Chris Froome Sucks Even in Romania's Village Races

  • Chris Froome is still the winner of numerous Tour de France, however, and even though he wants to go to Tour de France 2024 and win stage 11 after Jasper Philipsen's win today over Biniam Girmay, he fails miserably in Romania in a village race won by Florian Lipowitz. How far is the white Kenyan going to go? Gone are the dreams of being able to fight the Tour de France with Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard or Remco Evenepoel...

I think Chris is a valuable member for his team, and does a good job. He's still a notable character in the cycling world, draws a lot of attention, gives autographs, takes selfies with fans, interviews, etc. So from the sponsors' point of view, he's a valuable cyclist. He is also very experienced and probably has a lot of good advice for his younger teammates. I'm sure he motivates them, and makes them enjoy racing along a cycling superstar.
And from Chris' point of view, he gets paid to do what he loves, gets to travel the world and see amazing places, stays fit and healthy, enjoys meeting his fans. I would love to be in his place, and for sure I would NOT retire. Cycling is much more than just a number on a scoreboard.
About the Tour of Sibiu -- is a well organized tour. Held at a city which was at some point declared the European Capital of Culture. It has stages similar to those in the big tours, very high mountains, varied terrain, many breakaway opportunities, lots of fans cheering up the riders from the side, Transfagarasan (one of the most spectacular roads in the world), beautiful scenery at every corner, and a short cobblestone timetrail inside the historical city center. That short timetrial is very very technical, and suited for the very explosive riders with good sprint power.
Chris, simply being on the list of participans in the Tour of Sibiu 2024, made the event much more popular for fans and sponsors. He played a very big role in keeping cycling alive in this city just by showing up and interacting with fans. Thank you Chris!
And you as a cycling channel benefit too from cycling events. The more alive, widespread, and popular the sport is, the better, right?
I wish you all the best! And much love for Chris!
    - a Romanian guy from Sibiu
