Lexan Windshield Cut Fit & Install - Chop Top Rat Rod Truck

- Let's cut to the chase then cut some lexan and make a windshield out of it for the chopped top Rat Rod Truck. Then later we can use that for a pattern for the glass shop to cut laminated glass. It's a split windshield so we make custom center section metal molding pieces to sandwich the center split together. It's a custom built truck so it deserves a custom windshield.
Did you know you can use super glue to put together the rubber windshield seal after it's cut to size for a chopped top?
Also we get a look at the whole truck ... it's awesome!
For those who like to watch the build!

Good afternoon, Professor Bob, Loving the progress! Did I hear you say......Road Trip? She is a pretty little girl! Say hey to Red!
Soapy water in a spray bottle helps with putting the rubber in the frame
Windshield looks like it was made for it. 👍🏼🤣😉
This maybe the only video on youtube showing a windshield being put in on a rat rod great job as always
I do believe you're right.
Bob its great to be able to watch a pro like you at work. Thanks.
Next time you try a window install, lube the rubber with a soapy solution, you'll find that a bit easier.
Seen them use a soapy spray bottle , but every professional have there own way of installation.
LOOKIN GOOD MR. BOB. YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MR. RAT ROD BOB
Mr. Rat, I truly enjoy watching you 'brainstorm' your way into complicated projects with an off-handed manner. Always a pleasure, sir. Greetings from Virginia.

Hey Bob, the windshield really turned out nice, the flat bar down the middle finished it off good
Well done Cap'n Bob! Looks perfect! 👍
Another great job by Bob.
Dang it Bawb, I'm diggin this build a lot, Black cherry is looking bittersweet.
Looks good! A little rain X plastic and your all set.
Oh yes!
The Windshield looks fantastic, it does look factory. So would the other windows, if you do them in Lexan Glass it would look amazing with all the windows in it and just make the side windows pull straps. Back window would take about a hour to put in,if you take your time. Next put some black wipers on it with a hand crank "awesome ". Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family RAT ROD BOB, love you man .can't wait until your next video 🤔 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌😊✌

koooool , I always knew that stuff was good for sumthin'
McGuire's makes a mirror glaze product that the motorcycle is used on their lexan/Plexiglas. Removes the superficial scratches
Good to know brother!
Similar to the McGuire's, Kit Scratch Out. I use the Scratch Out and now the McGuire's on acrylic (lexan) saxophone mouthpieces that I rework for customers. If you have some scratches, you can lightly sand with silicon carbide wet or dry paper, 800, then 1000, then 1200, finally 2000. Then polish with the plastic polish and voila!
I love old school mate, a job well done. you have switched me from hotrods to ratrods, I love the look.
Well done Bob on the windscreen in fact the whole car looks fantastic, proud of you mate
