- The Frost Giant team has been working hard on Stormgate ahead of its upcoming closed beta test (codenamed Frigate). Game director Tim Campbell shares an early look at some of the new features and content that the team has been working on . . . in addition to the unannounced third faction, campaign missions, and more.

The fact that you are not including naval units but still create framework for modders so that they could use them is a real sign of dedication. Really looking forward to the game's release (or at least next beta)

Lots of love for the Weaver. It's creepy in all the right ways.
No infest on gaunts looks like a big win. Also the capture points is the idea I was hoping to see instead of the past creep camps, love it. Really enjoyed the update and can not wait to test the Frigate build soon!

boosting the editor capabilities beyond the scope of the game is a reason I'll support you guys with money. I LOVE making custom maps!
The capture point concept is really cool. So excited for the next beta!

@@SttravagaNZza It's just that the old creep camps weren't very interesting in my opinion. You're right it's in lots of other games, but I think it's new for melee RTS maps.
@@PuellaMagiHomuraAkemi Luckily my FPS has been good, but for some of my friends it's unplayable. I'm guessing it's a driver issue & will be more optimized when it's closer to launch. Fingers crossed.
Each build has had so many awesome additions. Can't imagine how awesome the game is going to look in the coming years!

I suck at RTS's but still wishlisted this. Because of the old Blizzard campaigns. Which I struggled through but loved.
So many people play RTS just for the campaigns. That's how I am with Age of Empires.

I really like the aspect of capture points. This is great change.
Iam glad that devs are trying new stuff and things. If for example infest didnt really work out as intended or it is very hard to balance they have to fear to just remove it from the game. Thats the flexibility we like to see. Keep the great work guys

I love all these changes except the EXO's voice. I think it could use some work. It's hard to make out what is being said and doesn't sound as great as the other voices and sound effects unveiled in this video.
I agree, but I feel like the voice acting itself is okay. The voice filter is just not clear enough.
Agree!! The other units sound phenomenal, but the EXO's voicelines are very muddled. Excited for the visual change; looks like it's moving in the right direction!
@@abudgie6909 This was my takway as well, they put a little to much distortion on it and if they just make it more similar in that sense to the atlas it will be great

In my opinion, the best part of the style here is the retrofuturistic vibe. It's evident in various designs. For instance, the walking robot or the color palette in some other buildings, which were featured in previous videos. It's cool, I think.

I haven't been excited for any new RTSs lately but this one seems great! Having a whole framework fro modders is awesome! It also looked like some units had veterancy just like the CnC world, which I always enjoyed! This game looks to have so much potential! I'm very excited to see where this game goes!

Thanks for adding 4 players map with radom spawn in 1v1.. That forces each player to scout, which is great instead of just cheesing every game :D

Thank you for giving love to co-op so early on! I only (badly) play this game in co-op. But I do it so I have a general idea of what they’re saying in the esports scene. I love watching pro RTS but I don’t have the time to devote myself to anything in comp
The SFX are fantastic! Super crisp and high quality. Great job!
Looks great I am eager to learn more. I loved play testing the game. I did find the camps very underwhelming in fun aspect and liked Warcraft 3 camps more, but this seems like a step in the right direction. I'm hoping you'll make expansions defended by neutrals so players need to make some units to expand and not just play like SC1 Protoss Nexus first.

I like these different objectives.
We need more maps during the test and tutorial / solo mode to learn.
An 'easy to use' map maker would be great for replayability! The game will last way longer!

Wow! What an update! Great job Tim. I have been very disappointed thus far with the game - and I've been following its development since Frost Giant studio first revealed their office to the world. But I'm always keeping my hope shored that it may become something to rival Starcraft 2. After what I'm seeing here, it may indeed get to where Stormgate is in the conversation of "Best RTS's". Keep going. I'm optimistic again.

Please!! Allow us to removed shadows completely and the particles as well! Allow us to lower the graphics as much as posible in order to be able to play the game even with low end PC of only 6 cores and a 2GB graphic card.. I know nowadays computer are way more powerful, but some of us are still stuck with 10 years old PC and cannot upgrade at the moment.. Removing unnecessary particles would be amazing if we would like to.. Keep up the good work guys! I've been following StormGate since day 1 and can't wait to try the new update :D

@@GamerGrampz Plenty of the voice overs fine and good, but that is not one of them. I had no idea what was said the first time and I have to actively listen for it to hear "waitin' on you".
I heard "meet my gun" the first time, so yea, it's fuzzy enough to be debated over and mle mnew is a solid candidate for what he said.
English isn’t my first language and my English isn’t even good and I didn’t have the slightest trouble to understand it. Seems like a skill problem of yours

The game is beginning to borrow more of the cool skills, features and game mechanics from StarCraft 1 & 2 and WarCraft 3. Awesome! Can't wait to play this in all its glory!

SC2 had quests on the left side of the screen.
It'd be cool if we could make "loadouts" of builds that show up like quests in matchmaking.
I always found it hard to start out when I didn't really remember the steps of my build!

People doubted frost giant but they delivering big and that game isnt even finished it will be the best RTS ever in blizzard style.
Thanks for sharing. I honestly hope you continue to do what you think is best and not listen too much from the hard core RTS 1v1 pros. Time has proven that what they like is niche.
The campaign is the most important on boarding tool and I hope it does not suffer in terms of fun design due to the 1v1 aspect.
We are spending a lot of our focus on Campaign at this time. It's the entryway into our game universe for most players and as fans of storytelling, of critical importance to us.

Current state of the game as I see it:
New sounds - great.
Biological units - could be improved, too smooth.
Mechanical units - resemble children's toys.
Overall level of detail (LOD) - very unbalanced.
Controls - gorgeous! The best RTS controls I've ever seen so far.

The game is really looking good so far. Kind of like Starcraft meets Warcraft III, and I'm totally up for that.

just one thing... i know my opinion isn't worth much, but i would love to see the developers deviate from the starcraft formula in order to inject more creativity into the game's design. don't be afraid of the new ideas and fresh-thinking that gave us SC and WC3 in the first place.
