You could theoretically grab mechatol first round with them with warefare and a well placed diplomacy. It might even be a viable move if you save up you tg you get from taking planets, but you would be #1 enemy at the table.

I just wanted to tell you that I love your TI4 faction guides! The examples how you can play the first rounds with the different factions, completely changed my understanding of certain mechanics. Handy guide! Helped me get my first TI win in a 6 player 10 point game. Defensive path, with lots PDS2 placed in and around my home system and a tech related stage 2 victory condition. Managed to get a round 2 Mechatol point via gravity drive as a nice bonus.

Mech clarification: It basically a "Rule of Two" bonus. If you have this mech and exactly 1 other (only two mechs) then you get the bonus explore.

I like them...I am personally a huge fan of fighters II.. This race got 2 fast carriers from start...they can carry much fighters...you even pump fighters out like crazy in your home system with 2 space docks. I would go for 4 fleet supply and build three cheap armadas...two fleets with two carrier II (with the pair boost), and lots of fighters and ground forces each, and 1 fleet with the 2 flagships and lots fighters/groundforces...everybody on the board gets nervous ;) go for neural motivator to get those moral boosts and fighter prototype action cards to shred other fleets, and then hyper metabolism to be able to move your deadly fleets around the board ;) . And go for scanlink drones (for the mechs), hope for a yellow tech skip and then tech spacedock II to mass -produce fighters to death in your home system. The 2 heroes shreds, too. The racial techs are for the trashcan. Have a nice day :)

I would think Jotun's ability would continue the theme of pairs for the faction. So, if you win a ground combat with a mech, and there is exactly one other mech there (a pair), you can explore the planet.

They seem to not bring much power or utility to the table. Agressive, but without enough strength to establish dominance.

Another important note is that unlike most factions, their upgraded infantry come back on any planet they control, not just their home system. Awesome video, looking forward to more overviews for the other factions!

Assuming no tech skips, a tech path of Sling Relay > AIDA > Dim Splicer gives you 2 in 2 colors and let's you pivot to PDS2, Fighter 2, Dread 2, Carrier 2, or even Destroyer 2 depending on your needs, POs, SOs, table meta, etc. You could even pivot to full blue or full red if needed. Also, don't sleep on the strength of PDS2 and the Flagship. PDS2 + Dim Splicer before your opponent can do anything is really powerful.

Cool way to make Daxtive relevant. Interesting game mechanic with hero. These fellows feel like Yin relatives.

What program do you use to play?

The mech counters space cannons pretty well for both space and ground combat. Also, the dreadnought combos VERY well with duranium. It lets a fleet with one dread repair each combat round.

Eradica is stronger than you mentioned. Remember that units are not infinite. So, hunting low volume high value targets like flagships, warsuns, and mechs can seriously hamper your opponents! 🎉

Fights, carriers and ground forces only seem good for sardak. I'd go those techs too. Only needing blue and green techs.

While I do agree the exchange of guaranteed hit for not guaranteed hit is bad, rerolls are VERY powerful things in dice based games. This faction is very focused on combat, which isn't a very powerful part of the game, but they appear to be VERY strong in that.

Playing VRC this weekend! Great advice here. I think I'll try going biostims and hopefully I can snag leadership or construction! Not sure I totally agree about sling relay, but maybe I'll give that a try too. Assauly cannon is perfect for them, love the tip

Defense matrix overload - I think you can use that in a combat you're not participating in. That might expand its use to cause two fleets to be more destructive against each other

These fellows look strong: start with 2 dreads, flahship is insane, faction tech is strong, starting techs both good, single 4 res home, 2 destroyers as 1 regarding fleet limits, agent cool with red planet exploration, tier 3 upgrade tech I like. For sure can figure how to deal with inf problem. These I will print! BTW tomorrow I will play TI3, never tried before❤

Nice video! Becoming damaged is not the same as using sustain damage. If your ship becomes damaged, other players cannot use Direct Hit on it, as it is not using the Sustain Damage ability. It is the same as with Argent's abilities.
