    Making a new handle would be "easier" but I really liked how the restored handle turned out! It is really interesting the methods that you've used to restore it!

      I agree. Since this will not be used i think the original handle makes sense. If this was going to actually be used, the handle is a serious weak point since it is used in the process of how the tool works. Looks nice

    There is always a certain excitement when "I make a new one" but sometimes the old original parts have more charm and definitely show more history.

      Yeah, I've thought the same, but the outcome looks really great. Antique look in fresh polished and shiny condition makes it unique and I guess even better than brand new.

    .... sometimes, it's a true testament of your skills when you bring something back to life. I'm glad you kept the old handle here and taught us how to "soak it to save it". 😳

    As long as the old part can be restored to full functionality without any weaknesses i'm all for keeping the old part. If that is not possible then you can make a new one. Other than that, fantastic work as usual, keep it up! :)

      I don't even mind if it has weaknesses, I prefer saving pieces of history over actually using them

    I'm a fan of restored handles that show the history and dings and nics. That said, I don't mind resin enhancements like color filling large cracks etc

    If you need a file (tool) for a project one day, you should pull it out if the "secret files" envelope. I think it would be HILARIOUS!

    Most restorers tend to make new pieces, often with great success. But I like it when you restore the old pieces, it is the memory of the tool.

    Definately the restoration of the wood was great. The use of the hot water to get the wood to bend back into shape and relieve the tension, then the epoxy use to get it all back into shape. nice.

    Seeing the old part restored when it's possible and reasonable is a real pleasure.
    Sometimes it's unavailable which is sad in it's own way. But it's the nature of old tools to someday degrade beyond repair.

    Yes, for the first time of all the restoration channels I watch, Tysytube is the first one who restored the wooden part of the object! That's what I call retsoration and not renovation or building new. Please keep on keeping the wood!

    Personally, I love it when as much as is practical can be reused. some epoxy i think is well worth the effort. :)

    That turned out very nice! You do good work. I figured that you would pitch the handle. Totally forgot about uv resin. What a difference it made. Did you get new equipment? I don't recall see the sander at 1:17 before.

    What simple yet fascinating🤩 restoration especially the handle love how it looks and how's the process of restoring it to better one and i'll say it's the best process i've seen yet on handle restoration, oh speaking of handle question if it's possible from your perspective and knowledge that the vintage handle is repairable then do your best to restored not into the very original looks but to very comfortable to hold and latter is to make close replica of what the vintage handle looks like..........
    anyways sorry if my comments is too long 😅😅😅 wish you the best and wait patiently for new content ✌️✌️✌️

    DEFINITELY restoring the handle if possible. It’s apart of the history as well. That wood is even older than the piece being worked on. So I’m very happy you took time to save it!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    YEA! YEA! Finally you heard me.
    Recovering rotten wood from the handles with epoxy is an important step in preserving the piece's history.
    The ideal would be to arrange a vacuum chamber to impregnate the resin, but it was very good.
    FANTASTIC!

    I love restorations, because anything we can do that don't create more trash in the world is a better choice. It is an art that actually helps the enviroment.
