Chicago's voters did the same thing with Lori Lightfoot and Brandon Johnson! We gotta fall to our knees and worship the Black politicians! Same with Obama. This is why I hate White liberals. Even back in the 70's when the Carol Burnett Show was going strong, even back then White liberals had a reputation for being a big bunch of ass kissing, brown nosing phonies who always pretended to champion the causes of other groups and other people, but never able to champion their own causes or protect their own communities. It's really sad. Yesterday's comedy has become today's nightmare.

I was a kid when the Maude show was on TV, and I found the woman character horrible. She was mean, and she thought she knew everything.
As an adult, I know that Hollywood was trying to show women were as powerful as men if they were mean, rude, and hated men. This was their idea of the opposite of submissive and progressive.
It makes me sick to watch people in my town behave like this character in the parody, putting on social media a lineup of icon images to get people to like them from about 10 demographic and minority groups (black fist, rainbow flag, ILY handshape, etc.) Then they meet someone from a minority group that is oppressed and calls them out for something they said that is bigoted or ignorant and that same heroic savior begins destroying that person staring with pointing out their resume of how many other groups they have supported and good deeds done.

There should be a whole separate DVD dedicated to the Burnett show's television and movie spoofs. Most of them were spot on, and very funny. This send-up of "Maude" is great, and----maybe except for a bit more of a Noo Yawk accent than Maude had----Carol does a terrific impersonation of Bea Arthur. It's hard to find talent like this any more.
