Wow, I never knew a War Of The Worlds collection could be so extensive and awesome man. I've never seen the original WotW believe it or not, I have to get around to seeing it at some point. I've also seen an edition of the Spielberg version (from Japan I believe?) called the Emergency Box edition which comes with a bowling ball sized replica of Earth with the alien on it like on the normal front cover of the DVD and Blu-Ray.
Thanks, Neil! Always appreciate your comments, buddy. Of all the WotW stuff that I have, the special edition DVD of the '53 version is my favorite edition. That booklet makes it a little more special. Spielberg did a great job indeed, but I would've like to see a movie version that takes place in the late 1800s, early 1900s - just like in the book. I think that's a much more interesting setting.
Hey buddy! Haven't read the book, but that CD of the original broadcast is way cool!! I didn't even know it existed. I've of course heard all about the broadcast and have always wanted to hear it! Now I know I can, that's too cool! Your Benelux edition looks beautiful! Never even knew about any musical version! LOL That too is quite a lovely set! I only have the '53 version (with Ann Robinson and Gene Barry) and the '05 Spielberg version. I didn't know it was a show back in the fifties either.
Definitely check out the '53 version. It's my favorite movie adaptation of the book. I'm familiar with the Japanese boxset. I was never impressed by it, to be honest. Thanks for watching and commenting, buddy!
Great vid Donny! l love the Spielberg version, but it's time l'll pick up the original version, and while l'm at it, the Dutch book + the Jeff Wayne cd set! I recall that J. Wayne Eve of the world being released...l was about 9, and l thought it was kinda scary but good music LOL
Thanks, Frans! I'm not sure if the digipack edition of the '53 version is still available, but the regular edition is easy to get. And with a little luck you might find Wayne's cd set as well.
Man... I'm retarded! I went and checked out my versions after watching this vid, and it turns out that my '53 version is a collector's edition which includes the original Mercury Theater on air broadcast! I've had that dvd for years and never even knew about that awesome special feature. I'm popping that in real soon! Have you seen the '05 "Globe Version"? I'm not sure what exactly to call it or where it's from, but that always looked like a wonderful edition. Your collection always amazes me!!
That 1953 set looks sweet...love the whole collection though, and I also liked the Spielberg version! When you watch a movie, do you prefer watching in Dutch or in English?
Thanks, Dean! I prefer watching a movie in its original language with Dutch or English subtitles. I hate it when they dubbed movies like they do in Germany and France. Luckily, we don't do that in my country.
I'd love to go to the War of the Worlds stage show one day. I bet that was a great experience. Thanks, Dave. Hope you're doing well.
Beautiful editions - that is some really great stuff you have there - thanks for showing:)!!!!

did you know that gene barry and Ann Robinson did a cameo appearance in war of the worlds (2005) film
I think the book cover could very well be canvas.
I have Tom cruise war of the worlds
That's a good one.
