Watch this video to see how the first round can be played with the Nomad faction in the awesome Twilight Imperium 4 (TI4) board game, including the Prophecy of Kings (PoK) expansion.
In this faction strategy guide, I will show you examples of how the first round can go with the best strategy cards, so that you have a chance to pick exactly that card the next time you play Twilight Imperium.
All the factions basic abilities, faction specific technologies, and recommended technologies to research are covered in the video as well.
All tips are based on the base game, including the Prophecy of Kings expansion and all three codices: 1) Ordinian 2) Affinity, and 3) Vigil
During the video, basic rules are briefly covered as well, but a basic knowledge of how to play this game is expected.

Whoops! You are absolutely right. Dropping off units is part of invasion that happens after movement and only in the active system! Comment will be pinned and thanks for pointing this out!
Your production quality is wonderful! I love the addition of the other camera angles well done sir! I will be playing the Nomad next Friday in a 6 player game. @@essersgamingcave Hey we had a great game altogether. It was super nice and made better with your help! I played the Nomad together with a friend because we were 7 people but wanted to play only with 6 players. First round we had fourth pick and magically got Trade. We also built the galaxy and we were super lucky to get Hope's End and another high resource system in our slice...crazy! Players besides us were Naalu, Xxcha, Clan of Saar, Embers and Keleres. Second round we took Trade again and oh boy were we rolling in it! We produced some nice fleets finally got another dock and bought some CCs. We ate into our neighbor Xxcha for a juicy semlore yellow skip haha. Things were looking great when we got Memoria II early but Clan of Saar managed to take MR and the table, including myself, struggled to keep them in check. One mistake we may have made as Nomad was not positioning our fleets adjacent to MR (and also not focusing on Imperial SC and secret objectives early enough). For us the adjacent system was an empty space and we focused on defending our systems. In hindsight, we probably should not have bought so many Dreadnoughts bc of the lack of movement. We did eventually upgrade them but later in the fourth round which helped in our late game combats. By the third round we got Leadership preparing for the Hero. We still had not scored our secret obj., ("kill the flagship or warsun of another player"). Ended up switching Support for the Thrones with Xxcha (we didnt get Custodians) so that we could score our second secret ("have a promissary note in your play area"), super easy one for us ofc! We did manage in the fifth round to kill the Embers' Prototype II War Sun to score our first secret. This led us in the end to get 9 points! However Clan of Saar won by getting custodians, a few secrets and some clever Imperial plays. I think we could have played a bit better but I'm happy with 2nd place :) unfortunately the game ended before we used our hero and I believe we also focused to much on preparing for that. Thank you for your guide it was very very helpful!! I think if I were to play them again, I would focus just a little bit less on money (especially if my slice is resource rich) and focus more on Imperial and controlling MR. We did attack Saar on MR once and they retreated but we couldn't take the ground combat haha. Very fun mix of factions and I really enjoy building the galaxy. Thanks again so much!

Thank you for your video. Your explanations are top notch! I played as the Nomad in my last game and started with a mostly empty slice. The first tech was the dark energy tap to explore those empty spaces. However I overstretched my exploration and a neighbor could fly into my empty home-system. Played the rest of the game sitting on Mecatol without my home system. At the fifth round, I finally managed to take back my home system, so I could score points again. But even then, the point from imperial were enough to keep up with the rest. Was a very steep learning curve to remember to protect your home system and don't rely on your bribes to keep your own planet safe.
That is a tough game you had there! It sounds like a harsh maneuver from an opponent, and I would have argued, as a 3rd player, for him leaving your HS the round after simply to keep you in the race. I hope you still enjoy the game though and thank you for both the compliments and sharing your story! Best of luck to you in future games, and protect that HS! :)
@@essersgamingcave Another tip for Nomad, is the scuttle action card. scuttle your flagship for 8 trade goods, bank them on your agent and rebuild your flagship... for free with the commander!

Best video so far. Sound and video quality is so much better, if we compare with some older videos. Cool, I hope I will have possibility to play Nomad soon. Please add Keleres to next voting ;) BTW I have troubles with Trade SC, someone usually starts to shout Do not trade with Viesturs, do not take X-1, he will be too rich :DDDDD

Played Nomad today as my final faction, so I played with all factions now. Ready for upcoming guides! FS I did not upgrade because had no green skip. Was crazy game, Tech was not taken R1 and some R5, Jol Nar was crying :D

@@essersgamingcave most likely yes, but I managed win without. Used hero for fancy moving 2 times im a row with Fleet logistics, Gravity drive helped. Did not feel good, because Xxcha had variant how to winslay me. We were 3 sure winners, Xxcha decided not to kingmake. I won with Leadership initiative.

16:44 I don't believe you can pick up those fighters from Hope's End because there is a command counter there? Or does the hero's ability ignore this rule?
Nice guide; the interaction possibilities with the mechs, flagship and hero always make me dizzy, need to rewatch those parts several times XD
Rules compendium says this: "The Memoria may transport ground forces from systems containing one of the Nomad player’s command tokens while the ability of Ahk-Syl Siven is active."
So, I guess fighters are allowed as well?

Yes it is the Hero that allows this. The ability says units, so Infantry, Mechs and fighters can be picked up from systems with Nomads command tokens in them :) and I agree it takes a few examples to really understand how this combination can be used!
Yes the Hero just says units. So any unit that can be transported :)
