- Here's a quick video review of my 2006 Chevrolet Corvette C6 LS2 6spd Manual. This EU-version C6 came standard with the Z51 option and was later upgraded with various factory Grand Sport and Z06 parts, as well as the factory NPP exhaust and Kooks long tube headers.

The C6 is a wonderful car. I had a 6-speed for three years and made some memories in it. The sound of the LS and the driving position which is nearly inline with the fender are among my favorite of any car.
Awesome to read you owned a C6, Mike. Beside driving it, I also love looking at my C6. One of the best sportscar designs ever imho. I can't find a bad angle on it :)

You are one of the best 911 reviewers on CZcams. Such a shock to see you in a C6 Corvette which is widely considered to be a gem here in the US in terms of bang for buck and still modern and fast here in the US. You could get mint condition manual 2005-2007 C6 for around $15k before covid here in Southern California. It's amazing you Germans would pay the premium for the Corvette in Germany since this car is commonly compared to the 911 here.
While affordability played a role in this purchase, I also had a very very long interest in Corvettes. Might share more of a driving review next year, if you guys are interested, but yeah...It is a bargain that is still very much underrated, especially for the driving enjoyment it delivers :-)
@@TheGetawayer It pretty much seals the deal for a Corvette and 911 lover myself. Here the bang for buck on Corvette is even more off the charts vs a 911 which in my opinion is the only real competition. We pay a premium for a 911, we have the Corvette for a STEAL. If you were willing to pay the premium on the Corvette it really says something :)

Too funny...I've been watching your channel for years after I sold my '12 C6 Grand Sport to get a Porsche. It was a lot of car for the money. I hope you continue to do more car reviews.
That's really funny :) I guess for me, it would have to be a 997 GT3 to enjoy the Porsche driving exprience I want. But the big V8 thing is something I got hooked on working at Auto Bild Sportscars, where I drove all C7 versions.
So cool to see you have a corvette! They are so common over here in the US. It's like me seeing a 911, always cool to see but rare.
When I was looking for a C6, there were only 40 cars on sale here. Just to give you a perspective :) Love the car! - Guido

The Corvette has a following here in germany, but nothing like as big as other cars / brands, which I truely enjoy :)

Hi Stefan, ich hab nach meiner 2020er Season entschieden keine Pressewagen mehr anzufragen, um Reviews zu filmen. Der klassische Motorjournalismus, wie ich ihn liebe, stirbt aus. Ich bim froh meine Zeit bei Auto Bild Sportscars gehabt zu haben und nochmal ein Jahr CZcams mit mehr Reviews gemacht zu haben. Jetzt genieße ich meine C6 und bin froh internationaler in einem ganz anderen Thema zu arbeiten😊 Viele Grüße Guido

Most of in the US dislike Chevy for a number of reasons. The one positive I think about it is that it was engineered by a Swiss man.
There is a great doctumentary on the C6 development and testing on germany's autobahns and at their Nürburgring Test Center (which I was lucky to visit). All I can say is that once I drove it, I was hooked. Here is the link to the documentary: czcams.com/video/Pr-fGXBxUwI/video.html

@@TheGetawayer I have been thinking of buying a ZR1 C6 but concerned about the interior finish and plastics, what’s your experience, are the cars full of rattles or even reliable. I am also considering a new Lotus Emira as it’s a interesting hybrid between modern comforts but old analogue driving feel.
My C6 is pre-facelift. I know the quality isn't Audi or Porsche, but it hasn't been an issue for me so far. Glovebox is abit cheap, the rest is fine for me. They got better with the facelift after 2008 and the ZR1 comes with a higher trim too, which includes leather-wrapped dash, I believe. Drive it, test it for yourself and go from there :) The Lotus I cannot comment on. No idea what that is like - Guido
