Most break barrel rifles have what they call "Droop bartels" Which with using standard scope mounts will make elevation difficult to zero in. You want to use a droop mount. It slants the scope downward a bit to compensate for the droop
That makes sense. With long range rifles we use canted mounts, which do the same thing. Thanks for the info!
BSA sweet 22 I have ,3 one on my f4 177 one on my hats on 25 one on my prowler 22 3/9/40 with AO they have done really well with the guns I've probably shot 1500 pellets through each and would never change a thing pellet on pellet at 26 yards I've shot the aluminum arrow shaft at 26 yards with the prowler Right through the shaft consecutively can't ask for more give them a try you will love them God bless
Assuming you have 1/4 moa turrets, you need 48 clicks to move 2" at 15 yards. Each click is 1/4" @ 100 yards, so it would be reduced to 1/8" @ 50 yards and so on. There are online calculators and apps that make it easier.
Correct 1/4 MOA turrets. Thanks for watching!
One good rifle you have yes get a compact scope this rifles are the best accurate and we'll made take good care off it thanks for your video
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!!
Don't use a standard scooe mount. Use a Droop barrel mount. Most Break barrels have what they call "Droop barrels which make elevation a and windage much harder.
The bug buster scope is a wonderful scope have one on my gamo .22 whisper
Thanks for the info. I ended up choosing the BSA 3-9x40 Essential Air Rifle Scope, but I haven't actually installed it yet. If that one doesn't work out, I'll look into the Bug Buster. I appreciate the suggested!!!
@@ChristopherBrusa welcome
@@ChristopherBrusa Chris, how are you doing? Hopefully well. I'm curious about how are you liking the BSA 3-9×40? I picked up a Hawke vantage 3-9×40 and put it on the Diana bandit .22 that I have the stormrider barrell on with the Diana chaser kit stock and I put a 3/8" spacer between the hammer spring and the hammer and it shoots 13.7 g lead pellets @ 933fps. (26 fpe.). And I hit a nickel @ 100yds. ( 7th shot). If you want to see the gun it's on my channel G.Whitfield/youtube. If you check it out let me know what you think. Have a good day!
@@gwhitfield4239 Thanks for checking in. I honestly haven't had time to do any real testing on this setup. I have too many projects going...compound that with it is currently whitetail season in NC, and I have a new daughter being born next week. I'll try to find some time over the next few weeks to post an update. I'm so sorry for the delay!
@@ChristopherBrusa oh wow! Congratulations on the new Baby!!. Hey no hurry just curious, take care of yourself and the family and I'll be back some time to check on it!! Good luck with everything you have going on!!
Hi Chris, Ken in ohio here. i just got a prowler from my cousin, who got it off amazon 2 years ago but never shot it. it has to be refurbished because he paid only $69 plus s&h. i got it for a scant $50. i'd say what muzzle velocity would depend on what pellet you use. other vids claim from 950 fps on down to only 750 fps, the claims appear to be all over the place. the only visible difference between yours and mine is that the, what ill call barrel shroud on yours looks to be nearly the entire length of the barrel, my shroud is only 7 inches at the top of my barrel. i havent yet had the chance to really target practice, but i did fire a few pellets into a big pile of office paper sheets and got an average of 3/4 inch penetration so that tells me it should have plenty enough power to take small game out to 25 yards. the only thing i don't like about it right off the bat is the lack of open sights. id much rather just use open sights for a short range plinker- small game getter. at such short ranges ive found scopes not to be an asset, but rather a detriment. they seem to sort of, get in the way more often or not. i'm looking around for a way to put open sights on my prowler but every time i try to google it it get results that have nothing to do with what i'm looking for. i was hoping to find some kind of snap on open sights for it because i dont wanna go drilling holes, so if you can advise me on such snap on open sights, id be thankful
Thanks for the message, Ken! I agree with you, open sights would be ideal on a rifle like this. Sadly, I am not aware of any one who makes snap on sights or anything like that. However, a red dot sight would be great...I am just not sure what brands can withstand the recoil. It would be easier to mount, you'd just have to find a picatinny rail that fits on the dovetail (looks like amazon has them for $12). Thanks for watching!!!
@@ChristopherBrusa i know add on open sights are made for some other weapons, someone aughta make one and market it.
@@kennethrisner8648 Thanks for the sub! 🙌🏻
Throw the scope away that came with it. Next thing you do is get a $83.00 crosman F4 .177 which is the exact same nitro piston break barrell pellet rifle as the Benjamin prowler.22 and put the .22 action into the F4 stock with a thumb hole stock. Get your self a $28.00 barska air rifle scope or a $34.95 winchester A/O air rifle scope and now you can git-r-done....plus you'll have a. 177 that shoots up to 1200 fps as well as the. 22. Both are capable of doing pest control and small game hunting. Use the heaviest pellet you can find in both calibers for the highest FPE. Happy plinking. Oh yeah, the center point scope on the F4 is ok. You can get it to stay on zero unlike the other one on the prowler..
Thanks so much for the insight! I'll pick up the Barska. I know nothing about air rifles, so I really appreciate it.
@@ChristopherBrusa you're gonna be fine!.. the main thing is that you have fun with them and I can tell you have enough sense to shoot responsibly and mentor others on your future videos. I'm partial to my.177 F4 and Prowler.22 for their accuracy, looks, performance but mostly because of their price. You cant go wrong with either one of them!. If you want to get a good cheap PCP pistol that's the same FPE as the prowler.22 look at the Diana Bandit. Lighter than the looks of it, more powerful than the ads. They call it a 630 fps .22 pcp pistol and it it but it does it with a 21.14 gr. Pellet and that's 19.something FPE..you can pump it easily with a $50.00 hand pump off ebay. You dont need an expensive air pump for a pcp pistol. The bigger 4500 psi rifles are not going to be easily pumped by hand. I'm 200 lbs and I have a G9 pump and 2900 psi is all I want to do....but I am new to the pcp arena and so far I'm enjoying it. You can put a regulator on the Diana bandit and shoot less fps but more shots per fill. I prefer the raw power and fewer shots. I'm popping water balloons at 50 yrds with a winchester a/o 34 dollar scope. Happy shooting!!
Thanks again!
Hi, ,, so you're saying I can buy both rifles and swap the stocks between the two ? Just curious ... I was trying to decide between the two actually. Thanks in advance.
@@masashiro You can swap the .22 and .177 actions between the thumbhole stock without problems. You may need to re-check zero when you do, but the pellet rifle action should fit without any problems.
Yup scope was junk. changed mine out as well for same gun.
What did you change it with? Thanks for watching!
@@ChristopherBrusa Center point 4x16 from walmart for now only because the turret came off so won't use it on high powered rifle lol
Get a barska scope from walmart there 30 bucks and actually hold zero
Thanks! I'll be posting an update soon.
I've got 2 of the barskas and they are probably the best ones I have under $100.00.
I use a walmart 30 dollar Barska on mine with no problem. Nitro piston rifles don't tear up rifle scopes like springers do. Bug buster scope would be better because of Parallax of sighting in short distances. But the Barska is pretty good at that too. too
Lmao self adjusting scope, wouldn't that save and save.
The first 300 hundred shots are always going to be inaccurate on an air rifle. The barrel is going thru a process called dieseling . There is an odor that you can smell when you break the barrel after you shoot. My point is the gun needs to be broken in so your optics will not appear to be operating properly
Thank you for the info. I had no idea. Almost all of my experience is with center-fire rifles. 👍🏻
