He was killed, by Lucifer, splat. God brought Cas back in that form, but Jimmy is still gone. It is a vessel made directly by God specifically to house an angel, permanently.

He was in purgatory. Nothing in purgatory needs to eat. That’s why Benny didn’t have the hunger from being a vampire because he was dead. And technically so was Dean.
There was a river in purgatory and the human body can survive without food as long as it gets water. There's also the fact that time in purgatory and earth are not the same so you might find that to Dean it seems like he was there for a shorter period of time than he actually was

@@senzimalaza2856 No, the human body cannot survive on just water, with water, you could survive longer without food, but you would still need to eat, and it is very unlikely that Dean experienced a short time in purgatory because he would not have been able to form such a strong relationship with Benny, and going by the usual pattern that the show follows, purgatory time would probably be faster than earth time, like how he’ll time is 4 decades to 4earth months.
I agree with that. But is growing facial hair optional in purgatory? Cass grew some, but Dean did not.

Adam will be back for the final season so hopefully it will be explained.
Exactly! Plus Death literally made Dean choose between Sam's soul or Adam's vessel (a lot ppl forget Michael is the one who's actually trapped in the cage not Adam) and he choose Sam. It's not exactly a plot hole if they explained it?

Well what is confusing about that 'plothole' is that they got told on numerous occasions, that it would be the last time blah blah blah from very powerful beings. so of course i would mourn when it is maybe possible but not very likely that i get my brother back again and again and again

As for them appearing in their vessels in heaven, it's because they take on their preferred hosts' physical appearances because the show Supernatural lacks in budget for CGI and whatnot to reveal their true forms

The Lucifer, cas, and Jimmy vessel issue isn't ssn issue. Your forgetting that God rebuilt cas multiple times, and Jimmy was no longer alive.

@@theUserdudex you idiot jimmys body was rebuilt by God quite alot and CROWLEY was able to make a final vessel for Lucifer so God most likely made it so jimny could hold cas better. When lucifer possessed him the vessel was starting to wear down and crowley wasnt in there long enough to cause an effect.

The Angels being in their vessels in heaven was referenced by Zachariah in the episode "Dark Side of the Moon". We see the vessels because we're limited. Not a plot hole.

Luis Felipe Silva Sampaio Jimmy wasn’t dead when Castiel borrowed his body and yes he consented. But that body was destroyed along with Jimmy’s soul, so why does Cas still walk around looking like “Jimmy Novak”. As for Adam they didn’t even meet him or know about him until after the ghoul impersonating him had killed him. When Zachariah brought him back to be Michael’s vessel (which is another plot hole because they spent the whole season telling us it had to be Dean) they didn’t really have time to bond and Adam actually acted as if he disliked them. Besides how are they supposed to get him out? Lucifer said he was curled up in a corner bat poop crazy. But since )spoiler!) says we see him in Season 15 I guess we find out

@@suekelley2109 Cas is walking around looking like "jimmy Novak" because when Lucifer exploded him God built him a new Jimmy suit. Which is why it's stronger than a regular vessel. Zachariah using Adam wasn't a plot hole. He straight up explained to Adam that he lied to him because he was bait. But, we also know that vessels run in families. The Winchesters are Michael's vessels and The Campbells are Lucifer's. So, yes, Adam could host Michael. I'm also pretty sure that both Dean and Sam could host either Michael or Lucifer.

To the "plot hole" about Dean should be Lucifer's vessel, I feel like she forgot that either of them could host either archangel, but Sam was prepared since infancy by being fed the blood of Azazel. And then growing up and growing his powers, and drinking a ton of demon blood, made him the best possible host for the devil.

Answer: God knew the whole time. He always had everything under control even with Amara. He lied numerous times on the show and he was probably lying about that just to make a better “story”.

1: Jimmy is dead after exploding and god recreated just the vessel for Castiel.
2: God might have recreated the vessel stronger.

Especially since there was that episode where Joshua told them about their ressurections and said it wouldn't happen again, and the one where Billy said she would make sure that if either of them died again that she would make sure they stayed dead.

The simple fact is that no matter how many times beings with dominion over death and life say no more Sam and dean still get more for those two death is quite literally almost as meaningless as it is in DBZ
Somebody’s gotta explain to MsMojo what a plot hole is, because most on this list isn’t, something that you find odd, or don’t understand doesn’t automatically make something a plot hole.

I'm getting old and bitter, and they don't seem to realize that the characters have lives beyond the 42 minutes a week they're on screen 20 weeks a year and that with that established there's no reason to keep revisiting it and eating screen time. Hell, I'm currently dealing with rage at the exorbitant lengths I've been seeing people go through to try to explain around Chuck as the final villain insisting he has to be someone else because the gnostic and hermetic and jungian and general perennial buildup of the last several years has whistled by their threads and they're boggled by the idea that god could really lie, so it must not be god. I'm sorry, you're confusing Supernatural with calvinistic christianity, it's not a plothole and that's not part of the mystery, y'all missed the last three years of esoteric journey because it's neither christian mythos nor greek adventures of chimera stabbing and that's apparently all people recognize, whereas I build entire video series on jungian philosophy this show has used and I'm just. So very tired.
There’s also the whole “Angels are stronger than demons” inconsistencies. In season 4 when they were first learning that it was an angel who freed Dean from hell, even Ruby was acting incredibly scared and nervous. Saying that Angels are far more powerful than demons, which does make perfect sense. Yet over the years, we saw demons beat the crap out of angels numerous times! Cas was even captured by some one time because he apparently unknowingly walked into a bar that was filled with them.... uuhhh... what?? How did he not see even one when angels can apparently see the true faces of demons! Then to be over powered by them when he’s an angel? Even if he was at half strength he still should have been able to defeat them. And don’t get me started on how Gabriel was captured by Asmodaeus!! I don’t care that he was a prince of hell, Gabriel was an ARCH ANGEL!!!!! He should have seen him coming from a mile away and Asmodaeus shouldn’t have been able to lay even one finger on Gabriel let alone capture and in-prison him for years!
not to mention that as an archangel, Gabriel can teleport and time travel, so holding him in any kind of captivity is incredibly unlikely.
But they kinda do talk about these things. Because constantly angels get messed with by god. Just like demons

In Season 4 ep 3, Dean goes back in time and when he meets his dad in the diner a man walks in and has a short convo with John. He ends the conversation by saying, “Say hi to your old man for me!” But later on we find out Henry Winchester went into the future to protect the Men of Letters key from Abbadon. John thought Henry abandoned him. Small detail I noticed ig.

also, about Sam and Dean dying so much and they still grieve the other, that's bc there have been multiple times that they have thought the death was permanent and also they love each other
their income: they run credit card scams... this was legit covered in the very first episode
Adam: at first it was just an accident and then let's be honest, the writers saw how much of a joke it had become with the fans and they rolled with it.
the thing with adam is just hard to deal with. death said that he'd only free one of them. if they freed adam at that moment without a wall, that wouldn't be very cool.

Jimmy died and his soul is in heaven. Castiel's vessel has been destroyed and brought back numerous times over the years so the fact that Lucifer can inhabit it makes sense. As for Crowley being in it, demons don't ask for permission. They take position of a body
That's exactly what I thought! Jimmy has been dead for years, so his permission isn't needed anymore. He isn't in the body anymore.
Deva Nixie Cas does explain this to Claire saying that the vessel doesn’t even have any Jimmy left, there may even be another comment about the ‘vessel’ actually being Cas (created by God I think) but I can’t remember it more specifically at the moment ... either way the vessel isn’t standard human issue so standard ‘rules’ don’t apply :D

Castiel’s vessel body aka jimmy was exploded by Lucifer after he holly fired Michael. God rebuilt his body made specifically for Cas and strong enough to hold Lucifer as it was not a human body anymore.

true also with the adam case blood doesn't always mean family. kinda like say fast and furious except for Dominic Toretto and Mia Toretto but for the most part none of them are by blood plus most of these arnt plot holes.
I think she was actually faking her fear, to encourage Sam to pursue her and kill her (which was ultimately exactly what she wanted).

1. She left before Sam could kill her, so he couldn't chase after her.
2. Dean hadn't broken the first seal yet so she couldn't die before that, plus she was supposed to be the last to be broken to release Lucifer.
She also admitted in season 15 that she was holding back so they can break the seal to release Lucifer
10: so we can tell the angels apart from one another and also budget
9: they faked their death to get the police off their back and they´ve pretty much forgotten about Sam and Dean because everyone thinks the case is closed
8: after God resurrected Cas, Jimmy died and Cas became bound to the vessel. It´s basically Cas, that´s why it´s so strong
7: Gabrie tried to make sure not even God could find him. If God had made an effort he could have found Gabriel for sure, but God doesn´t actually care, as mentioned several times in the show
6: the archangels were all created at the same time, but Michael kind of took on the role of the eldest brother. I think it´s still fair for Amara to call Lucifer "first", as the archangels were the first things to be created by God
5:The Empty has never proven itself to be more powerfull than God, it only said that. The empty has lied before, so it could have just told Cas no one could help him to take away his hope and send him back to sleep.

3: idk i´d still be fucking sad if my sibling died, even for the 5th time, they can´t know for sure if the other will ever come back. We as the viewers do, but the characters don´t, especially because they are generally pessimistic and depressed.
2: Ruby was working with Lilith all along, so of course it was a scam to make Ruby seem more trustworthy. The demon knife is the same for demons as a normal knife is for Humans, it´s that simple.
1: Sam doesn´t care about Adam and Dean even dislikes him. They don´t consider Adam a part of their Family. And also it´s a meme

9. No one would forget 2 serial murders that good looking who the public knows fakes their deaths 2x. Have you seen our society? If Ted bundy has a psycho stan club do you really think sam and dean wouldnt? and in the era of social media? the season 7 leviathan murder spree plot really just blows up so much logic b/c theres no way the entire world wouldnt know their faces after seeing 5 videos of them massacring 30+ people per video.

#5 when Gadreel healed Cas, Cas was human so it was just an angel resurrecting a dead human. Also later on in season 15 (after this video was posted) it’s confirmed that Chuck definitely has power to bring angels and demons back from the Empty.. for example Lucifer and Lilith.

And since Gabriel was held captive by demons and Asmodeous, and was having his grace drained, it would impair God/Chuck's sight of Gabriel being alive. As God/Chuck may only know about Angels/Archangels if their grace is in tact and untouched.

When amara says "first" shes probably talking in order of importance to god, she did NOT say first BORN or first CREATED.
There's an episode in season 12, "The British Invasion", where Lucifer literally calls Michael his "little bro". But it was a Bucklemming episode, so not that surprising. They can never keep their SPN facts straight.

Who thinks of the word first as in most important? When you think of the word first, you think of the first thing to happen. And Amara words clearly meant that Lucifer was first though he was not.
The problem is that in the bible Lucifer is the first archangel created... but to make Lucifer, Michael and God's story match more closely with the dynamic of the Winchesters and their dad they changed Lucifer to younger brother. But Lucifer is kind of in the collective consciousness as the first son of god so that has a tendency to slip into the script if the writers aren't paying very close attention.

@@mellogaming1334 Yes they did. Whenever they needed the big showdown, (Michael v Lucifer) someone* (Cas, Crowley, Zachariah, Chuck/God, Lucifer) always mentions that Adam's mind is gone-tortured for years by Lucifer, as amusement. *This video* even says that he's mentioned* in later seasons.

As for Adam I don't think they ever really considered him a true brother. Especially after he agreed to host Michael for such a selfish reason which was what they were trying to avoid.

I wanted Lucifer to become the main baddie, and God not showing up till very end. Either way, will be hard to knock this from my favorite of all time shows. Firefly a very very close second.

#3 kind of doesn’t make sense....what are they supposed to do? Watch their brother die and be like “eh, I’ll figure out a way...they’ll be back tomorrow”. Like wtf, of course they’ll be sad and devastated...their brother just DIED. And they know there’s that slight possibility that they won’t be able to bring them back.
Exactly. I mean special DNA or not, for the most part, these boys are human. They've been given proof that they can die easily. There is no given that they will always come back if it doesn't have relevance to the major players to need them back in the game. So they go through the motions of loss. It's never easy to watch your sibling die. Oh man. How is poor Sam even sane anymore? He's watched Dean die at least 1,004 or more times.
Not only that but MsMojo didn't take into consideration how long it sometimes takes for them to come back. They have been without their brother for short periods but some lasted a lot longer. A lot of these are explained in the show. Perhaps, @msmojo has never actually watched the whole show. True fans know the answers to these "plot holes"

Plus even seeing someone I really love get seriously injured is hard for me (like when my brothers fingers got cut off) so even if you have hope that they’ll be back you’re still going through seeing them in pain and death, possibly even having to bury them or live for awhile without them, never knowing for sure if you’ll see them again

10 - humans/human souls can't see angels in their true forms. Zacharia explains why he looks human in heaven. Demons need a vessel in hell to be able to talk and do spells, smoke is pretty useless.
9 - when the leviathan pretended to be Sam and Dean, the police used THOSE bodies to air in the news that Sam and Dean were dead.
8 - castiels body (not jimmies anymore) is strong because God made it that way. God references "I've rebuilt castile more times than I can count"
7 - he didn't say Gabriel was dead, he said he didn't have the power, at the time, to bring him back. Which is true: they would have had to fight osmodeis and his demons ontop of trying to stop amara.
6 - not a plot hole, just a bad character. She gets plenty of things wrong.
5 - castile woke up in the empty because of JACK. his power was strong enough to stretch to the empty.
4 - monster souls aren't like human one's, they are tainted by "eve" and probably respawn for all eternity. If they could die in their god would have killed the liviathin in there.
3 - because they know to many people WANT them to stay dead. And heaven isn't an enviting option because angels don't like them. It's not always 100% certain they can come back, they usually have to make deals.
2 - lilith was ACTING scared of Sam. She needed to be killed at the right place, at the right time. She wasn't actually scared of the knife, she needed to drag out them chasing her to let lucifer out of the cage..
1 - Sam's soul was bad after being in the cage. In the end he went mental and castile had to take it from him, and suffer with it himself.
Adams soul would now be soup. There is no point in saving him.
He said Gabriel and Raphael were dead but he didn't have time to bring them back. I hate the writers retconned that.
Also, to explain the Honourable mentions- Dean does Credit card scans to get money, that's the boys source of income.
And Dean barely eats on Earth and still stays alive, you think purgatory is gonna make a difference (I can't believe they actually said it). I'm sure we can give the benefit of the doubt to the writers.

There is no explain on the show which states Dean has any supernatural powers and confirms multiple times that he is a human. Dean seems to be the big eater and Sam, the opposite. Nonetheless, unless Dean got some supernatural powers, he can't survive without food.
The angels keep their vessels because could you imagine having to re-inhabit your vessel after just going to Heaven to ask a question? "Hey, Jimmy, its Cas, can I come back now?" "Well...."

Try the fact that Lucifer should have known that a normal angel blade wouldn't kill an archangel, only an archangel blad could, so he would have known that Gabe wasn't dead.
"Forgetting" Adam isn't a plot hole. They also haven't tried to bring Bobby, or John, or Charlie, or really anyone else besides each other back.

Yeah, they're deaths are faked a few times but they still go town to town impersonating FBI officers and nobody ever recognises them. In one episode, somebody actually does recognise them and Sam just brushes it off saying that they look similar.
It makes them even more suspicious after they are seen after being reported dead.
Not to mention that the series' time-line goes on for years and years. How many people would remember some handsome criminal on the news from a couple of years ago? So many faces on a daily basis but somehow you're expected to recognize two guys because their hot?

There is a major plot hole in the episode where dean pulls a back to the future meeting his dad a lot younger. When the waiter asks john how his dad was doing he said hes fine but when dean and sam meet their grandpa it turned out that john last saw his dad when he was 5 I think..
So sad to see this show go! Feels like part of my childhood and adulthood is being taken away! Im so glad you cam watch these episodes a milliom times and they never get old!

Castiel was brought back by Chuck several times, at the and of season 5, Cas even said he's new and improved. Maybe that's why his vessel is so strong...
When dean goes back in time when he is sent by cas someone says "say hello to your old man" to john. Henry was stuck in the future and died seasons later and dean thought he was a dead beat. That plot hole always stuck out to me.
Millie remarried and they moved to Kansas, and since John was so young when Henry disappeared he didn’t really have as much of a connection to him rather he might’ve considered his stepfather his dad and maybe Millie never talked about Henry when they moved so possibly the person and others who know the family don’t know. and also that scene was meant to be a reference to back to the future so they probably forgot about that when they introduced Henry

No he actually died. Cas says “I do believe he brought me back” referring to God resurrecting him and God says that he’s rebuilt Cas multiple times, rebuilding implies he died otherwise Cas would have just found new vessels. It is a bit confusing though cause every other time we see an angel die there’s a bright light and the wings are kind of burned into the floor/wall(except when eaten by a Leviathan or Amara), but with Cas we just see him explode like a balloon of chunky soup... except for when Lucy stabbed him.

I've noticed most of them, but I'll admit I didn't notice the purgatory plothole about Dean not having any food or hair growth.
Dean's purgatory "plot hole" explained: eating bark, leaves and meat from the things he killed. Lack of hair growth, easy. He used the blade he picked up to cut his hair.
We only saw bits and pieces of his time in purgatory, not the whole year.
Jensen explained the lack of hair growth at a con. He was supposed to have his hiatus scruff just like Misha, but he had to film other scenes where he had to be his normal self before any of the purgatory scenes.

Dean survived purgatory without food because it wasn't him as a human it was just his soul and souls in such a place as a purgatory don't need to eat or drink or sleep or whatever because they are soules!

My personal theory on the whole Police/FBI/Secret Service “Plot hole” has always been that I think they stopped searching for them because the higher ranks in those agencies know about the work the brothers do and know of their importance. I mean look at how MANY people work for said groups some of them HAVE to know what’s really out there 🤷🏼♀️

@@bobbymgaming Sam and Dean were supposed to be born in that world- it was following the same plan as the man world. But Mary never said yes to the deal with Azazel in that timeline. So Michael would know that his true vessel was destined to be born to the Winchester bloodline, but that something happened to prevent it from being born.
These are all very small common retcons that would happen to any show over the course of 15 years and multiple showrunners, had Kripke ended it after S5 like he originally intended the story would have been flawless

Couldn't help but chuckle as I listened because as a hobby I dabbled in short story writing a serial. I ran out of ideas at story 51. I had to keep track of who was who, who was related to who, who had a conflict and why with who, evolution of the characters in later stories and keeping continuity. So many things to remember to do. This just reminded me how difficult it can be to tie up loose ends and remember the complex relationships with past and present and new characters and keeping everything straight. Not easy.

The fight between the boys and lucifer wasnt in the actual cage...rowena opened it and only summoned lucifer who then was outside of the cage but still trapped.

If i remember correctly, the cage we see isnt the actual cage, but sort ot an entry room. Rowena summon only lucifer from the actual cage to the "entry room" and free him
The cage is hanging in hell. The cage that we see Lucifer in when Sam, Crowley, Rowena (and eventually Castiel and Dean) is sort of a gate way to the actual cage where only Lucifer was summoned to it as they only wanted Lucifer.

SPN established that we all have own heavens and that we see what we want to see. I never assumed the angels were actually in their vessels in heaven. I thought it was just supposed to be from the audience's POV. You know because humans can't really handle seeing their true form? Zachariah confirmed this in season 5
