calm down with the 2am uploads
Thanks for posting info about items etc especially for the Sony A6000. I just got this camera this year and it's still new to me. Keep the videos coming, love them all. 😁👍👍👌
They're fantastic lenses. Light, compact, affordable, and really great IQ.
I have all 3 of these lenses on my A600 and they are absolutely fantastic, especially given the price.
Awesome contrast and colors of the studio, Danny!! Getting the view out of window is a really nice touch!
Great video, and I will look forward to more in-depth view of these from you.
I got the 30mm f1.4 and I love it so much that I ended up getting the 16mm f1.4, the 35 with OSS is great but with the sigma I never had to go below 1/60s so I got not a lot of use for OSS
This is what I been waiting for thanks
I had the 30mm and I absolutely loved it!
Very sharp and colourful video. Can you please tell me which lens and lut were used for this video.
I have the entire 2.8 sigma line and they're great budget choices. I picked up all 3 for like 375 total. I'm totally happy and they take great photos for the $$$.
I have 18-105nmG, 35mm 1.8 lenses for a6500 can I use them for full frame cameras as well?
the image quality, comparisons and showing how well they do in low light comparatively against the 1.4 & 1.8 lenes
Hey! What lens do you suggest I use with the A6000? I’ve been looking at the Silver 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens. I am gonna be doing inside studio work on solid backdrops MOSTLY! Also, I will be doing some outside shoots from time to time. Lastly, is a lens hood necessary and what do you suggest.
Whoa! Those are budget friendly lenses, usually someone says that they are budget friendly and cost like $500+ 😂
Photos for car photos, which is recommended? Thanks.
do you know of a cheaper 24-70 e-mount lens?
Fun fact. DXO actually has the same sharpness score of "16 P-Mpix" for new 30mm f1.8 and this 60mm f2.8. I love the 60mm for outdoor portraits.
can the 19mm f2.8 be used for astrophotography? me being a college student investing on 16mm f1.4 is not possible .
I’ve been eyeing the Sony 35 OSS for a long time but haven’t pulled the trigger due to price point (although I have heard/watched/seen it’s performance and would love to have it). Really looking forward to your mentioned comparison video.. the price on the Sigma 30f2.8 is much more enticing. Thanks for continuing to produce these extremely informative videos for us APS-C folks #APSCisNOTdead 👍
Love your channel 🙌🏾
I'm thinking to buy the sigma 30mm f2.8. All the lens look fantastic for the price point.
They are fantastically sharp! However the 19mm has some severe barrle distortions (as shown in a video from Christoffer Frost) but if thats okay then go for it! I love their 30mm f1.4 ! 300 bucks tho.
Hi, im planning on getting the a6000 and im hesitating between the sigma 19 and 30 mm lenses to go with it. I mainly shoot indoors (in abandoned places) so similar to real estate photography.. id also use it for travelling. Would the 30mm be too much of a “close up” for indoor photography? (I dont do portraits at all)
I have the 19 and 30, like them both, the 30 can struggle with purple fringing in high contrast, but they are both really sharp, and nice neuteal color.
See if the 19mm has the issue with auto focus where the sides of the frame pulsate. I sent my lens back to Sigma for repair or replacement. They are saying they cannot duplicate the pulsating so many people are having
Your shooting space is very cool Bro!
i need to get these lenses for my sony
I have the 19mm and 60mm and love the 60mm a lot.. would love to see your review of the 30mm.
AF Noise during video was thought to be poor on this line of sigma lenses. Has that changed recently?
There are a lot of videos out there about the autofocus issue with these lenses. In video af-c mode they keep pulsating/hunting whatever you call it,but it makes the background vibrating, which is kind of a bummer for video use:/
Can't wait for the follow up videos. I have been Looking for affordable sense for my a6300 and these sigmas seem great untill I saw the weird focus breathing on the 19mm f2.8. Hope you will explore video performance.
The 60mm 2.8 is great for close ups when making videos. The autofocus is fast on the Sony A6500 too.
I use the Sigma 60mm f2.8 on my Sony a6500 for food photos, and I love it !!!
how close does it focus?
Good first impressions quality of those images look sharp just wish they made a much wider one 10 ~ 14 is there not really a market for that focal range?
i am interested in these 3 lens, because i would like to start my sony arsenal of lens but have small budget, i have a a6500 with the 2 kit lens, so i would like to know if they are worth it
Hey Cruzroy, I have the A6000 and like you, I have a limited budget. I bought the 19mm and 30mm 2.8 and did not regret it. These lenses are significantly sharper than the kit lens. They're not great for video (they take very clear video but there is the weird pulsing in the corners and you can hear the focus motor slightly when filming); however, if you are using them for photos, I think they are outstanding. I also bought the 50mm 1.8 OSS (another great lens) but toe to toe, the Sigmas will match it in image quality. For the $200 price tag, you can't go wrong IMO as long as you understand the video use has some quirks.
Can you please try the Sigma 24 F1.4 using the a6000? I think the focal length is great for the a6000
Any plan to do the 19mm & 30mm lens review?
The only lens I have for my A6000 is the Sigma 19mm f2.8 which is my "bag" camera or for light traveling. Basically a glorified smartphone camera as they both give an equivalent 28mm but with a nice APS-C 24MP sensor.
I've had the lens a couple of years now and for the money my only two complaints are that it is awkward for manual focus because it doesn't have a proper focus grip and the ring sticks a bit now since it's all plastic and well worn in. The other one is if you recording video while the camera is stationary (tripod) with AFC enabled on a static frame (landscape).. (which I know is pointless)... it does this weird micro hunting thing which you can see more in the corners. Don't know if this is the camera or lens though as this is my only Sony setup.
Also don't worry when you shake the lens and hear something inside rattling... that's the electronic aperture mechanism floating around while not active.
I have them all and they are great lenses for my Sony A6000.
Have you done a zoom lens comparison on aps
Very good selection in your choice. I have the Sigma 19mm, 60mm and now 30mm f1.4 // The 60mm is fantastic low price lens! It is sharp enough I often croped my picture or foind two or tree pictures in one frame. In low light the 30mm f1.4 is very usefull with also great optical quality. I use very few time my 19mm it doesn't fit with my style of photos.
Would be great to see a comparison with the rumored Sigma 50 1.4 that's supposedly coming out soon and the 60 here. If it does exist and comes out soon I'd love a shootout of those two.
I had that 60/2.8 for some time now, also the 50/1.8 and new 16/1.4. F2.8 might not be that useful and 60mm is kinda strange, but say whatever you want, to my eyes this 60mm is still one of the sharpest lenses I have, beating even most of my FF glass - at least on a6x00.
Hi, I'm torn between 56 1.4 and 60 2.8 for the next purchase. Have you had the chance to compare them? I already own 30 1.4, so I guess I have the low light performance when needed. I'm a bit worried about DOF and IQ of 60 vs 56.
i looking for a nice portrait lens maybe you can make a short compare to the Sony FE SEL-85F18 :)? for me it is interesting how far or near the lenses is to the 60mm and if its worth to spend so much more money 😵
for the other lenses test i think a big point for someone could be how big is the difference in focusing speed/eye focus in lower light condition? (for example taking fotos from kids)
also interesting does the focus works in continuous shooting as well ass the 50mm sony lens?
btw i like your great job! thanks a lot🙃
I so want to see the applications of these lenses on conventions
Is it true that these lenses where developed before Sony gave the e-mount autofocus protocol and Sigma had to backward engineer for these to work?
The 60mm 2.8 is one of the sharpest lenses you can get for the APS-C Sony's. A true under the radar bargain, I paid £75 for a used copy and it consistently amazes.
adidasaddict I’ve been debating. I sometimes shoot in lowlight though so I’m leaning towards the Sony 50 cause it’s at 1.8. Maybe I’ll change my mind towards the end of the video.
I much prefer the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS
yup! I've had the sony 50mm and still own the sigma. I would always much rather use the sigma. Sure, it doesnt have OSS, but I personally dont need it. I much prefer the sharper sigma.
Sony also focuses over the whole frame, has stabilization, 1.3 stops brighter. The IQ difference may be negligible compared to steady shots at lower ISO and lower shutter speed. I love Sigma lenses in general. The 19 and 30mm make more sense compared to the Sony offerings.
@@RathJ13 Would it be worth getting the 60 mm Sigma if you already have the 50 mm 1.8? I shoot mostly portraits.
I own the 30mm from this series. It extremely sharp!
yea but how expensive are those faster lenses in comparison cuz most people dont have the money to shell out for a faster prime lenses f2.8 is pretty decent especially considering that sony handles noise pretty good
my friend what kind of camera are you recommend me I want to spend like $1,000 I want something to take nice pictures and beautiful videos thanks for your help
Hi guys, I'm a Amateur Photographer and I have a Sony a6000.
I always shot RAW but I realized something.
My pics comes out of the camera with the sharping and the colour noise reduction preset. Why is this happening? I thought RAW is the image in it's pure form.
Can somebody help me?
Hi man, first of all, love your videos! I have a sigma 16mm 1.4 and i want a second prime lens for portrait video work. I’m thinking about the sony 50mm 1.8 OSS. Would you recommend this lens combination? Thanks in advance man!
I have the Sony 50mm 1.8 OSS and the Sigma 60mm 2.8, if sharpness is a concern the Sigma 2.8 is WAY SHARPER but you do lose on aperture. All I can say is I have much better photos out of the Sigma 2.8 60mm.
adidasaddict thanks for sharing your info! I really need bokeh in my shots so i think i will go for the 50mm with it’s f1.8. Do you still think it’s great for filming close ups/details (b-roll) etc?
Had the 19mm & 30mm 2.8 sigma, they where not very sharp, sold them both and got the 16mm & 30mm 1.4 instead - World of difference. I kept however the 60mm, as it is extremely sharp, and clearly the best of the trio.
And also throw in the 16mm f2.8 Sony in the 19mm 2.8 vs 16mm 1.4 sigma comoarison.
Please, could you compare the 2 sigma 30's with the Sony 28 f2. The 60 2.8 is such a great and cheap offering from Sigma. Super sharp!
I'd love to see a 16 1.4 vs 19 2.8 sharpness comparison!
Agreed but depends on your standards. For online posting the 2.8 is plenty but if this is your primary gear which you expect the best results from then go with the more expensive option in this case. The older lenses were designed for the NEX range which have been vastly improved with the newer A6x00 models.
Plus the two choices do give a different FOV so do you prefer the fast wide look of a 24mm equivelent or the smartphone look with 28mm? Only 4mm apart but they make a difference.
I'm primarily looking for a budget wider lens for video. I have an a6000 and I already have the sigma 30 1.4, but I just want a wider cheaper lens for video.
60mm lens link is the same as the 30mm one!
Thanks!
Yes!!
Have you done a review on the new rokinon e mount af lenses? If not, can you? Haha
awesome. Lens dude
I love sony A6000 but i can't. Buy. This camera
3 amazing lenses ..... highly recomend & if you buy them used they are really cheap... great Video Danny ... #APSCisnotdead
I only have sigma 30mm f2.8, i use it with sony a5000
Beware - in AF-S mode it focuses throughout the frame, but prefers center, and phase-detect AF only works in center. So it basically is center phase-detect AF, and only if it doesn't acquire focus in center, using slow contrast-detect AF camera tries to focus outside of the center. It is a serious disadvantage compared to Sony's lenses.
I own the 30mm f2.8. great lens , nice sharpness n affordable price. But not that good like the Sony I think since oss really work great on a6000 & a6300 plus the f stop.
Hehehe, those 3 6300’s Vong was joking about the other night... there they are. And Oastlers video just before yours about the rumored specs for the a7sIII at Photokina.. oh mah gawd.. now it’s time for that apsc Touit vs Sigma shootout #apscmaynotbedead #tootalldanny #cantgowrongwithethevong #potatolive
i use the sigma 16mm with my a6000
what about the lack of stabilization?
@@NTHNGLIKEDEEZ i use a gimbal. the moza air. but honestly the lens is wide enough to not get like severe micro jitters
Patrick Joseph Leano nice. thanks.
Just buy the 16, 30 and the new 50 1.4's if you want the sharpest and best in low light. Buy the Sony 35 and 50 1.8 if AF speed matters and if 2.8 is enough wait for the new 16-50 to be released
Sigma needs to make a 16-55 f2.8 lens for Aps-c E-mount.
i love the 30mm 2.8 vs the 1.4. having use it for weddings, the 30mm snap focus slow but accurate, but with the 1.4, it snaps fast but not accurate, for the 2 copies i owned. :((
the 50mm 1.8 suits me more compared to the 60mm 2.8.
did you update to the latest firmware ?, i updated and have 0 problems now
@@farzan8206 yes. good to know! did update to the latest but not sure whether its my copy or what. hopefully its just the copy.... because the 30mm 1.4 has the sharpest and affordable lens
I would swap the 19mm for the 16mm but thats just me!
I prefer the 30mm 1.4. $320 is nearly double the price of the 2.8 but you’re getting nearly 2 stops more light :)
And + + + in picture quality.
Sigma 16mm 1.4 is the best lens for the 6000!
My favorite is the little Sigma 30 F2.8. The Sigma 60 is sharper, and I like the longer focal length, but I find the Sony 50 F1.8 OSS more practical. I prefer the Sony 20 over the Sigma 19. The F2.8 Sigmas were probably not designed for the Sony filter stack, which could be why the wider lenses have more optical issues.
Liked it by just looking at the thumbnail
No boke 🤨
I hate that glossy finish on the Sigma 'ART' lenses.
Saad Azzahrani These are not art lenses though.
greysuit17 Yes they are, look them up. They are labeled as 'A' which stands for art lenses.
Saad Azzahrani my fault... it’s kind of confusing when you look these lenses up they just call them DN and don’t mention Art. All the Art lenses for Sony when you look it up say Art in the name and seem to be more robust in build quality and wider apertures. But apparently they are Art lenses... www.google.com/amp/s/photographylife.com/sigma-lens-abbreviations/amp
greysuit17 I think the DN in the name is in all their mirrorless-only lenses. I remember looking that up a few months ago 😅.
Sigma 19mm f/2.8 Art is poor man version of Leica Q for Sony APS-c
These are excellent quality lenses (for the money) for photography, but (except maybe for the 60 mm lens) they are useless for video due to terrible pulsating effect in AF mode.
I have experienced this AFC issue too but didn't know if it was the camera or lens because its the only Sony combo I have.
It's the magnetic lens motor that's causing that breathing effect. The only way to get rid of it is to switch to manual focus whenever possible (or to buy a different lens...).
When I got my A6500 I bought the 50mm 1.8. Didn’t like so I sold it and got the Sigma 60mm and saw an improvement in sharpness still I felt something was missing so I sold it and got the 55mm 1.8 used in top condition. And was so glad that I did. The photos captured with it is amazing. Another reason that I got it was because I had planned on getting a full frame camera later. I now have my A7III and I still plan on keeping my 55 even though I have a Tamron 28-75 on my camera at the moment. I had planned on selling my A6500 but I like that camera so much that I couldn’t part with it. So these 2 cameras are the ones that I use the most. I like that I can use full frame lens on my APS-C body so I look to buy full frame lens. The only APS-C lens that I have right now is the 18-105.
I have the 60mm one and honestly i'm dissapointed in its quality. The only thing this lens can offer you is sharpness and autofocus. No stabilization, no crazy boken, focus ring is meh and they get scratched in an instant.
None of them have stabilisation, no problem for me, even at 1/15sec.
50mm 1.8 is a much better buy than these. The three lenses aren't worth the money.
The Sony 50mm 1.8? I find that lens very average, the 60mm Sigma is way sharper and takes nicer photos IMO, of course the aperture is not as useful.
Rubbish comment....
I'm going to assume that you mean that the COMBINED cost of these three lenses are not as good a value as one good mid prime, the Sony 50mm 1.8. Is that right?
So much negativity. In my country the Sony 50mm f1.8 is just $50 more than say a 30mm f2.8 Sigma (not talking about used prices). So, I do think that is a much better value.
I like your video's, but have to downvote because of this annoying music when you talk. There is a reason you NEVER see it in professional productions.... please change in future video's!:)
