Excellent video. One of the most informative presentations on photographic composition I have seen.
Thanks a lot Stephen - really happy to hear that :)
Thank you. Two words that are simple to say but not said enough.
Man, you are just gold for most of the beginner photographers ( me* ) thank you so much
You're very welcome, Fartadi! Happy you like the videos :)
'Would you like to see more videos like this?' you ask. Absolutely 100% yes we would (I took the liberty of speaking for everyone else there, sorry everyone else). Excellent very informative video Mads 😉
Awesome, the response has been very good, so I'll make more in the future :)
Thank´s a lot for this video. Now it make´s sense why i like or not like some of my pictures. Before i saw this video i had no clue. Again, a big thank you for posting this!!
Currently using my water months studying the theory of composition… Your blurred out Kirkjufell picture very strongly reminds me of the movement in Van Gogh’s « Starry Night »
All priorities with good examples in one uncluttered place - like it! Now after seeing this I might remember to include more factors in my photos, always one is forgotten. Just remembering the right iso is sometimes a problem for me. Thank you.
Thank you so much Mads. Straight to the point with great visual aids
This is the best composition explanation I’ve seen, thank you Mads
These "Tips" are excellent and well appreciated! Please keep making them...
Have been binging a lot of Photography videos. This is a great one for composition. A lot of these videos can be repetitive, but this offered and explained some new insight into the subject of composition. Thank you!
I think your undoubted photography skills are matched by your communication and teaching skills. For me you make the main points in a clear way that is very effective. I went out this morning and saved several frames of film by following your guidance and declining after realising what the possible shots were missing. This is quite liberating as I feel much more in control when considering the merits of a potential composition. Thank you.
Wow, thank you for such kind words! :)
I really learnt a lot! Thanks for your great photos and videos!
Excellent composition tutorial! I've seen a lot on composition, and this one outranks them all. Thanks!
This was very helpful, all five steps I've seen and heard before but your examples and insight help make the principles more concrete if that makes any sense. Thanks for sharing, your efforts are certainly appreciated.
I really like your videos and the tips in them. Especially, because the pictures shown help to visualize your explanations. Thanks and please keep posting such content.
I always enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Thank you so much!
Excellent tutorial, Mads. This is the first of your vids I've seen. You have an excellent ability to present material clearly and very understandably without loud music, flash and bombast. This is a refreshing change from normal tutorial videos on YT. Well done! Keep more like this coming.
Thank you very much Patrick! I sure will :)
One of the best and important videos about composition that I have ever come across on youtube so far.
Thank you very much! Very happy to hear that :)
Thank you for this Mads. It helps reinforce what I sometimes forget about doing...."Point of Interest".
You're very welcome Ryan :) Yeah it's something which just have to be there :)
Very well done. You have done a great job at explaining composition with visual examples. I have seen many videos of people rambling on, but you never fully understand what they mean. This video feels much like an instructor from school. Great job and as always, great work.
Thanks a lot Daniel! Me being educated schoolteacher might have a thing to say ;)
Excellent and informative vlog Mads. I particularly liked the tip to do with balance. The image at 10:12 is stunning mate, you also used images to highlight the tips really well too.
I hope you are keeping well. Take care.
Thanks a lot Andy! I'm happy my picture choices made sense and I'll be doing more of these in the future :)
Excellent vidéo man ! I now understand clearly why some of my pictures work whereas some others don't !
Thank You for this! You are a good teacher! With best wishes, Manfred
absolutely love this. plz bring more of it
Very useful, thanks a lot. I am an amateur and can seldom make sense of more esotheric advice for pros. I also cannot live photography like artists do. But most of your advice can be put into practice directly to make my shots better.
Thanks so much for your very helpful tipps and explanations! Great work
I’m new to your channel and really enjoyed this vlog looking forward to watching the rest keep up the good work
Thanks Mads! Like your presentation style. Useful guidelines, that do need to be broken sometimes, especially that of balance. Please make more of these type of videos.
Very informative and helpful, thank you!
This was amazingly helpful. As someone who is getting started in photography it's hard to know what to look for when composing an image. There is so much generic advise on youtube but this gave specific things to look out for and you explained what everything meant very well. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
You're very welcome Justin :) Happy you liked the format!
I totally agree with all you said Mads...
Thank you very much Allan :)
This is really good stuff. Simple, well illustrated and easy to comprehend. Thank you so much
A truly outstanding video and tutorial, Mads. Learnt an awful lot, thank you and would welcome some more videos on these lines. You’re an inspiration.
Thanks a lot Tony! More will come then :)
Very very helpful Mad, thank you so much!

I really enjoyed this. Great job presenting your points with visual examples.
Amazing explanation ❤️🙏🏽.. my main take away..creating balance..
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽☺️
Really enjoy the lessons in your videos. Thank you!
Very well explained and illustrated. I am applying all of your 5 tips "by feeling" since long time already, but your explanations make me do that in the future more consciously. Like your calm and professional way a lot!
And - yes (same as Tony Neat) - please offer more of these videos beyond your other ones.
Love the video. Simplifies the principals of the incredibly difficult process of capturing a meaningful story. Make more 👍😉
You're very welcome, Stig! :)
"Really loved it" thanks.. Mads Peter Iversen...
Great tutorial! It never hurts to be reminded of the basics and you explained them extremely well. Great job!
Thanks a lot Biff! :)
Superbe explanation of basic rules. Your are communicating it with maestro ; artist's work. Keep posting such video. Thank you.
I learn so much from your videos! They are excellent.
These are great tips. I hope you will continue to do more. I think most people, struggle with composition, and these types of tips help!! Look forward to your next video.
Thanks a lot Candice!Yeah composition is a hard nut to crack :/
Excellent video and descriptions of the "rules". I sent this to my father in law in the hopes he stops asking me how to take better photos! Make more of these!

Very informative video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you Mads I will commit these 5 points to memory and in the future I will bare them in mind before I release the shutter as I have always struggled when it comes down to Landscapes.
You're welcome Steve! I hope you'll get some good photos :)
thanks Mads, that's probably the best and easiest to understand tutorial I have seen from the many vlogs I have viewed to date. Please can we have more.
Thanks a lot Keith! Yes you will have more :)
I'm really glad I found your channel, very informative so far!
You're most welcome and welcome aboard :)
Excellent tips and very well explained. Most of which I haven't heard in similar videos. Great video!
ed8642 that is so good to hear! I want to be as original as possible :)
Thanks. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely like to see more of this type of content. The “anti-models” are really helpful in exemplifying your points and I really like the fact that you use your own past images to show your journey as a photographer. By this I mean that it shows that you too have experiemented, made mistakes, reflected and learned in order to get where you are. This is encouraging as it means there is hope for us all...
Thank you very much Nick! :)
Very well done Mads. I really look forward to your videos.
Brilliant, packed with useful information. Thank you.
Thank you very much, Richard :)
Always love your videos my friend....great content.
Mads Peter, very interesting video, thank you for sharing!
Great refresher tips
Wonderful Tutorial, Thank You!!!
Thank you very much :)
Fantastic video! Most photographers may know these tips, but you have a way of presenting them that brings them to life and gives them great teaching benefit.
I truly like how you use multiple photo examples for each tip and how you show us examples where you didn't use the tip. It really aids in my learning it.
Thanks a lot Cosmo! Means a lot it makes sense with my examples :)
Again, you make perfect videoes 🙏🙏🙏
Excellent tips! Much better than geometrical rules. Nice sidenote about tools and not rules! Thank you!!
Thank you Hugo! Much appreciated :)
Thanks Mads, very informative and useful tips to remember. More please!
You're very welcome - more will come ;)

Thanks a lot Michel!
Thankyou, less is definitely more! both in pictures and tutorials. Really enjoyed this
You're welcome Simon, I'm happy to hear that :)
I really enjoyed this latest video Mads, and as you probably know I've watched them all ;) Using the blur to simplify the images and help analyze the composition was a stroke of genius, and I can't agree more with the 5 tips you chose. I think there's definitely room for this kind of content mixed in with your regular programming, and I particularly enjoy hearing how you approach thinking about your photography as a deliberate act of creation and composition as much as I enjoy the epic finished images themselves. This is some great educational content in a pretty compact and easy to understand form, and I love that you didn't even mention the damned rule of thirds (I wish I could unlearn it!). Great stuff!
You're very welcome Jon and I'm happy you enjoyed it! I'll make more in the future and I'll make a video on how to properly use the rule-of-thirds ;)
Great video, one of many great videos! I enjoy watching your channel! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot! I'm very happy to hear that :)
Very cool video. And yes, please, more. I. Love the way you compose, and your color choices so for me it would be perfect to learn from what you have do share. Thanks man!!!
You're very welcome Hugo :)
Very nice video! Yes, I would like you to do more “tips” videos.
Great tips, very well explained.
Thanks a lot John! :)
Very Helpful❤️
Effective demonstration. Thanks!
You're very welcome :)
Fantastic Mads!! you are the greatest!!
Aaaww that's too sweet, Jay :)
