We almost saw the most hated goalie versus the most loved one. Ruined by refs.
Fleury is the most hated and Binnington the most loved.. right?
@@tradingmedic Bad troll
No one hates Fleury enough to make him MOST hated.
@@tradingmedic Fleury is the most loved while Bitchington is the most hated
what makes you think binnington is the most hated? he helped us win the cup for the first time in Blues history as a rookie, we love him! fleury the most loved?? he keeps getting traded lol...Vegas didn't want him and neither did Chicago, binnington has been with the same team his entire career
I'm one who hates on fighting for unnecessary reasons, but here Fluery was 100% warranted, some needs to give Binnington a good smack
Yup but I’m thinking he would have turtled. Hell I’m pretty sure he was happy the refs stepped in. ‘Let me at em!! ‘ lol and I noticed after he swung his blocker like that he was pretty fast skating out of that scrum lol
and the fact it would be fleury of all people? it would have been iconic
Fleury isn't really the right guy for your fantasy. I suppose anything could technically happen, but if Fleury had actually fought him, Binnington probably would have ended up winning and people still would have shown up to the comments section moaning and complaining that Binnington didn't fight against somebody who's a real fighter or something.
Apparently Fleury reevaluated his odds too, because once he got down there and realized there wasn't anybody to hold him back, he decided it was better to stop a few feet away and wait patiently for the linesman. 🤣🤣 18:35
@@paulybeefs8588 fleury is still almost 20lbs bigger than Binnington..... he isnt winning against most players.
Tons of respect for Flower. Especially after hearing his mic'd up. He wasn't even angry. Just wanted to be a team player.
I'm so sick of the officials breaking up goalie fights. They are so rare anyway so let them go. That's classic hockey man
With the report for the QMJHL this week and the rest of the CHL likely to follow suite shortly fighting is going to become a rarity.
It's like shooting a Unicorn.
Especially since you can't have a reluctant goalie fight. Sometimes with skaters it looks like one guy jumped the other and it makes sense to break that up, but the goalies have to skate, what, 90 feet to meet in the middle (or, in this case, more for Fleury to pull Binnington out of a fight he's in). They want to go, so let them. As long as it doesn't end like that fight earlier with Reaves...that was wildly disappointing (pun not intended, but I'm not sorry it happened).
@@mondredgaming8927 Yeah, and as a result you're gonna see a lot more rosters looking like the Habs from last and this season. Let them duke it out. Its easier and less dangerous that way.
Yeah it's annoying. Same with the refs stopping Jack LaFontaine from fighting Malcolm Subban on January 7th after Subban decided to get involved in a brawl his own teammate started after the game.
Binnington pumping up the crowd after letting in a goal is pure gold. 🤡
And goligoski mocking him after he scored😈
I'd much rather see him stop more pucks
Tbf that's all they had to cheer about
The thing you don't seem to get is no one in STL wants to win games for the rest of this year. Tank as hard as you can but keep the games entertaining. That game was by far the most entertaining game since the tank began.
@@RageBar100 agreed
"There hasn't been a fight this disappointing since Taker/Goldberg in Saudi Arabia" Geez Dangle no need to roast the kid like that.
Ooooof. That match was straight up bad.
@@709mash Tbf I don’t know who was expecting anything good to come out of Undertaker at that point of his career vs Goldberg.
If you see Goldberg in a match poster it’s a warning that the match is going to suck.
Oh yeah the match where the Undertaker almost died because Oldberg gave himself a concussion on the ring post and couldn’t perform any of his offense. Classic.
MAF was also mic'd up during that too. It's hilarious
I know it’s amazing!!
The ref was mic’ed up, not Fleury
@@patrickkasper3573 Nope. Flower was mic’s up. You can hear him telling Binnington “Let’s go” and the linesman is nowhere near him.
@@hlzbelz yea I was about to say.
Yeah, Fleury has a mic semi regularly because he’s got hilarious chirps.
"So when you think about it... The Leafs scored both goals in a 2-goal game. . . and Lost. . . that's a dang-It." - The fact you can say that calmly is just proof that being a Leafs fan made you strong.
It's hilarious that announcers unilaterally decided to call the balls the "midsection"
hey sometimes they'll spice it up and say the "breadbasket" or simply "where you don't want to get hit"
@@TheGeekyandproud my favorite was a back and forth with Pat Foley and Dale Tallon. First Foley says Sean Hill blocked the shot "in a bad spot." Then Tallon says it hit his knee area. They get a better view where Tallon points out it wasn't his knee. Foley reiterates "I said he got it in a bad spot." To which Tallon says "Well not his knee, maybe his wee knee."
Followed by 20 seconds of near silence where you can hear Foley dying of laughter off mic.

@@GeoThaDude oh my God yes that clip kills me every time 😂 truly the best
I mean technically speaking it's in the most middle part of the body lol
I hope Steve heard the mic'd up clip of Flower they put out. It's gold. He's such an entertainer, he literally wanted to go just cause "it'll be good, no?"
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
@@thenightmaricsenpai524no we weren’t, because THEY DIDNT LET THEM FIGHT!
Another goalie's take; I have actually been more selective about how often I play the puck because I'm scared of my team yelling at me THAT'S A DANG-IT
Perfect shot by Hintz, secondly, that Elmo is frighteningly accurate.
he turned into the gingerbread dude from Shrek lmao
*During the off-season, you should do a Classic Dang-It's video on the fight where nothing happened. I'm very curious about that.*
Let this comment be the petition for the Classic Dang-It’s vid for the fight that never had a punch. I have signed
I was hoping he'd show it now since he talked about it. Alas, no.
ME TOO!!!!!!!
I was at the Blues-Wild game…the sound of the boos from the crowd is not done justice over tv. It was deafening in the Enterprise Center because EVERYONE wanted that goalie fight 😂
I think the biggest dang-it was not changing the description of the video for this week from last week's dang-its video 😂
Thank you for reminding me, you're the real MVP
@@sportsnet Maybe we should call that a Hat-Pick
@@sportsnet No problem lol
I have never been to a more depressing Sabres game than the 10-4 loss to Dallas.
P.S. That Elmo impression was scary good.
so...that 10-goal game dangit reminds me. I'm watching the Habs-Panthers game right now. We're one period done. 10 goals were already scored. It's 7-3 Panthers.
So many dangits here. Habs goalies allowing 7 goals in just over 10 minutes of play, the Panthers goalie getting scored on the first 3 shots he faced...seriously, ouch. And we still have 2 periods to go!
That Elmo voice is terrifying and well placed. That is a simultaneous hat pick and dangit. Be sure to bring it back once a year when we least expect it.
Pangers “let ‘em go, holy jumpin” has me outa my seat, that guy is a national treasure
Imagine if the NHL protected other players like they protect Binnington
Protect Bennington? He got creamed in last year's playoffs and they didn't even punish kadri who has a terrible history. So you high bro?
@JB77776 They had Money on the Avs
@@JB77776 How do they protect Bitchington from his d-man? I'll wait...
Protect him? From what? They've fined him before and now have suspended him and they take these actions when the on-ice officials have had to protect other players from him.
So the question I started with is not rhetorical. What are they protecting him from?
If only they could have protected Ben Bishop... from himself.
You know the last time the Avs picked up a goalie who was shelled and left in too long by the coach it worked out pretty well...
Big difference when you do it to a Cup-winner who's also your starter. For a backup, as said, it's part of the job description.
My favorite part about the Reaves "fight" is that he got a statistical Gordie Howe Hat Trick thanks to this...what's the opposite of a Tilly? A Tammy, maybe?
I can’t really blame guys who get a puck deflected off of them and into their own net, it’s rubber, it takes weird bounces. I absolutely blame the guys who stickhandle the puck into their own net, and I also find it hilarious
The refs/linesmen stopping Flower from fighting Bitchington makes me sad. We could have seen Flower gives Jordan the fight he acts like he wants so often, and they denied us all. Much sad. At least 31 teams - and their fans - in the league wanted that fight to happen.
Lest we forget that Binnington was salty for getting clipped by Hartman… while he was sliding out of his crease
Foligno might love the mention here but he wasn't playing in this game and Binnington actually punched Hartman. #DangIt. Also I humbly ask you review Greiss' pass to Hartman for the Wild’s 8th goal in that game.
Hes a clown. Leafs fans/stupid people are the only thing that makes this guy popular
“Oh it hits him right in the….. the midsection there” I swear you could hear the smile in his voice trying to work around what he was gonna say haha
The fact that all players kinda stopped fighting to see the goalie fight is hilarious😂 but refs don’t like fun and separated them, what a moment!
Steve sounding like Elmo for the midsection hit reacts made me laugh so hard 🤣
Oh my God, check out the game winning goal from the Avalanche vs Senators game from today! It’s definitely a potential Dang it for next week! 😂 I love these videos, and your Leaf Talk videos too! Thank you so much!
nothing makes me happier than how hockey fans are universally annoyed that the refs wouldn't let flower and Binnington fight 😂
5:06 favorite line of this weeks episode.
As an Avs fan, I really want to see Binnington get pounded
I think everyone wanted to see Bennington get pounded. Never seen a more unlikeable goalie
As a Caps fan, I really want to see Binnington get pounded. If it is by one of his own teammates, then even better.
As a hockey fan, nothing would be better than watching Binnington have his face rearranged.
@@djmilhaus
As a human, I wanted too see Binnington get pounded.
Lol. I love the binner hate. So many people fuming over something so unimportant. The want for extreme violence against him is pitiful, demented and hilarious. 🍿🍿🍿
Such a WILD game! My dad and I were smiling and confused and happy while watching that whole thing. Everyone wanted that fight to happen. Players on both teams post-game said they wanted the fight to happen not just for the entertainment factor but because it would’ve gotten people talking and maybe even more people to watch the game. NHL claims they want to grow the game then pull this kind of thing. Wtf. We were all robbed.
Agreed! The consistently horrible reffing is hard enough to stomach, but then deny us the chance to watch binner get a beat down from a guy called flower....that's just unacceptable
Give Steve some credit that Elmo impression was on point👌
Let's also note HOW FAST MAF got from his net to Binnington and dropped his gear once the punch was thrown...
That play, and your comment about Kochetkov, were very interesting, given that Brady Skei was part of it, falling on Koochi. In Skei's first NHL game (Rangers) he played very well, except for one pretty bad mistake, which lead to the winning goal against. When asked about it in the post-game conference, Alain Vignault said, about Brady, essentially what you said about Koochi. "That's the
first of many mistakes he's going to make, because he's going to be in this league a long time.
The elmo segment literally made me spit my breakfast out with laughter. Holy smokes steve. 😂 dang it.
Always a pleasure watching this feature… I start looking for it at noon on Thursdays… Thanks Steve and producer Drew…
Thanks Steve and producer Nick...good Elmo dude !
Punching Hartman not foligno, that’s a dang-it Steve 😂 also binnington was chirping the Wild bench first… after letting 3 goals in in less than 2 minutes
Foligno wasn't in that game, he was injured
@@lierx8694 that’s what I was implying, I just didn’t say that cause on the off chance Steve reads this he’ll be rather embarrassed to know the player he said wasn’t even playing
You make my favorite sport even better every week, when I connect with a like minded fan
Never stop a goalie fight! It has to be a nhl rule.
Next week, I suggest the Eller goal against Ottawa tonight. It's pretty funny.
I don't get why the refs stop the goalies from fighting. They don't stop other players. It's such a shame and bad for the game.
Because fighting in hockey is a great way to break a bone in your hand. Not good for a skater, catastrophic if your job is to throw body parts in front of a frozen skeet-shooting pigeon disc.
No helmets = increased risk of concussion when falling to the ice. The last 2 seasons they've been stopping fights when a helmet comes off during the fight, as far as I've seen.
Since 2013 the NHL has instructed refs to stop a fight from occuring if a player takes their helmet off before the fight. They also made it an additional 2 minute minor for taking off your own helmet or intentionally removing your opponent's helmet.
Since goalie's remove their headgear before a fight, refs are supposed to break it up.
After seeing what happened to Kale Keely in a fight in the AHL in 2020, I understand why they've begun stopping fights when a helmet comes off.
As much as I would've loved to see Flower and Binnington go at it, I get why they stop goalie fights.
Lots of reasons. The keeper position is unlike anyone else on the ice, for one. You have a short-sighted opinion, like many.
Exactly just remove checking and any physical contact if you are really worried about injuries! Fighting is literally part of the game!!!
@@GeoThaDude Everyone has heard the stated reasons. The argument isn't whether or not it's safe (it's 2 grown men punching each other until they fall on hard ice...no one thinks that's safe). The argument is "These are grown men who play a sport which fighting is a part of and they are willing combatants so let them go" vs "we don't want people to get hurt". It's not a mathematical argument, but a philosophical one. I understand the second and certainly favor things like the crack-down on boarding and elimination of checks to the head (and suspension of Binnington for swinging his goalie stick at someone), but when there are willing combatants; hockey players who want to pause the game for a boxing match to stick up for or rally teammates; let the adults make their choice. Crack down on the dirty hits and eject anyone who tries to fight a guy who doesn't want to fight, but let the men decide if they're willing combatants.
You're absolutely right that it's safer to not fight; no one disputes that.
Fun fact about Koochie. He’s currently suspended in the AHL for shenanigans so I doubt we send him back anytime soon. 🙃
Define Koochie shenanigans, please I want to know
New sub. Discovered your outstanding coverage and commentary this morning.
I love these videos. I always get a good laugh and YES! Let them fight!
Laughed harder at the Elmo voice than any of the DangIts........
Ok, that ending statement was pretty funny. I was semi-watching, listening to you rant at the end Steve, and then you just busted me up with that Marc Andre Fluery remark.
10/10 with the Elmo voice 😂😂 wasn’t expecting that at all, got me laughing out loud
Jordan 'hold me back' Binnington
I wouldn’t say this is his fault
@@sullycreason2062 your reasoning? Binnington left his crease.
@@lynn-marieflechner5406 he was trying to fight… the red held him back
Binnington wants to fight so bad. The one time he actually tries to fight, we're denied.
#LetBinnyFight
You guys totally missed Alex Alexeyev scoring on Darcy Kuemper, his own goalie, in the Caps v Islanders game
I don't watch these every week, so I'm pretty sure people have noticed this before ... There are no Leafs decorations in the background, but I think I see 4 Habs figurines (though to be faire, 3 of them are for players that are no longer with the team). Thanks Steve. As a Habs fan, I appreciate it.
Yeah he uses a different corner of the "Blue Room" to be more neutral during Hat Picks/Dang-Its, all the memorabilia typically means he's interviewed that player (Or for some weird reason Gritty) as he usually has a picture of himself and the player nearby the figurines
Suspending Binnington for going after the guy who went at his legs after not going after the guy who intentionally injured him in the playoffs last year as he was getting hot just shows what a joke the dept of player safety really is. 🤡🤡🤡
Hartman didnt intentionally go after his legs, Binnington was out of the crease and kind of in the way...🤷♀️ fair call imo, Binnington is a clown
I was SOOOOOO not ready for Steve’s Elmo voice after the Benn clip. I was still laughing by the end of the video.
Steve, i hate your team, but dont stop ever. You're the best hockey-related entertainment there is.
The Elmo impression got me dying
You know I love you Dangle, but you've got to invest in Advil stock 'cause everytime I watch you I've got to pop another. Never stop, Tuesday and Thursday make my week.
So if the puck hits you in the head, it can count but don't you dare try headbutting it! We don't what that over powered move to become the standard...
Hi Steve I know that the hat picks video is already made but you should consider including the desperation save Jiri Patera made for the knights against the Blues
OMG I need more of Steve doing Elmo, that was amazing
I have never understood why the officials are so quick to break up a fight between the two guys on the ice that wear the MOST Equipment.
oh my god that was Steve's actual voice doing Elmo. 😂
I just died laughing when you said Advil then in your video an Advil commercial came up. 🤣🤣🤣
Love Rob Ray trying to be clean while describing the guy getting a puck to his not exactly midsection
If you're a defenceman don't sit on your goalie! LOL
actually lovin' those lowkey advil mentions looool, XD.
@ 11:46 that's the NHL's version of Friendly Fire
The Commodus vs Maximus comparison is so perfect 😂
I gotta know, do your kids love that Elmo voice? That was excellent.
The difference between Dorofiev and Shaw is that Shaw took a full on header to Dorofiev's deflection, Shaw knew it wasn't going to count...but we have the story now, haha.
Binnington was suspended two games, not for going after MAF but for "Roughing and Unsportmanlike Conduct" against Hartman.
I've watched Dang-It videos since the beginning and it should be noted that you are getting so good at these that this one is easily a top ten all time. You should give yourself a Hat Pick next week. Nuff said!
Such a good Elmo voice. Didn't see that one coming. lol
This week was almost all goalies lol
You missed one in the Sharks CBJ game where you could laugh at both teams. Tarasov went to play the puck behind the net, the Sharks player got the puck and tried to wrap it around the empty cage and completely whiffed on it.
An impressive imitation of Elmo 😂😂😂
12:52 I thought the editors had done something in post to your voice. That is insane!
Like the energy Steve! The 14 year old voice was over the top funny🤣🤣 for me, Sure thought it was an audio trick. Good job👍👍. Bob, Nevada, USA
Stalock losing his stick reminds me of the reaction of when you throw cheese on a cat's head
Kochetkov's is arguably 3, maybe even 4 dangits in 1.
1. Comes at a forward with the puck and comes about as close as humanly possible to illegal handling
2. Turns the puck over
3. Fans on a chance to break it up and loses his stick
4. Ends up... Backwards? And it's a goal.
Steve said that as the backup, you gotta get hung out dry to preserve the other guy. That is not true if you are Petr Mrazek and Alex Stalock from the Blackhawks
I don't love Reaves, but I got to hand it to him, here. First, he accepted the invitation to fight from Imama. He knows that a player like him has one ticket into the NHL: prove your tough. I think Reaves knows to engage him in a fight immediately puts you on the radar, so he's kinda helping the kid out already. Then, twice, he had openings to absolutely annihilate Imama, but both times he chose not to swing, the second time just grabbing him, kinda inviting the linesman to intervene. I think Reaves here is being rather classy. It's a lame fight, sure, but also, kinda cool to see a vet treat a rookie with such respect.
"Steve's voice can't possibly get higher than when he screams"
Steve: "Hold my ****"
Dude was like I don't need my stick see ya 😂😂😂😂
Stalock just biffing his paddle into the corner for pure desperation...for nothing is an absolute classic.😅 Who needs a stick anyways haha😂
I really thought we might see the ten game misconducts from Vegas/Tampa in this video. I think you also missed the best part of Dorofeyev's goal where he smacked his own visor in sort of disbelieving celebration. Good thing he got his second ever goal in the next game and it was lovely
Fleury mic'd up on that almost fight, was great.
Not sure how to suggest this properly but for next week's dangits - I was at the Senators-Avalanche game on Thursday. How about the Avalanche's game-winning goal - so many potential dangits... icing? Nope. Goalie covers the puck for several seconds with an opposing player a foot away? Nope. One guy on the ice plays to the whistle? Oops... but when is the whistle supposed to go?
Seems like you missed a double dang it in the sabres rangers game on Saturday. Second period had a “if you’re a goaltender tend the goal” moment that the goal got called back because of an offsides on a player going to the bench.
As a Sabres fan, Steve probably could’ve made an entire 20-minute Steve’s dang its episode from just the Sabres over the last week or two
cant wait to see THAT lars eller goal in next weeks dangits lol
at this time i am watching the Colorado avalanche game in ottawa, the Avalanche scored there 5th goal and all of the area is angry thinking the play should’ve been stopped by icing but wasn’t so an Avalanche pushed the puck into the net. this is probably going to be the biggest dang it next thursday and i love it🤣🤣🤣
5:02 🤣, for real though that match scared the hell outta me when Goldberg dropped taker on his head, for a split second I thought he was dead.
I've watched the "dropped like a bag of rocks" part 6 times now and I'm going to laughing for the next two days.
Priceless!!!!!
2:48 I know a lot of people are going to say the goalie had no chance of resetting, but in this case we'll never know because he was being dry humped by one of his own players (this seems to happen more often than not, in these scenarios). If you're defence or a forward, STAY OUT OF GOALIE'S WAY!
5:08 Sick burn. lol
Love the fantano reference 19:35
Fleury was Mic'd up during that game. Great footage
Goalie here. I love chirping at the other bench... also the goalie sticks now weigh next to nothing. You can forget you even have it in your hand.
Earlier this year I was at a game for the local Jr C team and one of the guys on the visiting team took a slapshot to the balls but it deflected in for a goal.
Those who closely read "Dante's Inferno" in the original Italian know that one corner of Hell is reserved for Hockey Referees that stop goalie fights. They are told they can leave as soon as an offside review is announced. Which it never is.
