You keep teaching this old dog new tricks. Thanks Bob
There have been so many times that I have seen one of Bob‘s videos but I forgot to like it. Let’s remember to do that every time.
Good explanation, Bob, and you didn’t even sneak any math in there..👍Tony
youre the man bob...........i'm an old fisherman and i love youre vids......i had a younger brother that passed and he was a rat rod builder...........his cars looked alot like youres........
Bob, I just love your videos, love your builds as well. I instruct auto technology at a high school tech class. I just wanted to let you know I’ll be using this video as a reference this year when I cover steering theory , Ackerman Angle , A.K.A - toe out on turns. This will be a great example how someone like yourself never stops learning and how knowledge is power. Dig this ol truck it’s the best one yet you have done! So ya, there’s that.
We had a Mr. Barnes that taught auto shop at our high school too lol. Must be a family thing!
👍👍😎👍👍 ...... RRBB - the BEST, real world car building channel out there! Thanks Bob for all you share. 😊
Thank you Bob not just for making these videos but for sharing your knowledge and experience with others. Your down-to-earth explanations and teaching style is not wasted on this Ol’ Alabama boy. Keep on keeping’ on sir!
Passing on of your knowledge is much appreciated Bob!
Bob, CZcams needs to recommend you much more. You are a treasure in the hotrod world not just raffles. I have picked up valuable tips in building and fabrication. Preesheatcha
Thanks for explaining the steering system geometry to us Bob ... didn’t realize that the steering arms had to be changed for correct turning radius.
Another lesson explaining the how's and why's things work, form Rat Rod Bob's School of Rat Rod Oledgy! And showing us the befoe and after to help us understand what and why it works! Thank you Bob! Excellent teaching and explaining how and why it needs to be done!
Love ya Bob.............you call i scrubbing . we use to call it plowing......hey Red....
Great job, as usual BOB. I really enjoy watching your videos. You explain things so anyone can understand, as long as they will listen to you. Thanks for your time and efforts educating those that don't know.
Great info - I am 61 and I learn from your videos
I'm over fifty years professional welder and I'm inspired by what I see with you
Great job, easy to understand, teaching some complex stuff and putting it in a simple format! You do a great job and you have plenty of knowledge to share! Thanks for sharing! Whomever is not watching you, that's their problem! Have a great day!
Now that is some slick Ratrodology right there Bob!! Something every rodders needs to understand. My shop teacher taught this to me back in 88, but I'm afraid it's a lost lesson in the classroom these days with all this "technology" lol Tell Red he needs to get in the next video or he doesn't get shotgun on the first drive 😁👍
I been watching you while I subbed while back immediately. That was a good explanation. This is one of the best old iron channels their is.
Bob, you are a genuine old school master.
Bob I love your videos I watch them all the time.
More great info from the Professor of Rat Rodolagy, damn them king pins slide out easy!
You tube might not recommended your videos but I do with all my friends, even if they don't have a ratrod, we can always hope they'll inspire someone to start a build, thanks for all the time you take to bring us important information
Thanks for that!
Thanks for the lesson on steering geometry Bob. Between You and Your Cousin Ken in Washington, You got The University of Ratrodology going well. Thanks for sharing, Best Wishes... 👍💪
Come on guys, lets get Bob and Red to a million + subs!!!! The whole world needs to know how cool these guys are and the knowledge shared on this channel!!!!! I dont care if they even like Ratrods, they will after one video. With that said, keep em coming Bob watchin and learnin!!!!!
Thanks Bawb. I recommend your channel to all my car nut friends, and some that just enjoy learning stuff from cool elderly gentlemen.
Much appreciated
Little knowledge, Hell, you know more than most people have forgotten......Thanks, Gene in Idaho
I tell ya what Bob..... no matter what anyone says, You Sure Know Your Stuff.... Professor Bob... School of Rat Rodology! Sign Up and get your diploma from Professor Bob!!!
Love your videos Bob, your teaching a new generation of how to do it correctly.
I’ve been a junk yard builder and fabricator for years. Harpadzo
Nice work bob. A lot of car builders need to watch this video it would make their cars steer a lot better and stop scrubbing those front tires😊 take care brother👍
Hey Bob just wanted to say thank you for teaching me about ACKERMANN did not know much about it. I have gotten mine fixed now. Take care BOB👍
HOPE WE GOT SOME YOUNG BUCKS COMING UP BEHIND YOU Bob , to CARRY ON and FOLLOW IN YOUR FOOTSTEPS
Like my grandpop from the woods of Pennsyltucky used to say. "I'm tryin ta learn ya"
Well I just got learnt some more. Thanks Bob. Love the videos and the music.
As good an explanation of ackerman angle I've ever seen. Not complicated at all ! That is a hard thing to do for folks that don't quite get it. Great job, Bob, keep it up!
I hear ya ... the videos I watched on this subject makes it more confusing than it has to be. But really those folks are making videos for the money and not to share knowledge. You know what I'm talking about ... these talking heads ramble on and on for 20 minutes and might give you 30 seconds of info you can use.
Been to school today. A far sight better then school 55 years ago and I'm pretty sure better then the schools today.
You're awesome Bob.....we need a lot more like you.....Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
I’ve read about the Ackerman angle. Haven’t had a chance to implement it yet. But I understand it real good. I’m ready now.
Enjoying the journey and motivation Bob! Going to sshop to work on mine. Sent this to my brother👏🏼👊🏼🙏🏼🌻
Thank you so much. Never had anybody explain that so simply.
love your work mate! Looks Awesome!
Thanks for the lesson been watching this build from the beginning I think this thing is gonna be awesome learning something new every time👍👍
Well done Bob. Thanks for sharing. Best regards
I now understand why the steering set up I built years ago never worked right. The whole tire-scrub thing. Thank you!!!
Good information on this problem that most people don't have a clue how to fix
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
thanks Bob ,i learn something today i went to school ,,,,thank you ,,,,ive built hotrods before but never a Rat Rod .....
Me and the kids love to watch your videos.. Matt from Indiana
Well done, most do not understand front end geometry but is the details like this that makes a build better
Hey Bob. What a video. You never cease to amaze me. Ratrodalegy is very clear when You explain it. I hear you, but I'll never use it. Cause it is over my head. 29.4K subscribers is pretty good. You are my # one guy that I look for when looking at me notification videos Bob. Thanks for sharing. I'll tell more of my friends about you so they can support you. 👍👍🍁
Wow, thanks!
@@RatRodBobBuilds My Pleasure Bob. You were one of the first guys to sub my channel when I started way back. So THANK YOU and RED.
Nice job on explaning Ackerman angle. Guess we know that the bad steering angle is why it's called a suicide front end! Extreme Ackerman angle is why post office trucks and English taxis can make such tight turns.
Scientific rat rod calculations can get deep, but you explained it well. I always hit the like button. 👍 I mean whats not to like?
Saw a perfect example of what your discussing in this video for sale in Oklahoma. Good looking truck, chrome, paint, interior.....steering arm way out front, completely out of alignment. Very informative for us novice out there. Thanks, keep the videos and info coming.
Sticks out like a sore thumb .. right?!!?
@@RatRodBobBuilds Yes it does, easy to spot once you explained what to look for.
I’ve shared your channel on my Facebook page Bob totally worth the effort to help you get more subscribers. You are gifted believe that!
Thank you Bob, I did not know this!
Everytime I watch a video from you, I definitely learn, and in a great way. Good thing "Red" didn't explain it, or the front axle would be behind the rear end. Lol thanks for your time "BAWB". Have a safe and blessed day.
Wow. That's was a great job Bob👍👍🇨🇱
Just like I said on his video I dont know who I like more you or Waylons Wires videos. Your both great biulders of awesome rats.
A many great vehicles have been drawn out on the garage (or hangar) floor. Back in the 1930's the Wedell-Williams air racers were built from chalk marks on the hangar floor. Those were the only "blueprints" or "plans". These were record breaking aircraft. That's the first thing I thought of when you were building the frame and suspension.
Good job of taking the Ache out of the Ackerman Angle
Ha haa ... good one!
We learn something new every day. I'll be looking for that angle once some shows start up again. Soon I hope.
Some folks have the problem and don't even know they have it much less how to fix it ... because their car goes straight real good.
Being an ex, oval track guy, I know exactly what ackerman effect is! But you explained it, about as well as I've seen anyone explain it! Job well done!
OH, BTW, you could get into a whole nother issue, if you started discussing toe in, vs. toe out! LOL
That Rat's comin along nicely Bob. I like it & I subscribe to the ratability of it. 😎
Baawwb.. another great video,i see Red wasn't around for that, musta fried a circuit about Ackerman.👍🤪
Guess i'm gonna include you in my other media, twitter. Majician of metal Rat Rod Bob. We aint just watching Bob. We learning stuff. Ever darn time. Been subscribed for awhile now. heck I missed you when your not putting videos out.
Lets help ole Bob yall. The man deserves a emmy. OK probly dont want no emmy aaward
I don't require any thing like an Emmy or fame. Not my thing. And actually ... I'm reluctant to even do these videos but I think I can help you guys out is the only reason I do it.
Thanks, Bob I have been a tech for quite some time but never even gave this one thought before. thanks for your time and knowledge. Much respect for you and your cars sir.
This is one old school car builder here. Most of the younger generations are trying to keep up you old builder's.
Im a better ratrodder because of u! Keep it up!
Awesome video Bob. I liked the "Were Gettin It Just Don't Have It Yet" very good information.
Love what you do Bob. Can’t wait to see that truck move. You deserve a lot more attention than you are getting. Persevere, my friend!
You did a nice job explaining that. That makes all the difference how the car drives. People swapping front suspension clips need to check this on there chassis too.
Bob you are the best! Thanks for the information, it was really interesting. I'll never look at a straight axle front end the same way again!
Great video, greetings from the Netherlands! you are so right, most of those suspensions are so wrong. You got your scrupfactor right, most of the cars have that wrong which will cause those deathwobbles, keep those instructions coming!
A good lesson Bob! Thank’s for enlightening me....👍
Thanks bob, lots of good information. As always. Also like the new music
You took me to school again Bob 👍
Rat Rod Bob Builds...my favorite channel.
Baaawwwbb,,,, YOU R God's GIFT TO RAT RODOLOGY !!! Love Your Channel, Tell Red Howdy n Have a Blessed Wknd Y'all 😎😎😎😎 !!
Nice work as usual Bob, I wouldn't expect anything less!
Bob, I've been a professional tech for 40 + years, done some auto shop teaching, and you absolutely get it !! Keep up the good work, Bob. Love your channel !
This video is really gonna help a lot of people
Good morning, Bob, even though I don't know how to speak your language, I managed to understand today's class perfectly and how the convergence of wheels and steering works, you are an excellent teacher.
Hug from your biggest fan in Brazil.
You write impeccable English, I didn't even realize that you weren't American until I read Brazil.
@@TheRoadhammer379 Thanks
That actually was a great explanation. Using a simple drawing.
Looking real good Bob, my Chevy scrubs at low speed in tight turns, my alignment guy did the best he could because I wanted the stock wheels to work with aftermarket disc brakes, so had to use 2" spacers on the fronts. I park in spots where we can just wheel in without a lot of maneuvering... great days to ya !
Bob.I love your videos.Ive said it before, your talent and knowledge just blows my mind. Thanks for sharing more of your talent and knowledge with us.
Love your saying ratrodoligei 😜just a legend you are a mathematical god to work that out bob
Bob I really enjoy your videos you're such an inspiration keep up the good work thank you
Glad you like them!
Good Job Bob , If you didnt fix That your Truck would have drove like a Bumper Car , Remember those at the Fairground . One Wheel Drive and Steering . If turned those wheels to much it send you the Other way He he he .
Very informative Bob this is something I did not know an like you stated there's a lot of people out there that don't know it either. And hey boys and girls like Bob said Like, Share, and most of all Subscribe because it's FREE it don't cost ya a durn thing 👍
Great music Bawb
I have very much enjoyed this build. You give a guy confidence that he can do this kind of stuff for himself. Thanks for all the info and entertainment. I think I saw a video that you said that you were not going to use the fender flares for the bed. I'd love to see you figure out how to use them on the rat rod .maybe welding them to the axle.
G'day Bob ,,
Again,, you make it look so easy . Im a gettin it Bob ,and im a liking it .
I reckon even ol Red be gettin it ,, keep an eye on him Bob .
Much Respect

Great video on the front end steering an how it works,an what needs to checked an set-up. Your build an explanation, has gotten me back on building my 23 street rod again... Keep up the great videos an explanation on what an how you make work all together....
Glad to hear it!
Good explanation of toe. You should explain the relationship between toe in and caster. The more caster the less tow in. I like your videos. Years ago I got a book written by Castin on race car suspension and theory. I also have a copy of high speed/low cost. There are literal diagrams drawn out. Your explanation agrees with these books on theory. I have been using 10 degrees + of caster and zero toe on my builds. The proper caster gets rid of front end wobble. You obviously have the eye for correct looking hot rod builds.
Thank you Bob. Love your videos! Keep up the killer builds please.
i watch every one of your videos Bob great job keep um coming
Well I preciate ya definitely one of my favorite channels way up here in Canada always amazed at your knowledge skills and abilities which are nothing without your vision....SUBSCRIBED!

Much lov...
Good job Bob, I had never heard about that steering problem before, I definitely learned something! Thanks for the video Bob, your the rat rod specialists!
Thanks for the great tips and advice Bob, never realized that till you explained it in terms we can all understand. This must have been over Red's head, i didn't see him offering you any advice..
Hi from Austarlia, thankyou for explaining this clearly for me. A friend of mine has the same problem with his T bucket I will be telling him to watch this video
Looking great bob. Can’t wait to see the trailer
Technically, since you are modifying the spindles, you could move the tie rod to the back if you make drop down arms. They would however, have to be much longer and heavier than the ones you made. Going to be a great ride when you're done for sure.
