I have never seen are heard you do a review. I must say this is the best review I have ever heard on the Bose 700 headphones. What makes it so real for me is you and I both love the Bose sound. You and I have both owned bose for about ten years( me 20 years). With you having owned them and liked them, I have the most respect for your review. So much so that not only do I give you a thumbs up, but I have subscribed to you as well. That's saying a lot coming from me. I am a 61-year-old guy that loves live music and good recording sounds. Thank you for your badass review. I almost bought these but you may have saved me from future pains. But I will say Bose is badass too because they replaced your headphones with a new set twice and that just makes me that much more of a Bose guy, still. Thanks. James in Arlington, Texas.

Had a similar problem with my Bose 700 and loaned them to a direct connect user for a few months. After being used as a passive headset for months which ensured the battery was fully discharged, then charging the headset, the problem of clicking in the one earpiece resolved and the Bose 700 is working fine again. I only use my Bose NC700S with one device, so the sound is perfect. At first, I didn't like how they sounded. I thought the sound was okay, but nothing really all that special. However, play around with the EQ settings. That makes all the difference. At first, the app was not accessible with voice over at all. I'm totally blind, so voice over is essential for me on my iPhone. However, there was a recent update to the bose app that I didn't know about and now, I can use the EQ settings with no issues. The noise canceling on these headphones is insanely good. I could be in the livingroom and the TV going and not hear a thing and enjoy my audio book or music. The design of these headphones is so much better then the Sony headphones. The sony headphones sounded great, but they just had so much plastic in them, it made me nervous I might accidentally break them. Just grab the Bose NC700S you won't be disappointed. They are also very comfortable to wear as well.

I just bought the comfort 700 about two weeks ago, and haven't had any problems so far. Otherwise they've been great, especially since I have workers jackhammering the plaster in my pool and to take out all the concrete in my back yard this week while I've been working from home. My office is right above the pool. My many meetings have said they can't hear the jackhammering and although I can still hear it lightly, it's greatly diminished from the actual sound. Trust me- it's LOUD in actual sound. Fingers crossed they continue to work as they are now.

I have Bose 700 for an year, extensively use every day - i have to rechrge it every day (conected to 2 devices all day long and many times i am in calls). Never hat the bubbling sound problem, yet. I spet with them on my head, and also sometimes they were in room with much steam (kitchen, bathroom). So they are very resistent.
I also a quite a few times discharged them completely, so they sometimes just chut down with no warning or thre is little time after the first battery warning. But it tends to be ok after some complete full charges.

I've used the 700s for a year and love them, but I did have to return them for replacement. They just bricked themselves one morning.
Hardware is excellent but software from Bose has had some issues. That being said, noise cancellation is decent and Bluetooth connectivity is excellent.

I've had mine for a year. The touch controls have never functioned well, if at all, except for the volume control. I'm willing to concede operator error on that. My Beats Solo 3's had more than twice the battery life, My mid-range Audio-Technicas were more comfortable on my head (weight distribution), and my Jabra Elite 75's have better sound. Honestly, if it weren't for the amazing fit around my ears (by far the most comfortable of any I've tried) and my big head (size 8 hat), I'd have taken them back to Costco shortly after buying them. A year later and I'm looking for new ear pads cuz the last pair split. I do use them extensively and daily so...then again, I did the same with my AT's and my $150 pair never did that. I agree, no recommendation here either.

Wish I'd had this review before I bought my pair in April!
Mine have been nothing but trouble and I don't think they sound good for the price. My first pair was replaced after being bricked by a software update (the day after the 30 day Amazon return window) and I still have issues swapping between two devices.
The XM4's have USB-C now, so there isn't much of a reason to go for the NC700's anymore.

Do you think they will work good for hiking and biking? I like to listen to lectures (not music) while hiking or biking? Will they stick on ears is the major part? I guess it could cancel the wind noise while biking which could be very handy.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor Před 3 lety

For hiking and biking I'd probably stay away from an overhead headset like the Bose 700. Don't get me wrong, in our review of the Bose 700 we found it to be fantastic. That said, I think other headphones would be more suitable for the active application.
Take a look at the Jabra Elite Active 75t. I think you'd find these to be much more enjoyable for active use.

There is something I did not hear you cover. Maybe you covered it in the earlier reviews? I am totally blind. I have a pair of qc35s, the original not the second series, and the voice prompts are ok. They will tell me who is calling and my battery level when I turn on the headphones and probably a couple of other things. Do the voice prompts speak all necessary info when navigating via touch screen. I'm actually not crazy about touch screens, so will probably just use my bluetooth keyboard which is connected to my ios phone. Also, I am hoping the app is fully accessible with VOiceover. I have the app for my qc35s, but there isn't as much to control so I don't know how accessibility is. Also, I'm guessing there is no way to disable the touch screen? Either way, sounds interesting and loved this review. Hope the popping resolves itself. I know sometimes when I am using my qc35s, I will get a loud squealing sound. If I pause what I am playing, it stops, though it has returned not long after at times. I wish these headphones would beep or something when they are done charging, since I can't see lights. At least I know how long they take to charge lol. Keep up the good work.

    Me after 1 year:
Ear pads are ready for replacement, they really don't last very long.
Really hate the touch control (you can't change volume when there is no audio) and really miss thumb wheel from my old Sony.
You can't use the headphone while charging.
Beside those downsides, it's a comfortable headphone with decent audio and noise cancelling.

I bought this pair of headphones and I've run into too many issues. I have firstly experienced the bubble noise on my left earcup for no reason whatsoever. So I took them to the importer in my country and they got my left earcup replaced. But guess what? After only 1 month the bubble noise started again on the same earcup. They did replace the earcup because I noticed it wasn't the old one. I took them again and this time they gave me a brand new pair. Time goes on so far so good, but after 3 months the cushing on the right earcup got ripped for literally no reason. Luckily they're still under warrenty, but who knows what's going to happen next. This is definitely not worth your money - horrible experience. I wish I had never bought them.

I love mine, except the bass is pretty lacking especially for the price! For example if I play hip hop at max volume it will hit like 96db vs 103db with hard rock at the same settings of full noise cancellation and everything maxed in the eq. Do I have a bad set? It doesn’t sound blown, just extremely lacking in bass volume?

I have just bought the Bose 700. Is the cracking noise issue what is sometimes referred to as "static noise". It is actually quite strong for me when both my phone and my PC are connected. The trick to disconnect the phone is not working that well. The cracking noise is less present but still there. On the other hand if only my phone is connected than it is OK. I also have a pair of Sennheiser pxc 550-II and never experienced such cracking or static noise issue ....

I thought that was a bit harsh! Especially given that Bose reset the warranty when they sent a replacement pair AND replaced them with a new pair - well you can't get much better customer service than that. The whole point of providing decent customer service is to show the customer they're worthy of consideration and help retain customer loyalty, so to say you wouldn't recommend them, especially being a long time customer - if I was bose I would be extremely disappointed with that. Issues with two sets isn't really "multiple" failures, multiple indicates several, not two. It also kind of negates the rest of the video, you might as well not have bothered with the rest of it.

Bought these a a couple of weeks ago. Overall they aren't bad, but I think you should wait for the next new thing. Yamaha came out with their answer to these and they aren't bad, but that's just one example of reasons to wait. For me at least, these become slightly uncomfortable after awhile, maybe 2-3 hours, it's not unbearable, but something to think about. They also have just subpar sound, even with the EQ it doesn't do much, the bass is just not what it should be at this price. They also get a little warm/ stuffy after only one hour. I would honestly think seriously about something other than the 700s

My Sony MX3s also have a "shuffling" or "crackling" noise in the right earcup after 1-2 hours of usage, super annoying.
I almost considered buying these bose headphones instead as a replacement, hoping to find headphones I can use without annoying crackles. I see the comment section being all over the place with this problem, some saying it's about having two devices paired, other saying they bought mx4s instead (which have the same crackling problem, btw..).
Are there ANY good noise cancelling headphones WITHOUT game-breaking issues like a constant crackling sound in one earcup? I'd gladly pay almost anything for that!
