Boss music ranked, idk it would just be an interesting change of pace and it would be cool to see what you think of some of the L E E P I C boss themes in the Mario RPG games
@@CozyArmadillo128 BiS was the first mario RPG game I ever played, so seeing that as the no.1 spot would be A W E S O M E
@@CozyArmadillo128 k, but do be warned tho, some stuff in the BiS remake is done worse than the origional, like some of the music (debatable), the sound effects used (the hospital scene with Mario and Luigi as an example), and the game even chugs/lags if I remember correctly. Sure the origional has the 3rd giant boss be annoying, but it has some great stuff as well (just consider these factors)
@@CozyArmadillo128 good thinking, the only mario and luigi game I'd say to not get is the origional superstar saga, since the remake does a TON of stuff better than the origional and the origional is on the gameboy, which isn't compatable with the 3DS
My comment might be deleted, I will say it again in the comment section.
Dreamy Mario is so freaking underrated and doesn't get the respect it deserves. The first time through, I didn't think much of it but I can't express enough of how enjoyable it was to play in Hard Mode.
But i think i'm gonna hate the boss fight. This boss doesn't look promising. I mean, i'm not good at these "cup-mixing" games, so, it might be annoying trying to figure out which Dreamy Mario is the real one. And we all know how bad "annoying" bosses are. I can't really imagine another way of you liking the boss besides "i'm good at these games, so the boss is just really entertaning/fun". If you are good at them, i'm gonna be envious of you.
@@rafaelpereiragomes1735 It's not really that bad. It's the first boss in the game and it's one of the easiest mix-up sequences in gaming.
Absolutely agree
@@casual3123 I'm still going to make sure that he is not going to make me bite blankets, because there's stuff that i just am unable to believe in. I mean, Sea Pipe Statue is the 1st boss of BIS, and he's annoying as hell with his attacks, so, Dreamy Mario can be annoying to fight too. Also, Smoldergeist is techinically the 1st boss, not Dreamy Mario, but you CAN consider them a glorified enemy. By the way, they don't look promising either. I might have horrible timing for their attacks. Yeah, i'm far from being one of the best M and LRPG players. I think i said everything.
By the way, i was supposed to send this yesterday, but i wasn't able to.
I love how pissed off Mario looks before the chase attack.
Cackletta's boss fight is WAY better in the GBA version. She has the same number of attacks, but they're much more fast and exciting. Her clones are also nearly impossible to distinguish in the original, so you have a much higher chance of activating her tricky counterattack.
For that matter, the remake is much slower-paced in general and doesn't seem to understand that Superstar Saga's fast pace is a large part of what made it so fun.
Ok that’s fair, I’ve never played the original so I can’t take it into consideration for this list
Ok shroob maybe you should do something that will help your lists out, here you are saying the cackletta fight is bad ON THE 3DS VERSION and you dont check the GBA version
I personally really liked the remake (more than the original in fact) because of it's more slowed pace. The original it's just too short. The battles are hort, the attacks are short, the entire game is short, the exploration is short. But i respect your opinion
At that point you would have Adv. Knockback Bros. which unlike the 3DS version, is never ending which means you can 1-turn every boss except for Cackletta's Soul (who's ability to not lose HP immediately makes a 1 turn win impossible)
@@777Plushy Sure, you "can," but unless you're a TASbot, you can't actually keep it going forever.
Not that one-shotting the bosses is that hard, due to how little HP they have, but if you haven't increased your POW much, they're bound to get a few attacks in.
I personally think partners in time itself is underrated, besides it didn’t get a remake while superstar saga and bowser’s inside story both got one
Well that part is true lol
@@Mr.Bumpty well kirby is dark and it gets remakes all the time
@@jacobg6299 yeah we're getting one next month
@@prosylan6368 aged well
I agree a lot
The problem with Junker is that you fight him in the end game, he would've been perfect mid game (for the context, Mario and Luigi try to enter the fawfulized Peach's Castle, Junker try to stop them and after the fight, Fawful ditches the party back to Toad Town and put the barrier to block the entry)
Yes I agree with that
He s very weak
Tbh there should’ve been a second fight with dreamy Mario somehow. It’d be really cool for him to use the Luiginary attacks, or even their own unique special attacks.
OMG, THAT SOUNDS AMAZING. Maybe it could've been in Bowser's dream like Memory M and L in Bowser's inside story!
Honestly I feel like the most underrated boss is the Sea Pipe Statue from Bowsers inside story.. it’s also my favorite boss in the entire series but it’s just so unique and fun I just can’t ignore it
Cool choice. It’s a good fight that’s how I feel about jojora and friend from superstar saga, which is my fave boss in the series ngl
I love the fight, but more people liked it than I initially thought
I respect your opinion, but how the hell do you like sea pipe statue more than dark bowser?
@@cris3760 Honestly both are great bosses :0 I probably just over exaggerate when it comes to Sea Pipe statue but it’s just a really notable boss when it comes to being underrated. Everyone loves Dark Bowser but no one talks about Sea Pipe statue so that’s why! Bowser’s Inside Story has a ton of actually cool bosses though but Sea Pipe just stands out the most to me :0
@@Spnoge I'm sorry if i sounded angry or something, i was just really surprised because nobody ever says that its favourite boss from a game is the first one!
Top 5 Overrated bosses:
5)Blizzard Midbus:definetely a difficult fight, but come on,his attacks are not THAT difficult to avoid
4)Commander Shroob:now,I didn't notice whether I was overleveled or not,but this fight was so easy
3)Koopalings from Superstar Saga:ah yes, let's just fight the same boss 7 times(let's say 6 because Ludwig is the only one with a brain)
2)Pi'llodium:fun boss, but it was a bit underwhelming once I got to it
1)Morton,Iggy and Lemmy:the only Koopaling fight in Paper Jam where I didn't die or even take damage, and I was also super worried because it looked difficult
Top 5 underrated bosses:
5)Dreamy Mario:the concept is really cool, and for being the 1st Dream Boss it does a great job
4)Sunnycide:really cool boss, sometimes it drags for far too long but still fun
3)Pokey Duo:pretty difficult if you aren't enough skilled
2)Midbus(theatre):this fight gets too overshadowed by the Blizzard version
1)Fawful(Superstar Saga):love this fight,it's simple yet fun and once he emerges is so satisfying to just bash him with everything you have in your arsenal
Good list :D
Finally someone gets their Midbus fight opinions right
Ngl I like this list better than the vid
Superstar saga koopalings overrated? I thought they were the worst bosses in SS by quite a bit
I disagree with the number 1 and 5 overrated but definitely agree with numbers 3 and 4.
Yes, Bowser the Beyblade is annoying to control, but the whole reason people hate dimensional travel is because of how hard it is to precisely dodge attacks. Here, you are dodging the lava while trying to hit Bowser. That is 2 things to keep up with while dimensional shots from the Zeekeeper can number up to 5. Maybe not the best reasoning, but certainly seems like a reason
more roast on kretin: an earlier boss has 3 attacks and it’s an enlarged normal enemy, the scutlet
some cooling water for kretin: his fight is two puzzles that are done twice in the fight and that’s the main challenge
To be fair, Giant Bowser is great until the beyblade section. Especially the first time I reached it I was in a bumpy car ride...
Omg good luck even being able to not purposely go into the lave 🤣
In my opinion, both Zeekeeper and Giant Bowser are not fun, the beyblade part for him was fine, I just wasn't that good at the Fire Breath. The Zeekeeper's motion control attack can go die in the fires of hell, it took me 2 months to beat him on hard mode.
No the entire boss fight is a piece of crap, whoever designed it should be fired
@@zakwilson2606 the Flame Breath? That was the easiest attack for me. Heck, I found most of the attacks easy enough. I could constantly dodge the Bowser shoulder bash.
The Zeekeeper literally was a roadblock for me in hard mode. I spent the entire day constantly losing until his attacks were basically muscle memory for me and I finally beat him. Giant Bowser was still pretty hard but I beat him the 2nd or 3rd try.
Popper and rookie are loved because of how charming they are as a duo and they are fun side villains
For me Junker was a hard battle becuase I HATE the falling star attack and had to use something else and I struggled on the Junker Boss battle becuase of me not using the falling star becuase of the fact I hated it. Also after the battle I went and got the Magic Window and I used the magic window and was doing more damege then people using the falling star were doing while I was just using the magic window becuase I got really good with the timing on it and was able to always destroy two of Fawful's leg and his glasses on one turn then I just did a snack basket then Magic Window to defeat Fawful on the next turn after dodging one more attack.
Ye that makes sense
I know I’m really late but junker was a hard boss for me to I didn’t even have falling star or magic for the fight
I honestly ADORE Dreamy Mario's concept so much. He's such a wonderful play on Dreamy Luigi's existence and the way he uses his 'Marionoids' is probably the most creative rendition of the "Dream World boss summons a bunch of minions" trope that gets used a lot. I find myself sometimes wondering how much more fun he would be if he was a bit later in the game (maybe Dream's Deep for instance) with more attacks, but he's still a /really/ good early boss.
As for Giant Bowser... I dunno if this is a thing people pick up on, but in the gyro-control segments you're supposed to hold the DS completely flat, and the icons in-game clearly show this. But it's so unintuitive to do it that I wouldn't be surprised if most of people's issues with the gyro controls against the Zeekeeper and Bowser would be fixed just by opening up their DS by that last little tick.
Bro commented Mario and Luigi’s dreamy Mario bible
I think dreamy Mario is an underrated boss it’s really fun and challenging and I love it
We shall see if that boss made the list or not :()
@@ShroobInvader it probably is cos of the thumbnail
I don't think it is challenging, but it was pretty fun. I definitely see it being underlooked because it is in between Grobot and Smoldergeist where all the boring tutorials take place.
we have the same opinion
1:49 I have never seen Cackletta do that attack.
Shows how easy the fight is lol
Count how many times Shroob said "disappointing" in this video.
I’ll take a shot after each one :F
Dude, the most underrated boss of all is your channel, the editing is so good! And you actually managed to slightly change my mind abt the junker and popple fights! Such a good channel
NO I DONT WANNA CHANGE YOUR MIND ON ANYTHING 🤣, but thank you I appreciate it :D
@@ShroobInvader oh ok well this is still good content that I enjoyed
15:08 I mean hey you got to admit Bowser Junior has some of the best fights in the entire Mario series
Thinking about it, that’s very true lol
Regarding the cackletta fight, it was the first fight with more than 2 attacks, so it was kinda "amazing" then played first time and the idea of conjure holes was kinda unique at the time. (I also played the GBA version only, which is much faster)
regarding Junker, it was the first time in the game I actually struggled with a Boss Fight. Reminded me of the good old times in PiT, very loooong Boss fights. Yeh it took me a while to defeat Junker.
Underrated no 1: the channel "Shroob Invader". This channel is an extremely great channel especially if you enjoy Mario RPG games. Not many people are as good at debating as "Shroob Invader" especially when it comes to Mario RPG games. Not many people even know this CZcamsr exists, and I'm sure "Shroob Invader" understands, but for us that do know you exist, we're supporting you. We also understand that most people don't enjoy Mario RPGs as we do, but for the channels that also enjoy RPG Mario games too, we support them too, for taking time out their day to entertain us. That concludes why "Shroob Invader" is the most underrated Mario RPG CZcamsr.
Thanks man I appreciate it 🤣
Little late to the party with commenting, but I think a cool way they could have made Junker more unique and difficult is so any attacks from above wouldn't affect him. And how he could do this is by hiding away closing his lid just like his minions, making it a fun way to improvise with not being able to use your strongest option of attacking.
That, is a great idea! Immunities in a boss fight make it more restrictive for what to do, and that is a great way to do it. Hopefully also buff his HP a little bit by maybe 200 health, but other than that, great ide
Trivia.
Dreamy Mario's Russian name is Марио-баюн, which is Mario followed by a lullaby expression, basically meaning Mario-gotosleep.
And that is technically what is going to happen even if we win or lose the fight :D
Wow I took so long getting the next Flat mates out that now I might as well not bother censoring the bit where you mention this video lol
hmmmmmmmmmm...yeah probably lol
I’m pretty sure the bowser motion control argument can be made because it’s 1 part near the end of the fight.
Well if it does bother me that much then it is something to point out, I think I’ll admit though, I really need to replay Dream Team, I haven’t played it in so long and I want to see how my opinion has changed
I think the reason people hated the gyro control in the zeekeeper fight but not the giant bowser fight is 4 reasons
1. The players got used to the gyro control after attempts at the zeekeeper fight
2. You have way more space to move around in the giant bowser fight than the zeekeeper fight
3. There are basically no projectiles besides bowser being thrown at you in the giant bowser fight unlike with the zeekeeper fight
4. You don't have to go back doing the beyblade phase again after finishing it in the giant bowser fight unlike with the zeekeeper fight where you had to go back there a 2nd or 3rd time
"Please don't call me a nerd" -🤓
My personal underrated is Bowser and Antasma from Dream Team. It's real cool how Bowser keeps his overworld moves from the previous game and applies them in combat.
Junker with challenge medal is unironically a nightmare but in a good way
He steals Luigi like every other turn but since everything is stronger, the Junker Cans will start trading him before you can kill one and the Thwomp attack is a OHKO unless you’re overleveled and if Mario dies then so does Luigi
My personal issue with zeekeeper honestly is just how tiring dragging the stylus down is because it kills my arm. Dragging the stylus up feels slightly more natural.
Oh yeah I died like thrice to Junker.... Somehow... I was definitely underleveled throughout the entire game but the attacks didn't really spark joy. Yeah the boss is mediocre.
I liked Swiggler alot, especially since I dislike Sunnycide for requiring me to destroy the eggs in order to do any meaningful damage.
The Zeekeeper hurting your arm….never heard that before, but if it hurt mine I definitely wouldn’t like the fight so fair enough, junker that’s a little sad but if your underleveled you can’t really fight it, and Swiggler is a great boss I agree :D
The thing I like about cretin is the design and the fact you have to hit each segment with specifically Mario or Luigi. From what I can remember I don’t think there was a boss that made you attack with specific characters. I could easily be wrong tho.
Great criteria, always good explaining things like beforehand. I accept your opinion, always Nice to hear someone elses view!!
The Giant Bowser fight Beyblade part isn't hated that much because its short and it either controls fine or a nightmare because IT KEEPS PULLING ME INTO THE DAMN LAVA, but with the Zeekeeper it happens often and the attack is a lot longer because with Bowser you can still get lucky if Bowser goes for you and falls in and manage to stay on for long enough. Speaking of which F*** THE ZEEKEEPER FIGHT
My older brother played Dream Team and struggled with the gyro controls with the Zeekeeper
The Zeekeeper fight I dislike not only because the tilt controls break, but I also dislike the chase gimmick along with the tilt controls since you mostly always have to heal after it. In hard mode, the Zeekeeper 's tilt controls were SO BAD, that even though I played through the game like 3 times before, I was actually STUCK on it, and it was very frustrating. Your argument on Giant Bowser doesn't work as well because you have to go back to the Zeekeeper phase MORE THAN ONCE. Also it's easier to get the motion controls unstuck for Bowser, I was still constantly stuck in the corner for the Zeekeeper and then I take a bunch of damage or just die.
If dark star core is here, there will be hell to pay
Oh absolutely not
That list was amazing and unexpected. Overall nice list and amazing video like always
Thanks I appreciate it :D
Its just werid how junker only sucks up luigi because in the original he went for both mario and luigi but in the remake he never goes for mario
That’s very true
@@ShroobInvader yeah also werid how dark star x colour was changed to red to yellow he also looks bigger even before he goes down
My theory on why people don't let the gyro controls in Giant Bowser influence their opinion too much is because of the story stakes. This is Luigi in his most powerful form squaring off against Bowser at one of his strongest forms (if we were to exclude Dreamy Bowser, which was kind of a deus-ex machina, if we're being honest). If Luigi were to go down here, Mario would go down right with him, and Bowser and Antasma would win. People love high-stakes boss fight. Whereas a lot of people tended to already have a negative opinion on the Zeekeeper from a storytelling perspective because the Zeekeeper is kind of an aloof asshat. Therefore, the opinion of the Giant Bowser fight, from a storytelling perspective, is much higher than that of the Zeekeeper, so even if someone were to dislike the gyro controls from the Giant Bowser fight, their opinion would be high enough to where they would still like the fight, whereas people who were "eh" on the Zeekeeper would probably be influenced if they do not like the gyro controls, leading to their opinion of the fight being dropped, even to a point where they consider it bad. But hey, that's just what I theorize.
No that makes sense, the epicness is something that many people bring up and as someone who has played these games multiple times, I just don't get as invested
@@ShroobInvader Understandably so. It really depends on if you value story or gameplay more.
In terms of the other fights:
#5 Overrated: Again, a lot of this does seem to be high-stakes story fights. If Cackletta triumphs over Mario & Luigi here, Cackletta (and to an overarching extent, Fawful) have no opposition to their plans, so it gives the players a sense of urgency to defeat Cackletta at Woohoo Hooniversity when they have the chance.
#5 Underrated: I think the reason why people don't talk too much about Hoohooros is that they tend to think that it's a good early boss, but they wish it went a bit further with it's concept. Kind of a lame reason, but it's what I've observed (I'm skipping #4 overrated since I already touched on it, so...)
#4 Underrated: This one is similar to Hoohooros, but even more so since you're fighting a dark version of yourself as opposed to a sage-like boss. Therefore, the boss might fail to meet some expectations, especially after the popular reception of Dark Bowser from the previous game.
#3 Overrated: ... Yeah Imma be honest, I got nothing. Not only is this fight quite easy (although I did struggle with Junker's attacks since Falling Star got nerfed on the 3DS I'm sure, or I suck at video games, either way), it comes right the hell out of nowhere. Literally Midbus just flies in on Fawful's hoverpad and summons a Rotom-like trash can to try and beat the crap out of you.
#3 Underrated: A lot of people HATE the Fawful Express because of how annoying the fight was on the DS version of Bowser's Inside Story. Having known someone with lower lung capacity who was playing this game, it was a complete pain in the ass for them to beat the boss, as they kept dying because they weren't doing enough damage with Bowser's fire breath in the D.S. version. Plus, she didn't want to play the 3DS version since she doesn't have a 3DS and thinks the 3DS version moves too slowly.
#2 Overrated: This fight is overrated? Honestly, I don't really see too many people talk about it beyond it's concept. I would have to agree with you, but I don't know if it's nearly as loved as a fight like Giant Bowser from Dream Team. But hey, that's just me.
#2 Underrated: Yeah, I would have to agree. A lot of this can be attributed to Paper Jam being a forgettable game (although I have to put it above Dream Team for not being the slowest video game in existence lol), so people tend to gloss over this boss fight. Although I will say that some people get annoyed with Bowser Jr. healing Paper Bowser Jr. and vice-versa, which might make their opinions a bit lower.
#1 Overrated: A lot of the reasons why people like Popple & Rookie (particularly the older fans) is because of the concept of the fight. Because the whole concept of Superstar Saga was controlling two characters at the same time with timed button inputs mixed with a more traditional RPG format, the fact that there are boss fights in this game that take the concept and pit it against you is something many people playing the game find brilliant, even if they find it easy. This gets expanded upon even more in the second fight, where they use Bros. Attacks, like you do. That's how I see people receiving Popple & Rookie.
#1 Underrated: Yeah, I absolutely agree. Many people in the Mario & Luigi fandom know that there has to be some sort of Wiggler boss in every Mario & Luigi game, but the take that Partners in Time has on this is incredible. Not to mention it fits the incredible laboratory atmosphere that has a mutated beast in the end made by crazy mad scientists, kinda like Frankenstein, but for kids.
The gyro controls are also worse in the Zeekeeper fight because it’s an attack he does frequently while the Bowser one is only at the very end.
@@raindropzinthesky And to further explain why Popple & Rookie are well-liked by the majority of people that play Mario RPG's is because, of their theme which I think is epic
But, then again... my least favorite boss is still the Kamek Duo in any Mario RPG (yes that includes the bosses from the Paper Mario series)
My top 5:
Overrated
5) Midbus (bowser’s castle)
4) Wisdurm
3) Bowser memory M and L
2) Pi’illodium
1) Popple and Rookie
Underrated
5) Swiggler
4) Fawful Express
3) Koopalings (superstar saga)
2) Popple and Wiggler
1) Chargin Chucks
Good list :D
Haven't played any of these games in a long time, but I've never had issues with the motion controls for the beyblade section. If anything, it's the steering controls on that last finisher, and I have less issue with that than Zeekeeper's gyro control attack, which I'm pretty sure he can bust out more than once per fight whereas the Bowser finisher is once only so long as you don't fail. It's not a case of giving Bowser a pass. It's a case of his instances of motion controls just not being an issue for me compared to Zeekeeper's. And this is coming from someone that doesn't dislike the Zeekeeper fight or even his rematch.
People are complaining about the Beyblade part of Giant Bowser that hard? I thought the attack where you have to lift up Bowser’s foot or failing to dodge the fireballs and have to that phase all over again would have take the cake of being able the reason of hating that fight.
Well I also hate that part but people not hating the bay blade section but hating the Zeekeeper was the confusing thing to me
Its gonna be great as usual shroob and thats a fact
Oh you know it :D
Finally Shroob will post a video, after this I see you guys in the next Shroob's video, after 3 months
LOL IM TRYING OK
@@ShroobInvader I'm just kidding 🤣
Totally agree with Cackeletta being overrated.
Me when fighting Cackeletta: "I'm not mad, I'm just... Disappointed."
Exactly how I feel lol
Ok, i'm making this comment separately, not in my "base" comment, in the hopes of you reading it. In my opinion, your PMSS Mini Bosses ranking video is the best of your PMSS videos. It's very entertaning. Usually, i entertain myself with the comments i make in these videos,(and in the 1st 2, with the literal 1st few seconds of them) but a video actually being entertaning in itself, that's excellent.(like the "Why PinT's Bros attack system dosen't suck" video.) Sorry again for this being not related to the video. I am unable to help myself.
Lol even if I have watched your videos and played Dream Team twice(normal and hard mode) i always forget about Dreamy Mario xd its so sad because is such a cool concept.
Exactly which is why I’m so glad I remember it now :D
I hate the zeekeeper giant battle because for me the motion controls just sometimes didn't work leaving me with like 10 to 15 minutes later. The Bowser battle never gave me problems
That is so weird
I am terrible at the falling star action command and thus never do it and thus, yes, I did get to actually battle junker... until I got good at magic door and that is arguably more broken
Merry Christmas Shroob! Also, why is this coming out on the 27th?
Idk I just felt like it tbh lol, also it’s on the day that I want to upload every week being monday
Ok then, that makes sense
How is swiggler an underrated boss i like it so much, it's the 1st big boss in the game
Eh I feel like the concept isn’t talked about enough, and it would have been sunnycide but a lot of people actually like that fight a lot so
Popple fights are loved because of the concept of them and how fun they are to fight and his theme do I need to say anything else about his theme
I thought the theme was ok but nothing special ☠️
@@ShroobInvader are ya kiddin
I might make a new Mario and Luigi game with AlphaDream with me as a new hero in it called Mario and Luigi: Elemental Bonds!
LOL
@@ShroobInvader it might be a good addition to the series lol XD
I know I already commented, but this is my personal list (no particular order for either list):
#5 Overrated- L33T HAMM3R BR0Z: Honestly I feel like a lot of people like them due to L33T speak. And yeah, I do like their way of speaking, but they don't contribute all that much to the big story of Partners in Time outside of teaching you to use the hammer.
#5 Underrated- Chuckolator: The fact that it's basically Arnold Schwarzenegger in Super Mario is freaking awesome, but his attacks are pretty original. They're not too difficult, but I like the personality and design of this boss.
#4 Overrated- Petey Piranha (PiT): I mean.., it's cool they we fight Petey Piranha in Mario & Luigi, but it tends to use the same attacks over and over again.
#4 Underrated- Chargin' Chuck Corps: The fact that it's a large series of bosses is a pretty cool concept, and it can be downright tough if you don't use the Cannonball Chuck like I did in my Paper Jam Nuzlocke.
#3 Overrated- Bowser memory M&L (Both Versions): I do enjoy the concept a lot, I really do. But it's not enough for me to overlook how annoying it was to take down the X Versions of these annoying jackasses, and it was even slightly irritating to take down the regular versions.
#3 Underrated- Bowser's Castle: For a tutorial fight, it's not too bad. You're fighting a fucking castle. For this point in the story (before Super Peach's Castle came along), it's freaking cool.
#2 Overrated- Shroobs (Bowser's Inside Story): LAME. I mean, it's cool we get to fight them again, but they're not even mandatory and they only use like, one or two attacks at most.
#2 Underrated- Shiny RoboBowser: This is, by far, the most underrated final boss of all time. People don't give Paper Jam enough of a chance, but my god, have you heard Yoko Shimomura's magic in this fight? The attacks are tough, the background is incredible, and the stakes are through the roof.
#1 Overrated- Commander Shroob- I do like this fight, but man, can it get annoying if you don't know what you're doing. Because I wasn't used to playing Partners in Time, it was a colossal pain in the butt to figure out the best way to beat this thing. I still have trouble.
#1 Underrated- Dark Fawful- I love this fight because of the buildup. After this little weasel tricked you in the beginning of the story, Bowser has been chasing this thing all around the kingdom and has finally cornered it. After almost being squashed by a castle, beaten up by a buff warthog, and having to be stuck in a cramped box for several hours, you finally get your chance to wail on Fawful. And the attacks are difficult, making your final defeat of him even more satisfying. Not only that, this showdown does do a good job building up to the final boss, since if this fight was difficult, it sends the impression that "Shit's gonna go down in the final boss and it's gonna be ugly".
Good list and your good lol
In defense of each and every entrant on the overrated list:
-Even if Cackletta doesn't have that many attacks in hindsight, what attacks she does have are pretty cool and fairly tough to dodge, and between those, the special music, and the 2nd phase, it does make for a fairly climactic fight. Also, you have to keep in mind that it's a mid-game boss, so of course it's not gonna be final boss levels of climactic. Also, her cloning move was made easier in the 3DS version.
-In defense of the "beyblade" phase, it does give the player a lot more leeway than the Zeekeeper's dimension attack, and it only happens once in the entire battle. If anything, the surprise second phase where Bowser turns even bigger is what _really_ gave me trouble in that fight.
-Keep in mind that the 3DS version is made much easier than the original DS version so Junker may put up a better fight in that version, and regardless of version, while the original Junker may not stand a chance against Falling Star, the X version certainly does. Regardless, I think you were too harsh on this one because you judged it based on an overpowered attack at the bros' disposal rather than the fight itself, which in my opinion, is pretty competent.
-Alpha/Beta Kretin is actually one of my favorite bosses in the game, because not only is the gimmick extremely innovative, but while I do admit he does have limited attacks, the two he does have are also innovative. Also, I don't know about the 3DS version, but the DS version at the very least never felt like it dragged at all.
-I admit, the 3rd and 4th Popple fights are definitely better, but the first two aren't that bad either, not the best but, aside from Bowser (Rookie) countering each time you attack Popple, it's still not bad. Honestly, it's Popple's special boss theme that makes me keep coming back to those fights.
In the original Ds version, Junker was annoying
NOT READING ALLAT
Fawful Express I strangely beat on my first try and I failed with the mic, and got hit by almost every attack and I didn't heal because you basically can't heal because theres basically a turn limit. So Idk
I think swiggler is that forgotten because is the only major boss in the game that isn't a pain in the ass, because I think partner in time is the game with harder bosses in the series, making me lose at least 1 time in the mayority of bosses, with the exception of kamek, swiggler and the bosses before it, making it less memorable than the others
The bosses have to compensate for the overpowered Bros attacks so if you don’t fight every enemy in an area your gonna be in trouble
In my opinion, the Shroob bowser final boss in Mario partners in time is underrated
It would've been alright if it wasn't the final boss.
Missed the premiere, so to compensate, I'll pick my overrated and underrated for both M&L AND Paper Mario.
Overrated:
64: Crystal King, cool design, can't remember anything else.
SS(DX): Popple and Rookie 2, literally just the same fight as the first one, but with one extra attack.
TTYD: The SNORE that is Grodus
PiT: Double Bowsers I guess? I don't have problems with this one, its just that I think it has a bit off too much more praise than the other fights.
Super: Haven't finished yet, sorry.
BIS: Dark Star, it was hard to choose for this one, so this could be inaccurate.
SS, PJ, CS: These have overrated boss fights?
DT: Elite Trio, I like this fight, but it gets a TAD too much praise
OK: Rubber Band I guess, again, I like all the Origami King fights, so I just picked the one I think is slightly overrated compared to the others again.
Underrated:
64: Huff n Puff, inverse of Crystal King
SS(DX): Popple and Birdo, Popple has more attacks, and a better team move with Birdo.
TTYD: Bowser, the suprise factor in both of his fights helps this choice, and coming directly after Grodus made the latter worth anything.
PiT: Swiggler and Sunnycide: Cool concepts, cool executions.
BIS: Junker X, optional bosses count, and Junker X fixes all of the problems with the base version.
SS and CS: Final Junior and Ludwig respectively, using specific items THAT YOU CAN HAVE DUPES OF, make them stand out in a good way.
DT: Popple and Wiggler, makes the Wiggler fight actually unique and stand out.
PJ: Papercraft Bowser, I dunno, I think the fireball projectile makes me like this one.
OK: Tape, this fight seems to be a bit less liked than the other ones, which I disagree on.
Oh dang the ambition o-o, good choices tho :D
I'm sorry for this comment of mine being unrelated to this video. This comment was sent in your M and L PinT Area Ranking Remake/new video, but i don't think you read it. So, i'm remaking it here, in the hopes that you read it. Here we go.
My favorite areas of PinT have to be Thwomp Caverns and Star Hill. Star Hill, because i really like the music, it's literally the only music of the game that i like, let alone love, and Thwomp Caverns because of the Adult Bros Ball Gem Minigame, because you can farm beans to get the God-like Ulti-Free Badge for all of the 4 characters. Honestly, in my opinion, these areas are pretty straight-forward(i don't remember how you write that). They usually are a hit because of the enemies, and they usually fail because of puzzles and minigames. And the bosses, in my opinion, are better than avarage, but i can't point out that one boss is better than another, just like in SSS.
Here it is. Yeah, i'm sorry for not watching your channel in a long time, so this is my punishment for that. And now i'm trying to make up for it. Are you going to make this list for the PM games, too? Probably not. I know that you make your videos based on polls and stuff, not on comments. So you might never make the list for PM.(🤔)
Good picks :D
My opinions on all of the fights you went over:
Cackletta: Like you said, people only like this fight because it's Cackletta. I never saw the attack you showed at 1:20 before watching this video and I heard that someone beat the fight in one turn while underleveled.
Hoohooros: It has an actually interesting concept for a boss this early.
Giant Bowser: Yeah this boss sucks! Another commenter made a good point that people only like this fight because its story significance compared to the Zeekeeper. I even hear some people claim that everyone that dislikes this fight is bad at the game, and even if they are, can you blame them when this is only your 5th time battling in this abnormal format?
Dreamy Mario: Honestly, I prefer this fight earlier in the game when you don't have Luiginary Attacks to destroy the clones easily, which would ruin the fun concept.
Junker: I never used that Bros Attack so I enjoyed the fight, but I will admit that it's the worst boss fight in Peach's Castle.
Fawful Express: Thank goodness for the 3DS version.
Kretin: I enjoyed the fight, but still 2 attacks is really lame.
Bowser Jr. Duo: I really hate it when people disregard everything about Paper Jam for being Paper Jam, and this fight is one of the best examples of that.
Popple and Rookie: Unpopular opinion, I prefer fighting Popple on his own and with Birdo to with Rookie. One Bros Attack feels like Popple doesn't need to be there, the other feels like Rookie doesn't need to be there, and all of their other attacks are lame. When Popple fights with Birdo, they actually have some attacks that can only be done with two or more people.
Swiggler: Partners in Time bosses are rage fuel, that's all I'm gonna say.
Good explanations :D
@@ShroobInvader Thanks.
Anyone that says you are bad at the game because you find giant bowser hard Is an idiot lol. Now, dream team is my favourite Mario and Luigi game, it’s my most replayed M&L game and I still find the boss hard because the gyro controls just say no sometimes. Incredibly annoying fight.
Edit: I also agree with your last point. It took me seven years to beat elder princess shroob
@@avocadeous Yeah, the gyro controls suck, and it's infuriating to be called bad at the game becuse Giant Bowser is only the 5th battle and you spend the rest of the game in a more fun combat system. Also, it took me forever to beat Elder Princess Shroob.
Heres my list
Underrated
5 blooper statue
4 shriggler
3 mid bus round 2
2 Peter piranha pit
1 tower of yik
Over rated
5 fawful Express
4 super princess peach castle
3 wisdurm
2 young princess shroob (dont hurt me )
1 commander shroob and shroob bombs
Good lists :D
When fighting Alpha Kretin X I learned Bros Attacks work on him like if its say Luigis turn and you need to destroy green orbs or whatever theyre called a bros attack works on him even though mario is involved with the attack so that just pissed me off
Even though the only Bros attack that spreads around at that point is the fire flower
Oh that makes the boss fight even worse
@@ShroobInvader ehh i mean its not bad just tedious but the fight is fffffffff fine the attacks are fun at least and fighting him isnt frustrating so its fine
Shroob, what do you think about making the top 5 most overrated and underrated Areas in every Mario RPG series???
That would be much harder, and this one was already hard lol
@@ShroobInvader OK, but do you think it would be a good idea???
What editing app do you use. me iMovie
Same here
Shrowser is definitely the most underrated Mario and Luigi boss!
Nah, I don’t actually like the fight lol, I don’t hate it, but it does feel a bit unnecessary and underwhelming
I see people that don’t even count shrowser as a boss lol. Just more of a minigame
@@ShroobInvader Oh yeah I agree, I don't even know why they included him in the game I was just kidding lol
Merry Christmas Shroob :)
Thanks :D
Here is my list of Mario and Luigi bosses underrated to overrated
Superstar saga Hermie III (underrated), Cackletta soul (overrated).
Partners in time Elder princess shroob (underrated), Petey piranha (overrated).
Bowsers inside story Dark Fawful (underrated), Dark bowser (overrated).
Dream team
Antasma (underrated), Giant bowser(overrated).
Paper jam
Bowser junior duo (underrated), Paper kamek and kamek (overrated).
Good list :F
@@ShroobInvader thanks
Good list! Totally agree with Bowser Jr duo, as well
go rank the unavoidable enemy encounters in m&l games please
no bosses but normal enemies
maybe those of the paper Mario series too
I was just playing partners in time, and I fought elder princess shroob for the first time, and not to brag... but I SOMEHOW got the timehole attack.
why can't I be that lucky playing other games
Impressive honestly, it’s insanely hard to dodge tho lol
Watching this really makes me want this series to be on the Switch. Anyone?
I would but also, there is only 1 screen for the switch while most of these games have 2 so that might be kinda hard
@@ShroobInvader They did it for the GBA version of Superstar Saga. They don't necessarily have to be dual screens. I'm sure the developers would figure something out...IF they want to continue with the franchise since AlphaDream went bankrupt...😔
I see SunnyCide, I see underrated, I click
O_O, well it’s actually not that underrated from what I’ve seen, even though it is a great boss
Great video as for some I find underrated: shrooboid brat or commander shroob and my fave boss jojora and friend, also wisdurm. I feel that people think these are solid fights but they don’t get discussed much from what I’ve seen.
An overrated one would be giant bowser for example I do agree with that
good picks
@@ShroobInvader thanks 😊 I was also not expecting number one for underrated good pick forgot to say elite trio is also overrated imo
To Giant Bowser:
I hate Gyro Controls in General! If I could turn them off, I would do it without having a second thought!
My Lists,
Overrated
5. Giant Bowser (Dream Team)
Hot Take… I actually don’t like hard mode in Dream Team. And Giant Bowser is one of the biggest reasons why. A super lengthy fight, almost impossible to deal with, and well, having to do all of this multiple times zapped everything good about it because it’s a dope fight.
4. Bowser Jr. Duo (Paper Jam)
Another good fight with creative attacks, but it takes about as long as a Partners in Time boss.
3. Hoohooros (Superstar Saga)
All you do is jump, use bros attacks, and break pillars… Excitement
2. Scutlet (Bowser’s Inside Story)
First boss syndrome… need I say more?
1. Sunnycide/Commander Shroob (Partners in Time)
Kind of a cop out, but they have the same problem; the two coolest bosses in the game, shot down by having waaaaaaay to much HP
Underrated
5. Cackletta (Superstar Saga)
Has some really good attacks (albeit easy to dodge) and has one that’s quite tricky; the lightning attack.
4. Elder Shrooboid (Partners in Time)
The first phase is subpar. The second phase is incredibly intense with the bomb thing from Hollijolli Village coming back.
3. King Boo (Paper Jam)
Has a bit of choose your difficulty within thanks to Paper Mario being captured and having to attack the Paper Boo holding him.
2. Dreamy Mario (Dream Team)
Interesting attacks, the doppelgänger effect, and Antasma’s inclusion in the fight. Need I say more?
1. Super Peach’s Castle (Bowser’s Inside Story)
Easily the best giant battle in the series. Giant Battles are not that great in either BIS or DT, but this fight hits every mark without being too difficult GIANT BOWSER, making you pass out FAWFUL EXPRESS, or being those lousy Papercraft battles. And it’s not so long like any of the DT battles either. Masterpiece in this department.
Good List :D
I changed from cheddar cheese into Apollo 7
Entirely ignoring the difficulty, Junker has a few issues. He seems to suck up Luigi a bit too often, which only leaves Mario. When it does end so soon, that’s not much of an issue, but when it doesn’t, you notice. Also his Thwomp attack goes on for a while. Still among my favorite bosses in that game, but certainly with flaws.
I mean you are right, i hate gyro controls! Also do you like the antasma/antasma X fights? Cuz i do!
can you rank every mario and Luigi RPG enemies in all of the games?
I think eventually but THATS SO HARD 🤣
Try your very best 👌
Omg I am so excited for this
Glad ya are :D
New subscribe goal for Shroob:5 thousand subscribers and Mario Plus Rabbids is in the channel🤣🤣just kidding, but for me it would be a great idea
At this point I just gotta beat the game first lol
@@ShroobInvader :)
I'm surprised you still have the patience to talk about the crappy Giant dreamy Bowser and Zeekeeper battles after doing so like ten times before lol
Eh at least this time I had something new to talk about lol
The underlevel part about BIS is because in the original its harder to level up compared to the remake it's easier to lvl up serious I got to lvl 40 in the remake
Fawful express the reason why it's hated well like you said its mostly because of the DS version because it uses the mic it doesn't 100% work all the time thats what makes it frustrating
Bro you deserve way more subscribers
Thanks man I appreciate it :D, hopefully I will lol
I can agree with the underrated fights being underrated, but the reasons for the others being “overrated” feel too personal or overall conflicting reasoning :/
Fair, some of those bosses at the overrated were HARD to pick because most just aren’t
Shroob, technically Mario Plus Rabbids is a Mario RPG, are you gonna make videos about it or is it not in your plans for the channel???
Uh, I might? I’ve never actually beaten the game, I’ve gotten close but never completely beaten it
@@ShroobInvader I have and it's easy, except the impossible quests, in that quests if I were you, I would choose Mario, Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Luigi
no way someone using footage of the bis remake
Well to be fair, the original is better, but the remake has a wider screen, so for videos it looks better lol
the falling star should have been impossible to get until the dark star area in bowser.
Also fawful express brings me bad memories so thats exactly why I hate it. In one of my videos i said it was my least favorite mario boss but I explained it horribly. i just said "this fricken boss has a timer kinda... kinda wish I didnt say that lol.
Lol, also yes I agree with that falling star placement a lot
I just think junker is a cool karakter and the dance made me laugh a lot as a child
Fair lol
I think fawful express was the most satisfying boss to defeat
That’s true, maybe also the end of dark bowser but Fawful express is definitely up there
When I was young. Swiggler gave me so much trouble.
the reason giant bowser is liked more then Zeekeeper is bowser motion controls doesn't go for the entire fight
I feel like cackletta is weaker than she should be due to her technically being the miniboss of the area, and popple n rookie (2) being the main boss of the area.
Also ngl i feel like nobody really talks about big masif all that much, cool gimmik based on his minions and cool attacks. Pi'illodium is a boss i also quite enjoyed too
I love both big massif (big agreement) and pilodium
I thought those bosses were good but not excellent, also fair but it’s cackletta for crying out loud, she should be very strong for her being the main villain of the game

Oh you know it lol, at least it was something different this time
@@ShroobInvader It never gets old.
I completely disagree with the number 4 overrated. Your reason for saying it’s overrated is that it has a motion control gimmick, and this other fight has a motion control gimmick and it’s hated. The difference is that for Giant Bowser, it is one bad attack in an otherwise great fight, but with the Zeekeeper, it is a bad attack in a bad fight. Both motion control gimmicks are the worst aspect of their respective fight, but whenever something is the worst part of something that isn’t good, it tends to be touted as the sole reason it’s bad. I think it’s more accurate to say that the Zeekeeper fight’s motion control attack is over hated, rather than saying that Giant Bowser is overrated.
After watching this video during bosses I will only be using normal attacks and not use any bros attacks. Just so I can experience the boss and see any attacks that I have not seen.
10:02
Wait was I under leveled for this fight? Or was it because of Luigi constantly getting shoved in the trash?
Interesting idea
it was very fun to make lol
BS the most overrated fight is Dark Bowser and the most underrated one is Dark Bowser
LOL
I don't really think there is many overrated bosses in this series so here is what I think are the most underrated & overrated bosses.
Underrated: Hoohooros. It's got an good gimmick with alright execution for Early Game SS
Overrated: The 1st Popple & Rookie fight. It's easy for the 5th boss, it's already over before 1/7th (maybe 1/8th) of the theme starts playing
Honorable Mentions (Underrated): King Bomb-omb. It's gimmick is terrifying in concept but can be cheesed easily.
Honorable Mentions (Overrated)
Cackletta. A close 2nd place & relatively easy for mid-game no matter the version
Dishonorable Mentions:
The Kamek Duo. I just find them underhated rather than overrated & it's my least favorite boss in the series if not any Mario RPG
Yeah wasn’t a fan of kamek duo either and good list
I actually liked the Kamek duo but I also can’t really remember the fight lol, also I agree with the first thing you said, I really don’t think that there are almost any overrated bosses
