Wow. I conducted for the first time two days ago - it was a piece I'd written a few months and the first time I'd worked closely with the musicians I'd written for, and a lot of what Sir Davies is saying is exactly what I've been thinking lately!
The RPO will be playing a fantastic concert devoted to Sir Peter Maxwell Davies at Cadogan Hall on 12th March, with the composer himself introducing each of his pieces. Not to be missed!
