Nice compilation, Pakistan should avoid importing locos from China, instead should start manufacturing on their own. Secondly most diesel locos can have dual driver cabins. This eliminates the use of turn table completely, which was more useful for steam locomotives in the past. Like Pakistan, India has also imported few Diesel locos from GE, with dual cabin. We have started making dual mode locos, which can used as diesel loco and for electric traction as well. This eliminates the time for changeover of locomotive. Best wishes from India.

A comprehensive and well researched video about Pakistani locomotives. If manufactured in Pakistan, the home maintenance will extend the working life of locomotives. Trains running at 160 km/hr is a pleasant surprise. Here in India, most of the locomotives are electric. Generally 4 types of locomotives are used. WAP engines mean wide guage AC
Passanger, WAG for Goods, WAM for both goods and passanger (M for mix) and lastly WAS for Shunting. Many diesel locomotives are still functional, but coal navigated locomotives are totally stopped. Would love to visit Pakistan some days to experience vibrant development of your country. Lots of love 💕 from India.

He is telling that the maximum speed could be 160km/hour but they’re not actually running the trains at that speed due to various factors like track conditions etc. One other rail fan from Pakistan also told the same thing.
First time a comprehensive brief has been given by somebody. It is a miracle that the engines imported in 70's are still operating inspite of poor management in Railway. Well done.

Pakistani Locomotives remind us of 1970-80's era ...
In THE GREAT INDIA such Engines were separated and canceled long time back ..... Even the models also looks like Toy Trains engine 😂😂😂... And the Magic ..Pakistan don't have any electrical Rail routes neither have any Electrical Locomotives
All such SCRAP's imported by Pakistan 😂🤣.. 2021 era even don't bring any Indigenous Locomotive Factory in Pakistan ..

Excellent production Faheem, as usual a quality presentation, pity there wasn't more English sub titles for your overseas subscribers, also too many adverts ruined the viewing pleasure, so many of them. GMU30 looks like the EMD SD40 series model? Australia has these as the "L" class (1970's). Especially liked the multiple unit operation on the freight. Thank you Faheem. 10/10.

I want to share my side of information and ask some questions as well..
1)as far now gmu30 have done a great job but the locomotives have completed their life completely.... Now a days all the locomotives are restricted to 6th notch permanently... 7th and 8th are non functional in all of the 34 locomotives...so does PR are planning to rehab these locomotive , as they did the same to hgmu30 in the year 2014?? These locomotive can again haul the trains at 120+kmph if done so...
2) as for zcu30 , these locomotives are very fuel efficient, but due to the prime mover failure 22 locomotive are out of work , only 10 locomotives are in Working condition, when the official are gonna start on it ?? As long as they stay in non repairable condition ,it's a loss for PR...
3)age30 one of the best looking locomotive, sounds great, but it's fuel consumption is quiet higher than the other engines...
4) hgmu30 a.k.a the king 👑, the best reliable locomotive , I doubt any modern locomotive would be so reliable at these many years of service....but the only thing missing in this locomotive is dynamic breaking or else it's the best locomotive ever....
5) geu40 a.k.a the big boss.... The heaviest locomotive ever...it can easily pull 50 loaded wagons (3500tons)...and yes it will achieve 160 kmph if gear ratio is changed or traction motor is changed , anyways great video and very informative

There is no plan yet for zcu30 rehabilitation rather AGE30+DPU20/30 (100 locomotive,s) rehabilitation plan is in pipeline and PSDP also approved it, now ECNIC will Review it and than it may proceed

All locomotives were of mixed traffic type instead of this Pak railways should definately go for dedicated Passenger & Goods locomotives so that there efficiency of working get increase. & Also its high time Pak rail should also look for electric trains/locomotives atleast they should think for their major routes to get electrified. Electrification of railway was experimented in Pakistan but as usual theft of conductors and copper wires besides the infrastructure was expensive...was the main issue ...so this was abandoned. I don't know which year but well people and politicians over there are themselves enemies of national assets.

Weren’t GEU40 originally assigned to Lahore loco shed?
Irrespective, Karachi-Lahore passenger segment remains most profitable for Pakistan Railways and it may be the only one where Pakistan Railways maintains an edge over buses and coaches.
All trains between Karachi and Lahore are overnight except Shalimar Express and Pakistan Railways should restore it to its original glory by eliminating all those extra stops and run it directly between the two cities instead of via Faisalabad. That will ensure it reaches Lahore before midnight. If there's market for daytime train for Faisalabad PR should run separate train after Shalimar but not at the expense of travelers to Lahore.
