The fake bad acting is what makes it so much more funny.
Racial jokes without being racist is the best kind😭💀 this had me dying 😂
Me too was laughing so hard! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They were making fun of racism which is perfect as it's such a ridiculous mindset
There was something called "Freedom of expression", now, it's taken over by PC and Woke!
Lucy's evil eye towards the organ player is a scream.
That was a mother look. When my mom would look at me like that, I knew what that meant 😅😂😅😂😅
i know i died laughing
Seriously the best soap ever. I wish they gave this an independent show like "Mama's Family" did.
Narrator: Will he be the father of Laura's child?
Laura: 😀
Carol and Lucy both legends. Sad nothing like this will ever exist again. Growing up in the 70s seeing her show on TV and laughing as a family remind me of how special that time was.
Oh how gorgeous is Nancy Wilson!?!? Stunningly!
And that yellow looks fantastic on her. I just Googled her to listen to some of her songs, and I saw that she wore a lot of yellow, surely seeing how great she looked in it.
As The Stomach Turns. My favorite sketch from the show. I am 14 years old and I adore this show. And having Oliver Douglas on this show makes it all the more enjoyable for me.
"I cant see anyone."
"Its a man."
"Open the door."
🤣🤣🤣
Eddie Albert lived to be 99 years old and was a war hero.
"I can't see anyone!"
"It's a man."
"Open the door."
Oh, Lucy, you wonderful talent!!!
I'm a fan of Lucille Ball and Carol Burnette. I love when they act together. They're hilarious together.
What are friends for? 😂😂😂
I was an orphan & a widow at the age of 12. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nancy Wilson had such a lovely voice.
She was the best.!!!!
Surpassed her idol Dinah Washington.!!
"And this is Julia, the town Negro." OMFG!!! 🤣🤣🤣
These are the kind of race jokes that are cool. Not cruel or disgusting or fueled with hate just pure comedy from talented people.
Nancy Wilson was so beautiful 😍
Lady Bug ...She was and is FABULOUS!
Oh is that who she is? ❤️ Beautiful alright.
I didn't know she played on my fav show!! I love love me some Nancy Wison!😳😍
i had an artist friend named lady bug. seeing your youtube name reminded me of her.
I should have known better, when Nancy walked in, I thought it was Gail Fisher.
This is what comedy writing should be. It's funny on multiple levels, and you could never get away with the humor at the end in today's suffocating climate...
Four complete legends on display in all their comedy glory.
Dang. The things they could get away with back then. Almost felt guilty laughing at it. But that black widow joke was totally worth it. 😂😂😂
Great skit. RIP Nancy Wilson.
Thanks, i was wondering who that was.
This is classic Carol! This skit & the commercials were always my faves. So great seeing Lucy & Nancy together although briefly.
I absolutely LOVE this show! It was a bit before my time, (born 1984) but I caught re-runs when I was a kid and my mom told me all about it and now I'm obsessed watching videos and laughing my butt off!!
The social commentary is so surprisingly straightforward. It’s an interesting snippet from that era.
achanwahn Can you imagine the hell Carol would get for this today,People today haven't any concept of fun tv shows.
😊Hi, I’m Brittney Lee Hill :D . Why would it be surprising? maybe you should avoid things from the 2000's then, ey? Until things are quality again. You sound like such an America (circa 2019), haha :D! Everything from the past (1900s or earlier), WAS, an interesting snippet ;) . I really enjoy these uploads! I’m THAT, Millennial ! I’m still living in Orange County, California, within the city of La Habra right now… however, I will, for the last and final time, be moving to the county of Los Angeles, where Hollywood is! I’m moving there by August the 1st of 2019. Yay, me ! I’m literally doing everything by myself right now so I’m proud that I figured out my Destiny. My destiny is to get married to, Thomas John Ellis (the famous, British, method, film, star), become a wife and mother, for the first time, and become a real live Prince and Princess, with him, too. . I’m still middle class and I am social climbing when I move to Los Angeles county. I am going to marry someone wealthy (not Upper Class, but, the wealthiest of the wealthiest). You can join me wherever you see me in person :D ! See you on the big screen :D ! Family. Love. Love. Love. .

@@katespurlding9647 Or irony. The lines are clearly meant to be cutting, not supportive of prejudice. The 'you're a credit to your race' response to that smarmy, patronizing 'compliment' should be a clue.
@@Timmybear She turned around the exact words spoken by Hattie McDaniel when she won an Oscar for Gone With The Wind. It was a very clever jibe at racial attitudes of the time.
OMG Nancy Wilson! So glad I stumbled upon this!
I was also surprised. !!!!!!
Both Cicely Tyson and Nancy Wilson incredibly classy and talented.
This sketch was perfect! The best thing is it isn’t disrespectful AT ALL, it’s pure clean comedy.....ok maybe a lil saucy (looking at you, Lucille) but it’s PERFECT!!!! Keep uploading!
In 2020, the whiny liberals will cry "RACIST"!.
I loved as the stomach turns as a kid. I remember her dropping the baby in the umbrella stand. I don't remember this one but it's fantastic❤
This would be struck down in a minute in 2019.
Sad but true
Bluntly Blondie true
Only because of delicate conservative snowflakes! No one else gives a hearty f*ck.
@MXM 350 And yet, here we are halfway through 2020, and it's still here. Why? Because most of America has more pressing matters than old school comedy.
@@aliyamoon80 I'm conservative, but this was one of the funniest sketches I've ever seen! I love good-natured comedy like the Burnett Show. Wonderful!
Really it should have been called as the stomach Hurts! From all the laughter lol! Pure comedy genius!
OMG! Hilarious,! I love to see beautiful Nancy had a humorous side as well. And seeing the two queens of comedy was a great treatThanks for sharing.
What brought you to Canoga Falls? The bus... Classic!!
I flunked out of the convent...🤣🤣🤣🤣
The widows in these skits remind me of the old ladies I knew growing up,they thrived on drama, stayed on the party line phones gossiping and fighting over old men.
I love this! Amazing to think how close this was in time to the desegregation era. Very much ahead of its time.
two comedy legends and I'm here for it in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. laughter all day everyday!!
It’s a man! Open the door! Love these ladies.
The whole cast, funny as hell.😊😊😆😆rip Tim and Harvey.
Oh my goodness, I had forgotten just how funny TV used to be! 💚
😂😂😂😂
Two of the funniest ladies I've ever seen - Carol and Lucy. Wow!
Did they ever do a movie together? If not they should have. It would have been like Bing and Bob.
OMG LMAO at the black widow remark
the racial jokes had me howling with laughter. "i'm liberal, but i'm not a fanatic." lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's one of the funniest lines in the history of comedy.
Really? You like this one? It took ne a minute ..until" whitey". Lol i never saw this one before.
You couldn’t make some of those jokes today. But they were made with class and she gave the look like she approved because she knew what she was doing

As The Stomach Turns is my favourite Carol Burnett sketch of all time (on par with Carol & Sis). I really hope they upload more on this channel! :)
Stringbean my favorite was and is the family, and the stomach turn take on soaps,tv was entertaining back then.
Marian: “I’ll get it”
Door bell: *ding dong*
Marian: 😕
"A Black widow"....LOL!
" y its a negro". "town negro". Lol! Wow! " u people have made great strides".
"I could have went farther if it weren't for discrimination" ...... crack'n me up!
My favorite line!
Tim Clutter I don’t know if that was meant to be as funny as it was lol it was a backhanded joke towards black people
Actually, it was "I could have gone further if it hadn't been for discrimination." "I could have went farther" is a grammatical car wreck that her character wouldn't utter.
Ron Rossmore what’s wrong is your baby half black?
Yup my favorite line.😁
What a lovely surprise to see Miss Nancy Wilson. R I.P.
She was Beautiful
Indeed!!!!! A big surprise.
She looks fantastic.!!!!!
I wonder how old she was at this time. Glad she accepted Carol's invitation to appear in her show. Proves that she had great humor. She will always be my #1 singer since i was 10 yrs old when her hit came out "Put on a Happy Face". RIP fancy Nancy.!!
I loved how they kept getting grumpy about the organ music drowning them out!
Even though it's all in good humor, some of the people in America today would have a fit over this. But I think this is a great example of making fun of everyone or no one at all. Just like Mel Brooks' comedy, where no one is exempt from having jokes made towards them and their respective group. It's a specific kind of equality.
Hoshi Mori that’s because they’re morons
they did it on purpose to show the racial discrimination minorities faced.
@@julijakeit the modern people don't have the ability to realize that
The only person not looking bad was Nancy Wilson's character. She wasn't made fun of. I keep seeing comments here that seem to misunderstand that the whole sketch was making fun of whites
Giants of comedy. So great to see them work together.
Watching for the first time in 2021, it’s beyond funny, written so smart and sharp, there are no sketches like that today
Wow, I didn't know the Legend and iconic Lucille Ball was a guest in Carol Burnett show this is a history. Two great ladies, legend of comedy show then & now. 💕💞😍😗
She was a guest several times. Carol guest starred on The Lucy Show too! Hilarious!😂😂
Carol guest starred as a librarian roommate who ends up singing. So funny.
Lucy guest stars on Carol's show several times. They do a competing airlines skit, a skit where they have lunch at a nazi bar, (I think), another one is set back in a western saloon, they both sing.
Anyhoot, keep looking for those treasures!😂
One cannot joke like this in PC today... It was funny when done properly and without malice
Making fun of racism is popular in comedy today
Carol Burnett influenced me in so many ways as I was growing up. Even now when there is some drama at work, I will say something like "Ooh another episode of As The Stomach Churns!" and NOBODY has a clue to what I am saying.
It's as the stomach turns
I'm dying every time the music drown them while talking 😆😅🤣😂
I love As the Stomach Turns!
Lol I wish they'd release the entire series
I laughed my rear end off! Especially when Lucy and Carol are together.
Two of the greats . I grew up watching them both. We will never see such greatness again
All booked up? Oh no! What are we to do? No professional mourners. Classic sketch comedy! Priceless, beautiful people. When it comes to Ms. Lucille Ball CZcams is bitter sweet for me. She was such a treasure! No one like her! Folks come and go but Lucille Ball was TOPS. The acting caliber alone in this sketch was incomparable to anything to today. Seinfeld comes close but TCBS stands alone in sketch comedy, live-art performance.
Fun and clean comedy, this times is very hard to find anything that can match this level of professionalism. Bravo!!!!!
So good to see these two legendary comediennes together!!!!🥰😘😘
Laughing until tears are coming out of my eyes. Good clean comedy.
Oh ya I mean 3 great women of comedy lol
...And of course, 'Widow Me'..." HaHa!!!!
Liberty GiveMe I love the look Lucy gave her and that eye roll like, “oh, brother!!!!!”
Lucy & Carol were such good friends. They must have had fun working together.
Lucy had the best comedic timing ever
Not sure what year this was but Lucille Ball would have been 60 yrs old in 1971. She was so gorgeous and her comedic genius was still razor sharp.
2 great women of comedy
So funny! Back when we all laughed and no one was offended.😂
❤ I LOVE LUCY ❤
And Green Acres....
i am major major fan
Always loved this running skit. The main fun running gimmick behind it was spoofing the then-live broadcasted daytime network soap operas where things could go wrong like sound effects or dialogue being ill-timed or actors running up on their lines. Especially loved the later skit instances, when Carol’s “Marion” character became more subtle in her performances, and less hammy and heavy-handed in her delivery. ❤️
Nice to see Lucy and Eddie Albert again. Sadly this type of humor is dead in todays hyper sensitive environment. Thanks for posting. Nancy Wilson was such a classy woman.
“Chester Marfax, what brought you in Kenoga Falls?”
“A bus.” 😂😂
It maybe not new, or was new then, but it never fails to crack me up.
“...and of course you have widow me...”
“...why, a Black widow...”
I died!!
me too LMAO
einsteinboricua the look Lucy gave her and that eye roll was just icing on the cake.
Comedy like this would never see the light of day on TV these days. It's sad what television has devolved into...
That is stupid! There are more shows on TV dealing with race and gender than there were at that time. Open your eyes. Use the remote for your TV.
Making fun of racism is popular in comedy.
It's the first time I've watched this and I was laughing so hard. I am so glad no neighbor complained as I watched it almost midnight.
This is hilarious. I wonder how many people got the "Julia" joke.
I didn't get it.....elaborate please
@@christinadobbs6877 her 1968 TV debut was starring in "Julia", the first series on American television to star a black woman in a nonstereotypical role.
The black actress in this skit was not the lead in the series Julia, a show in the late 60's to early 70's starring Diahann Carroll as a nurse and widowed mother to a young son. He husband was killed in Vietnam. The young woman looks similar but the joke is, the only black person in the town.
Loved "Julia."
@@wildfireintexas it appears to be Nancy Wilson.
I would dare say that this episode would not have made it today. It was harmless , right on point for that time period. Times have changed. Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball are such funny, talented women.
The two funniest women in one room together 💗
Miss Nancy Wilson :)
An unwoke moment in history... when we could laugh at ourselves! 😂
I never could get past the title without cracking up! As The Stomach Turns LOL
Wow. I grew up on the syndicated Carol Burnett & Friends half-hour episodes in the '70s and '80s. Not a single one of those episodes had Lucille Ball. So this is a treat for me to see. Now, I'd seen a few Lucy shows that guest-starred Carol, but I'd never seen them in a sketch together until just now. Thank you for sharing!
this was one of the lost episodes
FWIW, _"My name is Julia."_ gets a laugh as a reference to a popular TV show named "Julia" whose protagonist is an accomplished African American widow. It ran from 1968-1971 and starred Diahann Caroll.
The Carol Burnett Show was a must in our home. It never failed to deliver a laugh with us, and without using the foul language so popular today. What a shame there is nothing like it on TV today.
And Carol and Lucy are brilliant....love Vicki too ❤
It's nice to see Lucille Ball playing a non-Lucy Ricardo type character. It's a shame that audiences wouldn't accept her as anything but, or that she didn't go outside of her comfort zone very often.
1930's Ms.Ball performed on Broadway & began her 15+ years for RKO black & white films i.e. B movies she was cast as secondary lead quite often, A movies she was supporting cast!! Drama, film noir, comedy, musicals, etc. Upon meeting Desi, the opportunity for her to begin a TV show of which they had full control over very quickly...and boom a legend was on every TV in America for a minute, the rest is history. Research her career, fascinating!! Ms.Ball was very respected before I Love Lucy in the stage & film industries;, peers, directors, producers, etc. Her work ethic was highly regarded & Lucille knew by acting a variety of characters she could find her niche ...feel me?! She was not a Jean Harlow, Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard, Katherine Hepburn, etc. But could the lady act, absolutely thus her plan began early in her career. Also, via Desilu Productions she backed TV shows for example "Star Trek" when all other production companies balked at the theme, etc, of what became an iconic series, movies, etc. Her foresight was amazing & to this day few have surpassed. 🎉❤
My two favorite female comedians.
Funniest lady on the entire planet Carol Burnett
Carroll and Lucille Ball, OMG
Mindblowingly awesome... What energy, what talents, OMG... Absolutely amazing...
This honestly makes me heartily miss As the World Turns 😂😂😂

Nobody has a problem with people mentioning race. We have a problem when we are being killed because of the color of our skin. We have a problem when our homes and churned are burned. We have a problem when we are called the "N" word. The "N" word is not negro. You know what it is. We have a problem when we are not hired even if we have experience, skills, and college degrees. Why is that hard to understand?
@@Michelle-pn9xt Wanna bet? I have to dance around somebody's skin color so as to not offend them and be screamed at for not being sensitive, and deal with being called a racist for the color of my skin. It is the same problem with being labeled the 'F' word, but as long as you are not white. I deal with this everyday. I am supposed to feel guilty for being born with white skin and allegedly white privilege. And yes I face prejudice because of the 'F' word and have to live in hiding because of what I am, called names my whole life, and deal with people everyday who would like to take me out in the county beat the crap out of me. Oh well.
