OMG, I was in high school and studying for my midterms when this originally aired. My cool Dad said, “Take a little break and watch this with me.” He made me a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows and we laughed our asses off! I have never seen my father laugh so hard in my entire life. Ah, the good old days, I miss you Dad.

Me too,! Donnie and Marie was another really cute show I enjoyed watching. I tried to explain to my sons ages 15 & 13 how TV was when I was growing up.. I couldn't do it justice. Can't wait to see their reaction to my discovery all these old CB shows!

Bob Mackie is an absolute genius when it comes to costumes. Harvey's fairygodmother,Tim's Elfin John not to mention Carol's outfit which channels Cher . The outfits that come out of his imagination are fabulous.

I'm 13 and I'm so glad my parents introduced me to older shows like this. It's clean, it's witty, and It's completely hilarious! and I just adore Tim Conway's acting!
Good for you. My adoptive mother who raised me was 45 years old when I was born. Consequently, I was exposed to a multi-generational gamut of talent from the early 1900s basically and on through the rest of the century. My absolutely favorite decades for literature, music, TV and film are the 60s, 70s, and some of the 80s. Most of the stuff made since the turn of the recent century leaves me cold, although there are rare exceptions. I just don't like the gratuitous profanity and overall video game CGI. I see a decline of the imagination and originality that concerns me for the future of our culture, not to mention a loss of entertainment.

This was a great spoof of the Cinderella story. RIP Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and June Pointer. You are still very much appreciated even now in 2019.
I loved the whole thing with Harvey in that blue frock, but the Pointer Sisters, I was flabbergasted, and they sang so smoothly, OMG, so slim and tall! Suddenly, I remembered we used to say : “Give me 5, on the Black hand side!” ( I know, I know, but it was cool then) But can you dig it? I knew you could!
Nothing but pure talent thank god these shows are preserved.

The greatest part of this show was when they couldn't get through their lines without laughing... Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were notorious for this😂
There’s another, earlier skit on CZcams that had Harvey in drag for a talent show type thing within the skit, and both Carol and Vicki have FULL PERMISSION, within the confines of the skit, to just die at his entrance. Their authentic laughter is everythinggggggggg
From the look on Carol's face, I am not sure if she knew what Harvey was going to look like. This skit brought out the talents of all of the cast. And those behind the scenes.
That's ironic because That's the same reaction she gave when she first saw Harvey as Mother Marcus when she slam the door in his face 😂😂😂😂

Amazing how comfortable everyone seems to be walkin' around on VERY high heeled platforms! Even Tim Conway -- no hint of wobbly ankles or instability!
At the time this hit the airwaves, Elton John was fresh from his Pinball Wizard role in the movie "Tommy" and was the hottrst guy alive. The colors and fashions shown here were right on the money. I remember it all ... becsuse my family and I went to the taping of this show. I was 13.

I looked and looked and finally figured it out,, as I thought it WAS Elton at first,, then the campy,, look up like a child stare, and I knew it was Tim llol
This is what kept us home on Saturday nights. Then we looked forward to Monday so we could recall the fun in school. Carol Burnett has stated that these performances wouldn't be done today because it would be too expensive. Imagine just the costumes, wigs, shoes for the entire cast.The feather boas and trimmings. They all needed salaries including the the staff of designer and the seamsters. This they did each week for each TV season. Wow.

Carol Burnet was broadcasted on CBS on Friday nights, not Saturday nights.
Over the course of the series it started out on Tuesday nights, then moved around until finally its last few years were on Saturday night.
I was thinking this exact thing. The wig budget alone must have been huge.

It wasn't a broadway revival, they were in a touring production that never reached Broadway. It's essentially a jukebox musical, doesn't require much in the way of acting.

It's called "Talent"...it transcends time. I remember actually watching this when it first aired; the only thing that comes close and is relatively recent is the Tracy Ullman Show, but Carol was first, and I think, best. If you want to see more actual sketch comedy, try "Went With The Wind", with the infamous curtain rod dress...

Another skit for the younger generation to check out is when she plays Queen Elizabeth with Harvey Korman as Prince Phillips and a young Maggie Smith as Tim Conway's "girlfriend"

I watched this clip again today (03-30-20) and once again it made me laugh, even though at this time we are all going through an extremely scary period in history. Bless you Carol and Vicki. RIP Harvey, Tim, Lyle and June (Pointer). The seventies now seem like a relatively innocent decade.
Their show was theater-quality every week. Great casting, writing, lots of money to do it right. Thank goodness for networks like MeTV, youtube and other classic TV networks who have introduced new generations of people to what we loved when we were growing up. I didn't fully appreciate just how satirical Green Acres was until I got older.
At the time it didn’t seem so innocent, but we didn’t know what was ahead.
The 70s had Nixon, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, oil shortages, oil shortages, inflation, recession, stagflation, the Iranian Hostage crisis (as well as MANY other high profile acts of terrorism, over 100 plane hijackings in that decade), MUCH higher levels of crime & violence, major air pollution, a truly mind boggling number of serial killers, the Cold War & living under the threat of nuclear annihilation, and shocking levels of child abuse (and molestion), domestic violence, and rape…you may wanna reassess that “truly innocent” comment.
That beginning "I can dig it, I can dig it" with the beautiful sister in pink dancing was absolutely fabulous! Bravo!
Also. I might add, the Bob Mackey designer costumes are gorgeous!

Its chemicals in our food and water. Bc when I go to Sicily I loose weight fast. And 4 months back into the US I'm big again. Trust me , its the food.

Now that is what I call ENTERTAINMENT! This is the first time I've seen this skit. It rocked the house out! I love Carol Burnett but now I have even more love for her and her show after seeing this eye-popping performance. All the characters were played to overdone PERFECTION. I loved Vicki Lawrence's high pitched note, the women of color stole the show and the half dressed male dancer looked like he would one day join a group that would be called The Village People!...Rock Out With Your Songs Out Carol Burnett!
