finish ... had to buy a T25 torque screw driver but $5 ... that’s it.

    Thank you very much for your explanation, done in 20 minutes. Cleaned with nail polish remover and ear sticks.

    Nice tutorial. My signals were sticking and I opened up the stalk and there was a lot of grease in there for some reason. Cleaned it all up and it seems to be working good now. Easy $150 saved in about 10 minutes.

    This seems to be a very common problem, my indicator works intermittently, I’m sure this will solve that problem. Thanks for sharing this info.

    Thank you! 2003 XC-90 T6 AWD. N.C. USA, mine had Dialectic grease good idea!

    • @kierunio
      @kierunio  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes it is but if you don't have dialectic grease you can do it without as I didn't have it. Of course if you add grease it will keep longer clear and work more smooth. However this method is much easier and cheaper than go to service to replace all stalk probably😁 I'm glad it was helpful for you😉

    Worked perfectly on my s60 from 2004. I used a little steel-wool to clean both pads and pins. They looked gold, and now look silver. Easy, fast and cheap fix!

    Very useful. Looks straight forward to attempt. Thanks.
    I also have a problem on the same stalk where the "beam" switch doesn't hold. It must be a mechanical problem within the switch. Any advice or knowledge about that?

      I have the same (bright light) beam issue. Been thru two OEM signal/bright beam/read control units (at $110 ea) from Volvo. Gonna try this cleaning fix, as it only take a few minutes to remove and replace. Wish I would have l kept the last unit to try this on. Thank you.

      If you switch the lights into the on position you’re full beam with then hold

  • @davellewellyn9306

    Sadly didn't work for me, also tried another stalk. i think there is something else wrong as the messages also don't work on this stalk when you rotate the dial or try to the reset button so i think there could be a problem somewhere on the steering wheel in the pcb or further along to the other pcb's. may have to book it in with an auto electrician or independent Volvo specialist. probably gonna cost a fortune i suppose.

    I have positioned an indicator switch for a disabled person on the right side of steering wheel. The switch is needed as person cannot use the original with left hand. I have 3 wires and i want to connect them to the original indicator wires of this car. I have no electric diagram. Do you know what wires to use. I opened everthing up as shown on your video but cannot do it from the inside. I have tried to connect my wires to the wires coming out through a plug but cannot locate the original indicator car wires. I found Lights (low and high), horn but not the indicators.
