      I love Michigan with all my heart. There is truly nowhere else I'd rather be. This winter was an easy one it was very mild. When we have a harsh winter, retreating to Florida for a break is a must, and Florida is my perfer choice. The people are nice and it's in the 🇺🇸 USA!

    Thanks for the great video. It doesn't look like you used socks on the pipes, but your stone looks like it has a lot of small crushed bits in it - won't those clog the pipes? I just ordered a pallet of your pipes - 2 solid for downspout and 2 for french drains. Look forward to fixing some H2O problems in my yard. 😁👍

      We had a lot of ice and snow in our stone. The stone was a mix of 3/4" and 1 1/2" Cobblestone. It was all-around rock. If we use a crushed stone, we put a sock on it.

    I have a basement with interior foundation perimeter sump drain system. This spring, we still had water entering the basement. I am considering installing your french drain system on the high side of my house and run it towards the alley drain area low side of our yard. Since sub surface water is getting under my foundation and pressurizing it, would your system even help? How deep should I try and get your system to around the house while maintaining slope? Thank you very much for your answers and all of your videos! Extremely helpful and well done!

    FDM, Lovn everything you put out, Im going to tackle my own project. Approx 250' run, backyard soppy, pools in a specific spot. Can you tell me if my plan sounds feasible. Capped at higher point 4" perforrated approx 75' run (soppy area) to catch basin at pooling area, approx 150' from there out to street. My question is, do i use the perforrated pipe for the entire run or only to the catch basin than solid from there for run off? Popup release under sidewalk out front. TIA for help , Northern NY.

    Open French drain, how did you layer that? Did you just wrap the pipe and dump stone on it? Or wrap pipe with some stone and then dumped stone on top? I remember from another video you said you don't want stone and dirt to touch.

    It didn't look like a catch basin was installed on the downspout line that connects into the french drain line. Wouldnt shingle gravel be a problem or was it a metal roof?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  Před měsícem +1

      There are going to be thousands of gallons of water passing through that discharge line. It will take whatever comes off that roof with it.

    My neighbors yard is about 3ft higher than mine, and because of that, I get a decent amount of standing water in my backyard and it taxes my French drain system in my basement. I am not sure what system would be best (French drain or backyard drain)… and my other issues is my neighbor has trees nearby… any recommendations?

      @@FRENCHDRAINMAN Thank you very much. I am on video number 2. My son recently bought a house and he got a great price. Part of the reason for the great deal is the problems that need to be solved. We solved a bunch of them but now to tackle the water coming into the basement. Good stuff.

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  Před 4 měsíci

      You can be as shallow as you want in the North. Because if you build it right with slope, it will not hold water, so there will be no water in it to freeze.
