For controllers, you can change the button layout now. Theres an option to switch the icarus dash from double tap B to just tap B. It makes a huge difference.
Yo brave with the burst glide u can go faster if u do legit just spam space cuz it will boost u forward more than once and if u jump to scroll down and space bar then u can press space once and tge just go ham on the scroll wheel and u go so fast faster than burst icarus
Oh and with the heat rises tips its actually hella predictable now cuz pretty much everyone is playing top dawn so hovering off the map is kinda a "oh ur hovering over the map hm typical top dawn" not a "whoa this guys smart he flew off the map and got me because i wasnt paying enough attention" im not trynna hate on u what so ever but it is just so predictable now that if i was in a trials game id be surprised if the top dawns on the other team werent hovering over the abyss
You can also blink to the ground if your momentum is going that way. Falling from a high distance or at a high speed you can blink to the ground at the right time for no damage.
Heat rising adds air accuracy. Do I need Icarus mod on sniper??
If you’re on console you can change the icarus dash from double press to press, it will make your dashing much faster and easier.

JB Gaming you beat me by 28 seconds haha was just about to ask for more info. I tried to bind my dash to one off my paddles but found it VERY temperamental and unreliable after the console update
JB Gaming menu>settings>controller>button layout>custom>Warlock Icarus Dash and change to press

With the blink, you teleport farther if you hold down the jump button than if you tap it, but it also takes longer for blink to activate, just a little known mechanic so keep that in mind

@Eric Montgomery true and it also comes down to if you know how to use the character. Theres alot of op movement abilities that most people dont take advantage of. Like blink( usually because they think its too hard to use) or heat rises with top tree dawnblade. Or icarus dash aswell. Or any of the quick blinks on the top tree arc supe and the middle tree nova supe
I was a hunter since destiny came out. Literally have almost all the hunter exotics in d2. I tried warlock and I really like too tree dawn movement. It makes the game so much fun.

Quick tip for console users remap the double crouch press to a single press to icarus dash it save time and makes it easier since u cant crouch mid air

This is a fantastic series dude. Movement in Destiny is probably the single greatest tool to master. Even if your aim needs improvement, if they can't kill you then you've got the forgiveness to miss a shot or two.

8:41, thanks for that example, learned a new tech. You completely misdirected that opponent. Icarus dash away from the initial push to avoid damage, Icarus again to create space, shotgun blast to punish, and slide out of the lane to escape. Your teammates capitalized on the distraction you caused.
Wait I need help, wen ur doing the icarus dash part of the jump, do u want to use ur jump ability before u icarus dash, or just icarus dash as ur falling from a normal jump
If you are on any of the razor gaming pads then the Joystick next to the space is perfect as a dash control.
Great vid brother
ive found that the fastest way to move with warlock is clicking Jump Jump Icarus Dash very fast. This will give you huge momentum and allow you to traverse some maps extremly fast. You can do that double jump dash 2 times before getting a cooldown. Or if you time it right you can have 3 dashes but with a lower max speed.
I love using icarus dash with burst glide, I get so fast!

Just wanna point out that burst glide is good on top tree dawnblade. I dont run top tree dawn i use mid tree arc for the super and id use a strafe glide for it. Same goes for void of which i use bottom tree nova bomb for the projectile speed and devour. Might have the glide names wrong as i havnt properly played in bout 6 months. Im a littke rusty lol

my take: Scroll wheel is best bound to jump imo and your abilities bound to your mouse side buttons (if you have 2 this is perfect!)
I think Blink is competitive but it allows for absolutely zero mistakes. So when you're considering effort exported into value received it's definitely not the option for most.

Icarus dash skating can be done on console its just muscle memory and practice. I use puppeteer control scheme to do it but it can be done on the default control scheme! Just a heads up :)

I read guide other day talking about warlock jump mechanic which is jump jump dash jump dash is this not relevant anymore? This video doesn't seem to mention it, quite opposite actually jumping when going down instead of instantly.

If ya got a basic gaming mouse, I recommend putting your Dash on your thumb button so you can use it highly reactively and without taking your finger off the trigger.

Been maining warlock since late d1, can confirm these are good tips.
Eventually you learn the glide's nuances by heart which is crucial for maneuverability. Remember the amount of time it takes until it automatically cancels out and the time it takes for you to start decending, keeping height is very important as a warlock ad it takes ages to build up.
I also used to rock transversives all the time, can confirm 👌 they are beautiful.
What about ophidian aspects?

My pvp experience in this game...que match with radar = last spot, que match without radar = 1st spot. I could learn with practice to use the radar, except it really just kill my game vibe, having me react to radar instead of to my surroundings. Decent game, with nice looks, strategic pve, but pvp a bit strange here and there.

Movement is definitely my weakest point as a warlock main.
I just got used to being grounded on most of the FPS games I played in the past which is a huge disadvantage in the game.
I often find myself getting outmaneuvered even when I correctly read the situation and even predict my opponents move.
I need to work on my verticality game.
Now that stasis is in the game... how does one have movement with that class?
You need to aquire the exotic item, "The garbage can" and dump your subclass into it

How are you dashing around corners like that while still on the ground
I'm not sure what specific instance you mean so I can't directly reply. But if you're crouched you can press jump and Icarus dash and you can dash without leaving the ground. It takes a little practice to implement into active play though
I find on console while gliding using the icarus dash will still give you a speed boost.

Good video, but some parts are hard to follow for console/controller players
100% understand. Knowing that some stuff can be performed on Console and other stuff can be done on PC. I thought it would have been good to demonstrate it and leave it up to the player to see if it could work on their platform, such as dodging to create space on Console and other tips.
I didn’t want to just say that this only work on X Platform when someone could potentially make their own variation of it.
But next time I’ll see if I can put an icon at the bottom with each platform.

for warlocks, the threat isn't hunters trying to get in your face and melee you, its the titans with shotguns that melee you.

After playing warlock i realized how op they are. Hunters have good movement but surprisingly warlocks are faster and more agile than hunters.
Warlocks only really have speed. Nothing tops a stompees hunter in terms of movement
@@juliorudolph265 Warlocks have speed, icarus dash, transiverse steps (which are as good as stompees) they have extreme vertical movement and momentum based skating. Hunters have dodge, stompees and triple jump....

You don’t have a lot of control with burst glide that’s strafe glide
If you burst down and using your camera angle. It’s pretty similar to the strafe burst but with more speed. I will say that the draw back would be in super. Your pretty limited in movement

Tell me about it. I’ve used it on PS4. Unlike PC where you can swap to Strafe Burst for your super. I can only imagine how console is when it takes forever to load up the menu.
