    ALDA Delete Instructions: • OM617 Performance Seri...
    ALDA Explanation Correction: The MW Pump's ALDA begins to add fuel at 0.3 BAR, and fully opens by 0.7 BAR. With the 7.5mm pump, you'll have enough fuel at 0.7 BAR for 1.5 BAR's worth of boost. This means you should plan to run a turbo with a wastegate set no lower than 1.5 BAR so you can burn all of the fuel.
    Loctite 542 would be best suited for the fuel filter adapter, but 243 also works.
    This video is LOADED with info! Save yourself the hours of research that it takes to find all this info by watching this 50 minute video. I give insights to the 7.5mm injection pump that I gained from Dieselmeken, themselves.

      I really don't know anything about the 602. You'd be better off contacting dieselmeken.se
      I'm sure the fuel filter setup is different. The 603 & 606 are completely different and my adapter won't work for them. The advantage is longer service intervals and finer filtration. More readily available filters, and cheaper, too. You can also add water separation to the Donaldson.

    What is the best way to drain fluids from the pump? I am rebuilding my OM617 after bearing damage, and although I'm not planning on sending the injection pump to anyone, I don't want any potential metal shavings left in there. Should I just put it on its end and let the fluid drip out?

    if one came up with a way to do it? would there be any value to being able to vary the IP timing (rotate it to/away from block) on the fly? Like is the IP timing position one that is MB recommended as a bit of a happy spot that tends to handle a wide range of conditions (idle to load) where if one could do varying IP under more specific conditions, would such be more advantageous theoretically?
    If the load condition variability not much value..... what about ability to vary for when using different light oils as a fuel on a weekly or so basses. One's that combust at a different pressure/heat point than diesel or the fuel used prior to new fill up?

      No computer, the cars are really cheap to buy as donors right now. Easy to work on. Really simple engine . It’s not a power monster but has good fuel mileage with big tires when compared to a stock gasser. There’s pros and cons to everything though. The valves need to be adjusted every 7k miles. They are fun to tinker on though .

    Sorry for the long post....I am getting ready to adjust the timing on my injection pump. I know to adjust the missing tooth with the notch (or top left bolt) on the ip. My question is, can you turn the ip gear any direction, cw or ccw, to line it up with the notch? And i didnt see you use a locking pin to keep the ip from rotating as you put it in the engine, is it not that critical? I also will try to put the engine at 25 btdc and allow adjustment down to 24 if needed, i am using stock pump with about 150k miles on the engine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Awesome video by the way!

    • @doomsdaydiesel
      @doomsdaydiesel  Před 3 lety

      Set it at 26. You'll be much happier. Drip tool is for those wanting to adjust the pump without removing it. So I've never purchased the pin since a lot of the pumps I adjust don't come off.

    • @williamsnyder7439
      @williamsnyder7439 Před 3 lety

      I had my engine looked at by a diesel shop and they said my timing was at 7 btdc and that i had to take the pump off to correct it. So after the engine is set to where you want it, its as simple as turning the ip gear to line up with the notch (does it matter if you rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise? ) then trying to put the ip in the center of the adjustment area without turning the ip gear? Is there anything else critical to watch out for?

    • @doomsdaydiesel

    • @williamsnyder7439
      @williamsnyder7439 Před 3 lety

      One last question...maybe haha. How does the ip work? Meaning how does it know which cylinder to deliver fuel to. Does a revolution of the ip gear feed a specific cylinder? Can you adjust the ip gear any direction, clockwise or counterclockwise? Can i turn the engine to 26° btdc then remove the ip, align the ip gear properly then reinstall it having kept the engine at 26° ?
