Das Auto wurde zwar von GM Europe in Biel verkauft, aber nicht dort gebaut (Produktionsstandort: Van Nys, Kalifornien). Produktion in Biel hat 1975 komplett geendet und der letzte Pontiac lief dort bereits 1959 vom Band. Bis Ende Sechziger wurden dort noch ein paar Chevys gebaut, aber hauptsächlich waren es Opel und Vauxhall, die in Biel vom Band liefen.
@@autojogi USA. eBay, Rockauto und Konsorten. Radlager habe ich aber über einen US-Teilehändler hier in der Schweiz bezogen, da er sie auf Lager hatte (eshop-rewi.ch).

Gotta love your step by step restoration .Yes all american steeringwheels use the imperial bolts ,I got the same bolts used in both my 88 Firebird and my 1999 chrysler 300M. They somehow agreed to use something that's impossible to find in Europe. I got 3 bolts in a set for exactly this job because first time I hit this problem it was a nightmare. Also a nightmare when you try to bleed the brakes ...them 3/8s lol Oh and man you sure need some white letter tires with those rims. I know they are expensive here in Europe but go for some BfGoodrich 215/65R15 or 235/60R15 they have them both WLT

Switch im Lenkrad? Das sind nur 2 Metallkontakt, wo ufenand druckt werdet. Dött chan nöd viel kaputt go. Mach mol dä Hupchnopf, Pralltopf oder Airbag vom Lenkrad abe (je nach dem, was du häsch) und tue dä Kontakt zum Hupchnopf noch Masse kurzschlüsse (Achtung, falls en Airbag häsch, uf gar kein Fall dä gäli Airbag-Stecker churzschlüsse). Müssti sofort hupe, sobald s'Kabel uf Masse verbindsch. Denn isches effektiv s Lenkrad. Wenns das nöd macht, denn isches nöd dä Schalter im Lenkrad, sondern entweder e Unterbrechig im Kabel, e kaputts Relais oder es Problem im Motorrum (Kabel oder d'Hupe selber). Wenns d'Schalter selber sind: die häts früener no als Ersatzteil geh. Aber au scho länger nüme. Entweder findsch irgendwo no eis, chasch dir selber öppis zämebastle, du installiersch en zuesätzliche Hupchnopf irgendwo oder du machsch es after-market Lenkrad mitemne normale Hupchnopf ine (schweirig, wenn en Airbag häsch).

It worked out in the end, but I still classify it as a fail. As it should not have taken over 5 hours to reassemble.
