    i recently got these and these are perfect.. Noise cancelling is perfect when these are set to full noise cancelling you will not hear somebody talking to you to the point where I've had people nudging me to get my attention.. Sound wise these are excellent, the sound is just very tight and detailed you will hear all sounds and instruments coming from all directions and the sound will surround you and this is me just listening to music on volume level 2.. Comfort wise again these are perfect and very comfortable I've used these for hours without discomfort.. Call quality these are unbeatable for calls.. Oh and these also support multi point connection.. Battery life is only 20hrs and this is where I think bose can improve.. Build quality is solid and you can feel the premium quality.. I've had the sony MX3's previously and I can honestly say the bose 700 is the perfect package.. highly recommended..

    Well done professional video. I'm from the states, but lived and worked in Egham around 1990 for a few years and went to London many times and know how noisy the tube used to be when they were below the ground. I wish I had headphones like that in those days. I currently have the QC 35 and they are really a good set of quality headphones and just ordered a refurbished 700 and look forward to using those as well.

      That is true. Bose has a flat-ish response curve. I think Bose offers 90 days return policy (in the UK) so I would suggest keep the headphones for a few weeks to allow for the sound to grow on you and then return it if you don't like it.
      If you do return it, try the Sony's XM4s. I am sure you will like their sound signature better. 🙂

      He he! Thanks Kevin :) It's a new channel I started in September 2020 and so far, it seems to be doing alright as you suspected :)
      In all honesty, I have never had this issue with Bose products in general (including the headphones). But if I was to guess it could either be that you got a unit which had a quality issue -OR- it could also be because of humidity and / or heat if you live in a hot area.

      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +1

      Got it.. now I understand. Sorry initially I thought that the silicone band on ur headphone was getting detached from the metal body. Apologies.. Morning brain 😳
      Anyhow, that crimp was caused by everyday wear.. I use the headphones for most part of my day even on weekends (I would say 8-9 hours on workdays and 5-6 hours on weekends).. I suspect that but if I were to leave the headphones alone for a week or so they will retract to the natural shape.. but ya overall they don't make the headphones less comfortable or ruin the overall experience.

      Hi thanks a lot for leaving a comment and so glad that you liked the review :))
      The headphones have a setting which was introduced in one of the post launch firmwares called 'remember last setting'. So just let me know :))

      @@ToThePointReviewsComparisons I would be happy if you tried it :)

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi, just tried it. There are 2 options for turning off the NC.
      1. Turn off NC
      2. Set NC to 0
      Option 1 completely turns off the digital NC module and the headphones behave as if they were a normal pair of headphones.
      With Option 2, it stops generating negative audio signals to cancel the noise but the microphones on the headsets stay on pushing the environmental noise in.
      No matter which option you select from above 2, it remembers the last state. So if you turn off NC and switch off the headphones and turn them back on later; the setting stays as it was prior to turning off the headphones.
      I hope this clarifies. Feel free to reach out should you have more questions :)

    Can you charge the headphones by using the apple charger? Since it’s the same plug?

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Crystal, you can use iPhone or MacBook charger to charge these headphones. More details below:
      If you are using the iPhone charger, then you would need to buy a USB Type-C cable (this will either be a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable -OR- USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable depending on which port does your iPhone charger has, which depends on how old it is). Alternatively, if you don't want to carry and extra cable, you can buy a Lightning to USB Type-C adaptor which can be attached to your existing Lighting Cable as and when needed.
      For MacBook chargers, as long its a Type C charger (I think Apple has been using USB Type-C for its laptops since 2015) you should be good to go.

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi, thanks for your comment :)
      I personally have owned both QC35 and 35IIs. Both the 35s have really bad call quality as the Bluetooth picks on a lot of environmental noise. Plus there is no way you can adjust 'self-voice' when on calls which then adds to the overall noise level.. it's almost as if you weren't wearing a NC headset when on calls. NC700 allow for noise cancellation on outgoing calls plus all you to adjust the 'self voice' from off to low to med to high.. i personally find this very helpful as I can make calls and get clear audio no matter I am home or out and about.
      NC700 also have better NC quality. The sound signature is tad bit brighter. But if this is your first Bose product then the audio signature won't be a concern as it's still quite flattish for a BT headset. NC700 also support AAC for Bluetooth.
      So overall yes, they are better buy than the qc35 (IMO)
      Hope this helps :)

    An unfortunate surprise I got when I bought them, and something not a lot of people seem to mention, is that they work very badly on your PC... sometimes people can't hear my voice on Teams or the notification on my phone pause my music on the pc, you have to switch manually between stereo and mic mode, because mic mode is mono and sounds pretty bad, Also none of the buttons on the headset except the volume and the bluetooth one work on pc (No assistant, no mute, no taking/leaving calls, no noise cancelation settings...). The connection from the laptop is lost constantly too.
    I realize there is a bose usb dongle you can get for this headset, but it is not available in Spain :')
    So I had to import it from the US paying 30$ shipping and I'm still waiting on it... let's see if these problems are solved with it (My hopes are way up)

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před rokem +1

      Hi Kuriblu, thanks for leaving a comment. The problems you are facing, some of them are unfortunately how windows manages and prioritises various devices. You shouldn't have to select between profiles ever. It should ideally work seamlessly. To fix this, try this:
      - Connect your headphones to your PC.
      - On your PC go to the start menu and search for 'Sound Settings' when it opens, scroll to the bottom to 'More Sound Settings'. Now you should have a legacy windows sound settings panel.
      - Under the 'Recording' tab please make sure that you have selected 'Headset' (your Bose headset) as the 'Default Communication Device.
      - Under 'Playback' select 'Headphones' (your Bose headphones) as the default device (this will set the headphones as the default device for both calls aka mono headset profile and normal audio).
      - In MS Teams, you would then need to select 'Bose headphones' not 'Customised setup'. This will automatically set your Bose headphones as your default for incoming and outgoing audio (mic and headset).
      Unfortunately, Windows does a really bad job of managing audio devices and their priority. On top MS Teams makes it even more complicated. Then there is another layer of complication i.e. Windows devices can have endless no. of Bluetooth chipsets where in slightest of differences in coding of these chipsets can cause compatibility issues. This is true for any Bluetooth headsets out there. Windows also doesn't have drivers for controls built in for most of the headphones out there. They usually build generic drivers which allow basic functionality. This is the reason why, in the past when manufacturers use to build devices which required controlling their hardware through the software on windows would built custom drivers for their devices. This is a very expensive idea coz it requires them to build compatible drivers for multiple hardware. Also, with the recent change in the way the software industry works as a whole, manufactures don't have to build custom drivers rather the operating systems are build with open standards which then if the hardware manufacturers build their hardware around, then they don't have to worry about drivers. Windows architecturally doesn't work like this.
      Oh and one more thing, you can change the input setting for the headset's mic on windows. The default for that is 75% and I would suggest that you bump it to 100%. Under MS teams, uncheck automatic control of microphone input and change the input level to 100%
      Hope this helps. Do keep me posted on how it goes with Bose's USB dongle goes. Would be keen to find out. Thanks again for leaving a comment : )

    I want to buy a pair of headphones for listening to meditative audios while lying down.Would you suggest the Bose 700?I recently bought and returned the SONY XM4 because they felt a little loose and wobbly even at the smallest headband setting.

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question shabierism. I literally just tried them on to answer your question. I tried once with and once without the pillow. This is because how one's head rests in these two situations. In both the positions the headphone didnt wobble off my head. So I tried shaking my head gently and they still stayed put.
      When lying without the pillow I had to adjust the positioning of the headset on my head to ensure they the band doesn't slip backwards. I didn't have the need to tighten them.
      Would I recommend them for meditative audio? Definitely. I use mine for similar audio from time to time. Especially in the morning and evenings. The noise cancelation also definitely helps. Though I would strongly suggest that you turn on your phone notifications when meditating as notification tones can sometimes really ajar you when deeply relaxed. I experienced this recently and for some reason it left me in a partially anxious state for a day 😄

    Nobody talks about the elephant in the room. This is a half duplex equipment, which means that if you choose to use it as headset instead of headphone, it will have a mono sound and a very bad speaker quality, even if you purchase the UC version (my case). This information was confirmed via Bose support.

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jose, good point. I think that might be because its a given because when a Bluetooth headphone is used for calls, all devices automatically trigger Bluetooth HFP. HFP is a mono profile and helps enhance the incoming audio to ensure that the incoming sound is isolated and compressed for better clarity when on phone calls. More importantly phone calls (including VOIP) use a highly lossy codec as it helps limit bandwidth to reduce audio issues. This is how Bluetooth technology works. BUT there is a way around it…. For when you are using it with Zoom or similar software. You could switch the audio in to Bluetooth headphones and audio out to an external microphone. The incoming audio will be more ‘normal’ and the outgoing audio will be about the same or slightly better as that’s how audio codecs work for communication. Hope this helps :)

      If you are looking for an all rounded good experience Bose is the way to go. It is one of the most comfortable headphones out there with a well rounded sound and unbeatable call quality. Sony's are slightly better when it comes to NC but really bad for long duration wear and call quality. Sound signature is more of a personal taste thing and I personally prefer Bose's sound signature as I find it to be more balanced.
      Hope this helps :)
      PS: I am working on an updated review of the NC 700 will publish soon :)

    Not sure if you should name review 'super detailed' without saying a word about mic/call quality. Especially now, when people work from home.

      Thanks for your comment. I have mentioned call quality and how the headset cancels noise for the outgoing voice on voice calls as well. I believe this is covered in the noise cancellation section. Though I Couldnt get a recording And valid test values for it due to technical limitations. So there are no charts but I definitely do talk about it. Either way happy to take this as a feedback :)
      Thanks again for bringing this up

      @@ToThePointReviewsComparisons My comment was not an attack at all! I think your review is great, but I came here to find out more about the call quality, and I couldn't. I must've missed the part about the mic - sorry. Anyway, without a recording, viewers can't form their own opinion. Good luck!

    Would you rather have the Sony XM3 or the Bose 700?

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Maxx, very good question. Both have pros and cons and in the end it boils down to your preferences based on your lifestyle and usage. Here's a brief summary:
      Price: Sony is cheaper hands down in comparison to Bose. But Bose will have slightly better resale value if you ever plan to sell them
      Active Noise Cancellation: Sony is tad bit better than Bose especially when it comes to cancelling human voice. So they might be better at creating an isolation in a busy office environment.
      Audio quality / perceived sound: This is a very personal thing. I prefer something that sounds well balanced and natural rather than processed. Bose delivers exactly that. Sony is a bit bassier which in my experience gets a bit overwhelming in the long run.
      Voice Calls: This is where hands down Bose wins because it is capable of cancelling environmental noise picked up by the inbuilt microphones when you are making phone calls. Sony's call quality is no where close.
      Comfort: This is also where Bose excels over Sony. You can wear Bose headphones 24/7 and not have a ear or headache (after about 1-2 weeks of use if the headphones are brand new as it takes some time for Bose 700 to adjust to your head). Sony is great for wearing for shorter durations and when worn for long durations it will get your ears warm and will potentially give you a head / ear ache. Comfort for some reason gets ignored by a lot of users but makes a HUGE difference if you want to get something that you want to keep long term.
      Battery life: Sony will last you longer than Bose but that doesn't mean that Bose won't last long enough. I usually use my headphones over 6-7 hours a day and they last me about 2.5-3 days one charge. Sony will last 4-4.5 days in real life usage.
      I hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out should you have more questions / comments 🙂

    • @ToThePointReviewsComparisons
      @ToThePointReviewsComparisons  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi A K, to mute the microphone when on a call, just press the voice assistant button once. The same button will also unmute the microphone when on a call. You will hear an audible confirmation for both these actions. Voice Assistant button is on the bottom of the right earcup (same side where the power button is). Hope this helps.

      Ha ha.. I am not unemployed. It's because I have a senior role in my org, I am often on work calls or listening to music or just using it to calm down the ambient noise. Plus I also use them for watching Netflix and listening to Spotify.. Which easily amounts to 8-12 hours on average. On weekends I don't use them as much. Hope that gives you some context :)

    I have a set and have seldom been so disatisfied with a product. Connecting with bluetooth is so tedious that I often end up throwing my $400 piece of s**t across the room. Often, in order to connect, I have to shut them down and restart and it still takes 30 sec to a minute to connect.
