    I'm really comfortable with my menstrual blood because of discs, but it will always be icky when you feel that warm/hot, sticky sensation of blood and clots all over your hand. Will never get used to that.

    Hi KIm!. First of all I want to thank you for your work, you are the one who gave me the push I needed to switch from disposable menstrual products to reusable ones a while ago and I have to say that my life has been easier since then, way cheaper too!. Secondly, I was one of the ones who requested this review in particular, so thank you again for it, I´m still on the fence between this disc and the hello disc though, living in Europe doesn´t leave you many options in menstrual discs choices without having to pay a huge amount of taxes but I know I will end up caving in in the end for one or the other.
    I know you hadn´t had the best time lately but I hope that you and your son are on the way to recovery. Thank you again though, for pushing through despite it all and always giving your 110%.

    Hey just wanted to drop by and say a quick thank you! I didn't know what menstrual discs were until I came across a video from your channel. I tried a cup a few years ago but couldn't get them to work for me because of my low cervix. But the disc worked perfectly in my first cycle. I'm from India and the options for discs here are limited but i think I found my perfect disc- it's a sort of hybrid of the Cora and the Hello disc. And I'm in love! So thanks once again Kim ❤❤

    I’m so glad you brought up rotating. I’m thinking of cutting off the second loop on my hello disc just to ease insertion. But sometimes I do struggle with removal since it rotates. Maybe I need to try the tuck method again. Was thinking this would be nice to try, but I would be VERY annoyed with the auto dumping. Anybody have any tips!?! Thanks Kim for all you do!

    • @heyzomi
      @heyzomi Před 10 měsíci +2

      Auto dumping depends on the person's body. It doesn't happy for every user using the Hey Zomi disc. It's quite subjective. Generally, a higher cervix and average to strong pelvic floor is very unlikely for auto dumping to occur. So it just depends 🤗

      It’s actually very easy to remove stains from silicone discs/cups with hydrogen peroxide, oxi-clean, or even washing soda. Just need to let them soak for a few hours at the end of your cycle, and then wash with a gentle soap (and rinse really well).

    Been using the Hello Disc since last cycle and it's comfy to wear throughout the day, but I find insertion pretty tricky and I could felt the firmness causing a bit of cramp after insertion. I'm still working on it but I'm interested in trying the Hey Zomi too! My only question would be is the white one going to stain easily and cause discoloration? I find white disc kind of interesting!

  • @JLF201
    @JLF201 Před 9 měsíci +3

    I might give this one a try. So far I've tried the disposable Soft Disc and the Hello disc.
    The disposable Soft Disc was easy to insert and remove and was comfortable, but it did come untucked unintentionally a couple of times (leak!) and did not automatically re-tuck after auto-dumping. I think perhaps the diameter might be a tad too big and that was causing the untucking.
    The Hello disc has not leaked or come untucked unintentionally so far (yay!). I do not need to re-tuck or adjust it in any way after auto-dumping, which is also nice. My complaint with the Hello disc is the thickness and stiffness of the rim for insertion and removal purposes. I currently have to use both hands to insert and remove it to keep it narrow through the vaginal opening.
    I think the Hey Zomi might work for me based on the above. If you have any ideas/suggestions, please let me know!

    Sorry i have questions regarding the use of a menstrual disc and idk who to ask so if you, or any other watcher of this channel, can answer me, it would help me so much.
    I watched all your videos as I was looking for a cheaper and environmentally friendly alternative to tampons, so i decided to buy a menstrual disc.
    I took your website’s test when choosing the disc and used your tutorials when inserting it, but i have only one issue, and i don’t see anybody talking ab it so idk what to do
    So I bought the lumma disc size S, & i inserted it correctly, because i checked and i tucked it properly behind the pubic bone, my cervix is inside it (i checked), i touched all the borders and its in place, the problem is the round part/“cup” part thats underneath the rim/border, it doesn’t open properly in the round shape, its like folded in itself a bit. This is my third change during this period, each time i tried with my finger to get it to open more, but it’s like when i create the eight shape during insertion, the cup part folds itself towards the inside following the eight shape i fold it in, and when i have put it in, it doesn’t expand/unfolds itself properly because the walls of the vagina from underneath kinda keep that space not “deep” enough and push it in itself. The only part that unfolds & permits the blood to be contained, is the part that has the vaginal canal below so there is no vaginal wall stopping it.
    I thought, as the blood would pour in, the weight of the blood would help the disc take the same shape it has when its outside the vagina, and therefore permit the full capacity of it, but it didn’t and instead the blood started getting out when the capacity of the “punched-in” (sorry idk in what way to describe it) shape was finished. I think it didnt even reach 1/3 of the capacity it’s supposed to have.
    Even from watching the video tutorials, it seems as if the vagina walls would shape themselves around the form of the disc, instead in my case it seems as if the walls and the insertion process are shaping the disc.
    So… anybody has any tips? Did i make a mistake in inserting it? Do i have the wrong size/disc and maybe another size, brand or type of disc would have fit me better?
    Also to give further context. I am a virgin, 21 years old, first time menstrual disc user and never used a menstrual cup, usually i use tampons, medium height cervix and i don’t have a tilted cervix. My flow is considered medium or light.
    The diameter/circumference of the lumma disc S seems to fit me as I comfortably tucked it behind the pubic bone and behind the cervix, the rim itself adhered well to the vagina walls, after each use i had to untuck the disc from behind the pubic bone so i dont think the issue was it slipped in my vaginal canal.
    Also i have been working in a standing position during the use, so it cannot be possible that the spill was caused by auto-dumping happening.
    It is also not a small spill, i had the disc in for 10 hours (the capacity is supposed to be 12 hours) & i had put a pad for safety reasons and the pad ended up full, so that’s a lot of blood that wasn’t contained. The disc wasnt even 1/5 full due to the folds.
    And my flow is not heavy, I usually change a tampon/pad every 8-10 hours during my heaviest day.
    I’m so confused if this is normal, and for discs, capacity-wise, i have to take into consideration the anatomy and depth of the upper part of the vagina where the disc sits…. or if instead the disc is supposed to unfold into its proper form…. somebody help plsss idk anybody irl who uses a disc so i cannot ask anybody around me! & sorry for the massive TMIs and detailed descriptions

    I have a question that I have been DYING to find out! With the menstrual cup I have used, I don't really like how it has felt, and it's quite uncomfortable with the pressure to my bladder and the constant urge to pee. So, I wanted to try menstrual discs. So if I need a soft menstrual cup, should I use a soft menstrual disc or just the regular firmness??

    • @MeepsNcheese
      @MeepsNcheese Před 8 měsíci

      I can answer this! It's really a "your mileage may vary" kind of moment, for some folks they do still feel bladder pressure with discs, some don't. It could also be a sizing issue as a lot of discs only come in one size (ie "one size fits most"), where some will offer bigger or smaller sizes depending on your needs. If you're not ready to fully commit to a reusable disc, they do sell disposable ones for cheaper if you wanted to do a trial run, and from there you can troubleshoot and compare with charts folks have online of different sizes, rim thickness, firmness and a variety of other disc aspects. Good luck!

    Hey I want to start off with saying that I absolutely love your work!🥰
    I have a few questions about menstrual discs:)
    A year ago I bought the Bamboozy disc in size M, 65mm diameter. I Have a high cervix and was very hard to insert and when it worked it was even harder to get it out. I’ve had several breakdowns in the bathroom because just couldn’t get a grip on it and trying with two fingers was so uncomfortable + i have long nails. I have been using an anti conception ring (54mm diameter) for 4 years without any problem now so I generally know how to insert it the right way behind the pubic bone. But most of the times the disc just wouldn’t seem to fit me after using force to put it behind the pubic bone.
    So even though my cervix is high, I think a smaller disc would fit me better? I was thinking about the Diva disc, do you recommend this one for me?
    And what disc do you recommend for people with long nails? Because I’ve tried a lot of ways in these 4 years with my ring but is is painful. discs like Cora and Saalt have a pocket so that the sharp edge of the nail won’t touch the vagina so I would think it will be less painful than with the Diva?
    And I live in Belgium, I found the Diva disc on the US site of Amazon, it says it ships to Belgium, will it work since the Diva site doesn’t allow it yet?
    Thank you so much!!❤️😊

      For period suppression, seek professional medical advice. Different methods come with their own risks of side effects, though breakthrough/unexpected bleeding seems to be the most common.
