    Metro made a big mistake by putting only 2 cars on E line and A line yesterday. 2 car train won’t cut it anymore on weekends.

      They might have done that because they increased the train frequency to every 8 minutes as of 12-10-23. Shorter trains but more of them. That's better.

      Metro is running less service frequency than when the Gold line first opened. MTA's operations, both raill line frequencies and train capacities, are often insufficient to attract new riders, or even (like on weekends) to accomodate the riders they currently have. MTA's operations are so bad, that it is one reason that MTA has lost over 500,000 daily riders since 2014, even before MTA found the "Covid" excuse. And worse, MTA is handling less than half of the passengers it did on an all bus system for the 1984 Olympics. MTA needs to start operating these systems correctly (more frequencies and more cars) if they expect it to perform that well in the next Olympics.

      That’s not possible it’s only 4 or 6 cars . Metro stopped putting 6 cars and now it’s 4 cars

      ​@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407 Though I predict tge line will get much more used once the new sections open.
      Since both the B and D line are getting new trainsets, they might add more cars in the near future. The new trainsets will have open gangways too. Very exciting.

      ​@@Volkswagen-of-DeutschlandAll the subway stations have been getting some upgrades like much better lighting. They have more cleaning crews, security guards, and transit ambassadors. And the B line will get new train cars, too.

    The horn on that Purple Line subway train is like the air whistles on the wooden Chicago Aurora and Elgin Interurbans.

      The whistle is to represent the Pacific Electric Red Cars Los Angeles had in the 1950

      @@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407 Definitely!! It's almost like a revival of the Pacific Electric. The Blue Line now known as the "A" Line is definitely like a restoration of the Pacific Electric from Los Angeles to Long Beach CA.

    According to Wikipedia, the D Line extension doesn't open until 2025.

      Well it’s opening next year but late . According to construction workers Metro might open one station only if it’s gets delayed even more

      That would be nice. Also, at some point next year, the new subway trains will start to enter service. I will miss the A650s when they retire. I have literally been riding them my whole life.

      @@AshmewStudios I was mentioning this issue earlier on the comments section. I took the A line blue train from Vernon station to apu/ citrus college in Azusa. It was crowded. 2 car train is not stable anymore.

    The tunnel might be "open" but it isn't completed. You can't take a train down it.
