If Spotify gets lossless they win. If Apple gets all my friends to switch they win
if people keeps buying products thinking it’s a football game instead of what’s good for them, everybody loses, corporates win.
Your friends? Why do you need your friends to be on a platform?
@@ALROD as someone that doesn't use what my friend's use i can say that it is very frustrating sharing music links. Sometimes we bother searching the song in our own service other times we are just too lazy to do that.
its not a dealbreaker for me i am still going to use what i think is the best value for me. Currently i am on a youtube music family plan looking to switch to an apple music family plan (atmos is awesome)
@@ALROD to easily share music and playlists.
I mean when they add lossless audio. The prices may go up a dollar or two. Maybe can't confirm but they just might do that. Also, if spotify would just do some redesigning to their app and make their lyrics a bit more like apples where it focuses on the lyric currently being sung, and added lossless, I wouldn't have any complaints.
I used to love Spotify but their constant laziness with releasing Lossless format, pushing audio books current price increase has made me move to Apple Music. Apple Music is much better now and has easily caught up with Spotify. Spotify still sounds like listening to music from an empty tin can even on my expensive headphones.
That last part 😂
Spotify's UI design is also abhorrent and convoluted, and so Apple Music is much better in that respect.
what the heck coincidence i a few days ago my wifi router names was same as your name [kaleidoscope].
Spotify.......... is now more expensive than apple music, for seemingly the same features, with better audio quality. apple music wins in my opinion (not that i can afford it)
Spotify Connect is still something people value above anything else. If Apple had this, tons of users will switch.
@@mr_red13 True, i think third party tools might solve this issue for Apple Music, but if you want Spotify Connect, i got no complains here
What do you mean the same price?
@@victorychukwuka6673They raised me to 11.99 this morning
Yeah..no
Apple Music is the way to go:
Better visuals
Better audio quality
Better performance
Dolby atmos
Cheaper pricetag
Pays artists more per stream
Lyrics feature works much better
Its a no brainer.
You forgot to add “it’s directly on your music app, no extra apps needed.”
@@BluesLuxurynot much of a plus it takes 1 min to download Spotify lol
a no brainer for iPhone users
Agree, but only Apple devices (not only iPhone but all of them) can benefit from Apple Music more.
Not a Spotify defender but why the hell would visuals matter in a music app, the UI sure, but really? The visuals?
I actually went from spotify to apple music because of the algorithm, the music it gave me even in the discover or song based playlists were always the same
This seems to be a common complaint in the Spotify Community forums and I agree.
Definitely not. The Spotify algorithm is far superior than apples. The biggest downfall of Apple is they delete your playlist if you don’t resubscribe within 6 months and the algorithm just plays popular songs.
Yes! It has some fixation with some specific songs that I don't even like that much for whatever reason. And if I do love them, they get repeated so often they get burned easily.
@waiskuxx I saw in the spotify community that people complain about the algorithm. I know it is superior than Apple's, but I have also found that I'm not getting the "lots of new songs" even after 7 years of using it.
For me, I prefer the library and not so much the playlists. To each their own, I guess 😁
I agree. I’ve had way better recommendations in my Discover on Apple Music way more than on my Spotify
Love Apple Music. Discovered the most music there, especially EDM.
Yup. Spotify's algorithms might be better at knowing what you're into at the moment, but it also has a downside of being locked into a certain genre and a pool of artists.
Switching to AM helped me discover so many great tracks.
Apple Music has live sets from a lot of big festivals. It’s easily one of the top reasons I can’t switch. Also easier to import local music.
What I personally experienced when switching from Spotify to Apple Music was that in spite of the inferior recommendation algorithm I was listening to music more consciously.
I was listening to full album and reading about the artists more.
It does need to be said that organizing music was not as intuitive.
Spotify actually had a karoke feature a few months back that i used with my friends. I believe it was a beta feature because tgey removed it a few weeks after i started using it, which was an interesting choice to say the least.
Great video. Much appreciated.
I am stuck with CZcams Music because i have CZcams Premium which skips ads and includes CZcams Music.
You forget to mention the seamless continuity Apple Music works across all Apple devices. From iPhone tap to HomePod, from Watch transfer instantly to Mac, from iPad continues to AppleTV. Yes, they only works for Apple devices but Ngl the way it works instantly even with location and space awareness without fiddle around the apps is nothing sort of magical.
Spotify works the exact same way
apple music is also on android windows and some smart tvs
@@ivorysteele You still need to open the apps on individual device. It is a different experience with Music. For example, it automatically switch to watch when it detects you wearing watch.
One advantage: comes with yt premium. Thats it.
@@ivorysteelecorrect, but that was one of the things he highlighted for Spotify…when in fact they both do it.
8:13 it does. You have to turn on the setting in the app on the device. I recently had some local files downloaded on my phone. It used to be easier, but the local files are also available on Spotify on phones etc
Will there be a comparison video with CZcams Music?
Between Spotify and CZcams Music? Yes! Out next week.
@@6MonthsLater one man, one word! 👍🏼
@@6MonthsLaterAnd Apple Music against CZcams Music?
I appreciate your summary on this bro
Apple Music has also smart playlists that you can setup (only on desktop) yourself.
But I hate missing out on Spotify session feature.
The SharePlay feature on CarPlay works with both iPhone and Android. The player will appear in the browser of the Android phone if the Music app is not available.
I feel you should have compared a song with all the best settings or the equivalent from both streaming platforms and shared the settings you used for both
My biggest issue with Spotify is the library and the app design a little bit
This is the first time a video sponsor have intrigued me. With Spotify’s upcoming price hike I may move back over.
I came across a video where someone redesigned spotifys UI and it was excellent. I think that’s just what she does on her channel but it was awesome. I wish Spotify would listen to their users.
The spotify connect is one of the best features of spotify but for true sound apple is better.
+1. The fact that the company which boasts about seamlessness and handoff still doesn't have such a feature is mind boggling
1:27 Never heard of tencent music, but apparently its bigger than all other music streaming platforms besides spotify.
Share playlists with friends? I have no friends. That makes it easier for me to pick Apple Music :)
I found that for some reason, Spotify has more music and different tracks and remixes than Apple Music. Don’t get wrong the quality of Apple Music is great. To create a playlist Spotify it’s super simple compared to Apple Music. Unfortunately, Spotify price will go way up expensive with the family plan, with that said, I might consider to get the Apple Music family plan.
1:57 with iOS 18 this is now available on any bluetooth or airplay speaker, not just the car
Wait really?
you could probably kind of make shareplay work with any speaker by just changing the device type in the settings to car stereo. of course then the phone will think you are driving and go into the driving mode. edit: i'm speaking for ios 17 users
Nice video but I think you missed a big advantage from Apple Music (at least for the way I use it). That is the music videos available in Apple Music, especially for the Apple TV. There are so many MV’s in their library, I have tons of video playlists and they also have great concerts available. I know you can see these on CZcams, but they come with ads or you need to pay an additional fee, where Apple Music includes it.
Thanks for the TuneMyMusic suggestion! Made my decision to move from Spotify to Apple Music really fast.
With the free tier, were you able to transfer everything? Or did you have to pay to move it all? I have about 3K liked songs on my library and I don’t know how to transfer them all.
@@Derpalerpa nope, the free only allows 500 songs. I bought the premium plan for a month, and allowed my family to use it to transfer their library as well.
You can play songs downloaded from you files on spotify through other devices. I have done so with songs on my iPhone using spotify through my macbook.
Can do this on Apple too
2:48 - Many of these caveats apply primarily to the mobile version of Spotify where as the PC version is almost like the paid one as I don't even get ads despite using the free tier
Working in tech for a long time. Whoever has the hardware, and software and can walk into a store, wins every time.
Thanks... after being a 5+ year subscriber to spotify family premium... I think it is time to look into alternatives because Spotify raised their prices twice in the last year.
I used both originally Apple Music and then switched to Spotify for about 2 years. I eventually switched back to Apple Music I liked the lyrics on apple better plus the lossless audio
Thank you for this video. I prefer Spotify because they offer Audio books now, bit saving there. Hope one day apple add audio books there too
Another new feature being added towards Apple Music is the addition of Music Haptics in the newly added iOS 18 and actually has support for a catalog of songs. Another benefit of Apple Music could also be its ability to preserve more battery, as spotify consumes more battery…another way it wins is monthly replay
But, Spotify can still have its advantages such as the ones stated in this video (not familiar with Spotify interface)
I downloaded apple music on my 21 ultra a few months ago only becuase a friend of mine wanted my playlist but she had apple music. I actually had to use the sponsor of this vid to do that but what i found was that when i was listening to music on apple music, it was much more clear and crisp and i heard things ive never heard before on alot of songs and i was using airpods max at that time whiles on a Samsung phone. I also loved that apples app had lots of color and the way the lyrics were synced and how they blurred out the past and future lyrics. The only thing that i didnt like about apple music is that it got kind of confusing at times. I actually switched over to using it for a week but it just felt a bit confusing and i prefer spotifys way of presenting music.
double check in your spotify settings and make sure Audio Quality is set to High/Max on wifi and cellular data. that way it'll grab the highest quality version for music
Which headphones you use now or which in ear buds you use to listen to?
And why did you stop using AirPods Max?
Just curious. I hope you see my message. Would really appreciate your response.
@JeskidoYT Yh I have my spotify on Very High for both cellular and wifi I have normalize audio set to off. What I realized over the years is that spotifys audio on phones and pc are slightly different. With the earbuds and headphones I use, there seems to always be more bass and I tend to hear the instruments a tad bit more clearly on my laptop and pc. Just something I found interesting.
@VineetrKamble I went to reply to another comment and realized that youtube deleted my initial response to you for some reason. OOOF.
I'm currently using the Jbl Tour Pro+. Bought them on sale for a hefty discount for just 60 bucks on ebay directly from Harman Audio. It was refurbished but it was practically brand new. I've bought from Harman Audios refurbished on ebay 4 times in the past 2 years and they have all been pretty much brand new.I also just bought an Akg Y600nc, wanted to buy these for a while but couldnt bring myself to do it until last week, and they dont dissapoint either. I stopped using the Airpods Max because the sound signature was too flat for me and they didn't get as loud as I wanted them to. I gave them to my younger sister and she has zero complaint watching Grey's Anatomy all day on them. Also, like I said in my original comment, I use Samsung so, some of the features I couldn't use and their was no way to change the eq of the headphones themselves.

CZcams Music by far, by far the best at recommendation. It just brings songs that I forgotten long time ago but fits perfectly that I really want to listen to at the time I am listening. Also, it uses youtube for music that has been recorded only as a video but not as a published music. It is by far the best of all. Not only that, when you get CZcams music, CZcams becomes ad-free. Now that is a no-brainer. Spotify or Apple music cannot even come close.
😂😂😂
So many facts!
Question. I can’t decide, i was thinking apple but my iPad has a different Apple ID (school reasons) so if i got Apple Music I wouldn’t be able to use it over all my devices. But the student package also comes with Apple TV sooooo i need some opinions. Thanks
Go for it. Take advantage of the student package. Log the ipad out of the other apple ID and log your current one in it.
I do have a lot of files from my PC in my spotify playlists used on the phone. You just have to do a local playlist with the desired PC files and then download it on your phone while your pc is running. If those songs are in other not downloaded playlists you are still able to listen to them, even if your PC is off.
Tidal is king. I’ve used all 3 extensively and tidal is by far the best in most categories.
Honestly, Apple Music is better.. but Spotify connect is a feature I value, and Spotify's community playlists is also something I use a lot. I still subscribe to both..
I can’t switch to Apple Music from Spotify because of 2 reasons:
- Spotify connect
- The easy of adding or removing a song from a playlist on Spotify. Pressing that green checkmark from the top right, you get that list and you can easily check or uncheck the Spotify playlist where your song is
Ngl it’s still pretty easy to remove a song from AM
yeah you can do the same in one click on AM. You can chose to directly delete it from library
@@andrewgale9133 yes, but on Spotify with just one checkmark I can add/remove a song from a playlist. On Apple Music, deleting from library will delete the song from all playlists, not just one.
I like the range of thought given to the use cases and ways in which music integrates into our lives. Fewer people may actually buy music any more but knowing that older (CDs) can be stored in Apple Music is a key features that people value. I currently use CZcams Music so it would be good to hear how these two compare with that.
CZcams Music has a cloud library feature as well, but you would need a different program to rip the MP3s off of the CDs.
CZcams music is the best at discovering hard to find remixes and concert songs, it wins in my book
Unless I missed it, you forgot to mention Audiobooks on Spotify. Game changer for me.
I've attempted to switch from Spotify to Apple Music, and I just couldn't do it. If you have Apple devices, Apple Music is potentially a no-brainer. But if you're like me, running ONLY Android devices, the experience hasn't been great.
My main problem is that Apple Music locks certain settings behind owning an iPhone. For example, volume normalization (which Apple calls "Sound Check"), something that comes standard across most music streaming services. But not on Apple Music on Android, it's non-existent.
Is the only thing that keeps me away from Apple.
On windows, I tried Apple TV mostly to see one exclusive there. To my surprise, I found out that I could only see and download the chapters at 1080p. For 4K, you must have a Mac or an Apple product, which sounds ridiculous even with the knowledgement of them wanting to make you join to their ecosystem.
@@pax1217 Apple's handling of Apple TV is just hilarious.
Me personally, I could go fine with just 1080p, I'm pretty sure that's the max resolution most, if not all, my screens right now can support anyway.
But my favorite thing about Apple TV is that it has a dedicated app on every apple device, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Fire TV, even Google TV. Literally the only thing that doesn't natively support Apple TV is mobile Android -- you'd have to stream it through a web browser.
2:15 sooooo I can’t control the music on my HomePod via my phone? Or control the music playing on my phone or Mac via my watch? 🥴
You can control the HomePod from your phone, you can control the phone music from your watch.
1:03 Gahdaym those iPad speakers are REALLLYYY AMAZING. DAMN.
Whoops, should clarify, that audio wasn’t taken from the iPad speakers (for a tablet they are good though). The audio was actually taken from a Sonos Move 2. - Josh
Apple's SharePlay will work outside of car too!
Been on Apple Music for 5 years. No regrets!!!
There are high res audio compression formats for Bluetooth headphones so no you don't need to plug in headphones to receive a higher quality...
You will never get better audio quality through Bluetooth rather than plugging in directly. That was the point
honestly just stuck to spotify for its wrapped
What’s nice is that both Apple Music and CZcams Music has their own now. Apple Music exclusively now has monthly replays/wraps now
I use both, different family members have family plans and I'm on both of them. I tend to use Spotify more... Apple Music is nice but I just prefer the Spotify UI (am I the only one lol?)... which is weird bc I usually prefer the native iPhone apps to other apps
Long time apple user switched over in January and i have to say i am not especially dazzled by Spotify and i am still on the fence.
- I am not a fan of how Spotify latches onto certain songs and flogs the sh*t out of them.
- Even the generated playlists/ radio start to seem awfully repetitive… seems to pick popular songs from a given genre and they show up again and again.
- Streaming quality is a step down
+ I will admit though that its ability to discover new music is superior to Apple. Truth be told i found CZcams Music better than both Apple and Spotify at finding new music though.
+ More people use Spotify in terms of sharing music.
- Spotifys app is incredibly clunky, Apple Music seems far more intuitive and built better.
+ I was a fan of the Dolby atmos
I'm missing something... how is Spotify Connect any different from playing through your speaker from your laptop using Bluetooth?
It is different as in the speaker is connected to the internet directly and you can control the music directly from any device
Another example for this would be you are playing Spotify on you laptop while working you can control what music is playing with any device which has Spotify, you can use your phone, your smart speaker etc
@@sarangagrawal1560 thanks, that's helpful, now let me ask this... the speaker is connected to the internet, via wifi, most likely. My laptop is also on wifi... couldn't I control Apple Music and the speaker from my laptop? Or would I have to use Bluetooth?
@@sarangagrawal1560 I'm learning that this is where Apple Airplay comes in...
@@fbcpraiseyour laptop have to be connected to the speaker with airplay or bluetooth to play apple music on it
@@fbcpraiseno, the weird thing about Apple Music is you can only control it from the device it’s playing from.
So if I’m using AM from my PlayStation while gaming, I can’t control the music from my phone as it’s a separate device on a ‘different’ session.
Whereas Spotify Connect you can start a playlist from your phone then jump over to your laptop or tablet (any device really) to add more songs to the queue, play pause etc. just more cohesive
2:31 what’s with AirPlay 2 ?
How should one go about placing one's own song on Spotify? How do various music artists around the World. Let me know. Thank you very much.
I use Apple Music for Bluetooth speakers and Spotify for headphones, the EQ in Spotifys settings is a game changer if you have AirPods or beats.
If you download the apple music app on desktop it has an EQ
I use an iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and iPad but I'll choose CZcams Music. You get more songs because you also can listen to user uploaded covers from CZcams.
I used to use Spotify (free), but after several great recommendations from friends and teachers, I tried out Apple Music, and because I use AirPods Pro (Second gen) I fell in love because of Dolby Atmos and Spacial Audio, and Lossless Audio.
I used to use Spotify for many years and I was happy.
I switched to Apple Music for several reasons:
- better performance
- because I am in the Apple cosmos
- better price
- the algorithm is now as good as Spotify
- far better sound and even Dolby Athmos
The only thing I miss at Apple is „connect“ . I use Sonos and with Apple I can’t connect directly to Sonos. I need the Sonos App, but there I can’t give songs a like or make a playlist
Apple music wins hands down. I use my stereo paired homepods everyday no joke for music and airplay. And it has dolby atmos which makes songs feel more full and rich.
Apple Music all day. Don’t need friend sharing for my music playlist. Better audio and more music selection. All I need
good content 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I have both spotify and youtube music ❤
Not all of my favorite artist use Spotify but on Apple Music they use but Spotify ui and playlist etc is just better
I used Spotify before apple music and i couldn't stand the fact it was shoving stuff i didn't care about in the home page. Compared to apple music where it only shows music and my personalized recommendations - if i want the radio or podcasts there is a sepreat tab for that instead of a massive list of everything. I don't get how that is better than apple musics layout.
CZcams playist with background play is best
Spotify always had better algorithms for finding my music. Apple has been catching up recently. Most importantly there is some great Apple human curated music that has been enlightening. There was a great interview with the remaining Doors members reminiscing over LA Woman and playing their favourite tracks. It was like a director’s commentary. Getting the same with other great bands now. The crowning glory for Apple though was their recent Top 100 Albums of all time. Rolling Stone used to do this but it was almost impossible to get the list in streaming. Overall both Spotify and Apple are great. Apple clearly has a bigger budget and it seems Cook is an audiophile. There have been some major leaps in Apple, including smarter algorithms, Dolby Atmos (spooky when it sounds like Mick Jagger is standing next to me with Keef playing on my other side), Loseless and the aforementioned human inspired content. I’ve switched to Apple now because I’m in the ecosystem, but I was very happy to use Spotify too. There are rewards in putting all your music through one service though so the algos learn.
I like Apple Music more the past few years but watching to see people’s opinions
Me too! CZcams Music sounds great ! I also have Apple Music. 😎
I liked Apple Music more I tried Spotify years before and hated it I tried Spotify premium again for about 2 months I honestly am somewhat still liking it but I do still prefer Apple Music it’s ironic what I’m about to say but “it’s somewhat aesthetically pleasing” and if you have a tv the lyrics will move like the vocals so if the vocals are building up to where the vocalist is yelling the vocals the lyrics will get slower and shake I find it a very good detail
I'd switch to Spotify or YTMusic if they supported 256kb aac. I don't know what's wrong with Spotify's ogg, but there's a noticeable audio quality difference.
used to be a spotify user for 4 years but just switched to apple music due to their lossless and dolby atmos audio and more attractive visuals
Lossless makes no difference but the others are nice
@@philipmrch8326 It does if you're using wired headphones that support that. And even some Bluetooth headphones support hi-res lossless audio
Instead of Spotify Connect, Apple Music can utilize AirPlay 2 which enables multi room/multi device audio with compatible devices. Spotify promised AirPlay 2 years ago and still has yet to incorporate it.
Hey nice review, appreciate that cause I KNOW this video had to be a pain to make. I must say I feel Apple Music is far inferior to Spotify. It’s to bad they can’t get it “right”… well until and if they do I’m a loyal and happy Spotify customer… btw- new sub👍
As much as I love the UI and recommendations from these two, ytm just has too large of a library, (due to communit uploads and unofficial options) and you get yt premium it’s a no brainer. I just hate the way ytm recommends its content, the UX isn’t great in that regard.
The network effect & Spotify connect is the number 1 reason why I haven completely switched over… as of this video Apple Music still has no support for android tv/Google tv as well while supporting android for almost 10 years now…. But I gotta say Apple music’s library & the way the sort downloads is far better than Spotify ever has
Spotify for me!!!😎
There is an iTunes Remote - an app for controlling Apple Music on a computer from the iPhone, but it’s just not as good as Spotify Connect and is slightly outdated. I have been waiting for this function to be added for years.
I've been on apple music for a few days now and I don't like it near as much as Spotify. I go to a artist page hit play expecting for that artist music to play, but after 1 or 2 songs it plays someone else. I don't like how it does my favorite artists either. if I like a song that has a feature it puts that 1 song in it's own artist page, instead of the main artist page. I just started my free 3 months and I don't think I'll keep using it 2 weeks, i listen mainly while driving and i find it more difficult to navigate my music.
Need some opinions.just switched to apple thinking about canceling Spotify .is Apple Music just as loud .I’ve heard their tracks are not as loud??
One thing I like with Spotify is how you can find random peoples playlists
The other thing with Apple is that they decided to have podcasts be a separate app rather than integrate it into one app which is weird. I love Apple Music, but it for sure needs a Spotify connect feature of some sort and podcast integration inside the app. Also the exclude from taste profile button would be awesome too since I have a lot of playlists I just use for background music.
AirPlay exists, it’s a little clunkier but it’s the equivalent of Spotify connect
Omg, swiftie. Love you even more 🎉
2:54 if you are using an iPad, you can play songs in the order you like
Tidal in model y is better
The AI Dj is exactly what made me switch to Spotify and I’ve been using apple music for over a year
Spotify is so darn cool. BUT..... In 2021 or 22, when they started really pushing spoken word, I would listen to only 1 podcast just to check something out. And then I could never, ever get that podcast off my home screen. I really prefer a music app separate from a spoken word app. I put up with that for a few months, but then I just went back to Apple Music when the lossless feature was added. Since then I've managed to iCloud sync my old iTunes songs into Apple and now I have any device able to access to my own private library of songs and recordings. Haven't looked back.
Pls do for yt music as well
Comes out next week!
I used apple music for bout 2months and the first thing that hit me was how annoying the app design was, the extra steps was a huge turn off.
Although i was using it side by side with spotify and youtube music tho, i only remembered to open when i wanna play a song but i dont wanna stop what I'm already playing on YTM or Spotify.
Its radio is pretty nice tho
But Spotify wins for me.
I honestly do not understand why Apple Music's recommendations are so off the mark. I have been using TIDAL for the past few months and their recommendations are more on point than those from Apple Music. Could you do a comparison between Apple Music and TIDAL in the future?
Main power of Apple Music is being a part of Apple One, while being good enough to replace Spotify (I didn't say better, good enough). In my country Apple One for family is pretty cheap because we dont have News+ and Fitness+ available (I dont care about them so for me replacing them with lower price is a win-win)
If you use the Apple Music “for you” option, the recommendations are comparable to Spotify
CZcams music still the best one
I use mp3s. I love Musicolet.
CZcams premium and Apple Music is like the ideal best situation but that’s just too much sometimes .
Apple Music has less songs there are certain songs in Apple Music that I can only find censored or not at all that I used to have on Spotify
The app design and Dolby atmos + cheaper make Apple Music a no brainer. Spotify does make better recommendations but that’s literally the only advantage. All Spotify iPhone users with AirPods should listen to their favorite album in Apple Music. The difference in quality is night and day.
Apple is adding AI to Apple Music in iOS 18. I hope you make another comparison video after this update so we can see how they stack up.
Google map wont integrate with CZcams musical on ios 😂😂😂 thats so funny to me
