It wasn't uncommon for people to have to flee in such circumstances. In Wexford after the 1798 rebellion there was a clear out of people who fought in the rising. If they were caught they would be hanged. You'll find descendants of these Wexford people all over North America, Argentina, Chile, Australia and some in South Africa.
For those that do not know, they mentioned Parnell, so, always worth mentioning. The money in politics has always been a bit gross, and the English side of the Parnell's on a branch, were passing down wealth until the year 2000-ish, where one of them gifted the castle to a college, and the American side, passed money from descendent to descendent until about the year 2000, as well, where the last million dollar inheritance was split between cousins, at about 100K each. It's not just today, there has always been a gross amount of wealth in politics. Money is gone on both sides now. Easy come, easy go.

Won’t belong before there will be a vote in Northern Ireland to join the Republic, maybe following a Scottish indy vote. Then it’s just England and Wales!
Class tune 👌👍🍀🇮🇪
Come out you black and tans..my father sang this song ..my mother told me stories about how bad the black and tans were I still remember her stories 💚👍🎶🎻
they were a force for good, irish at home betrayed their fellow irishmen when they were at war how would you feel towards these gangs when you got back home and instead of being treated like a veteran you were refused to eat or shop at places you used to, all because you fought nazism??
No one had fought Nazism at the time of the Irish civil war , you cabbage .
@@shooterblaze1 Do you really have no idea about history? Or are you just pretending to be stupid?

THE QUEEN IS DEAD. LONG LIVE IRELAND
Proud to be Irish🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Proud to have grown up in Queens with the Irish Rebs. Sinn Fein my precious ones. After the 2014 Ukrainian coup- more than ever.
Half Irish half English understand the drive to be completely independent

That’s a great song wolf tones 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Lucky Ireland Must Have Their Northern Ireland Back! 🍀🍀🍀🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🏴🏴🏴
That was the most waffled comment I have ever read you said we need Northern Ireland back when we already do sadly and the you put ivory coast flags and the put English flags like what!
KittyShea First of all, North Of Ireland* second of all, that’s the Ivory Coast flag third of all, why put the English flag?
Ireland may get Northern Ireland back, some of the places in the United Kingdom don’t like brexit
Come out you black and tans fight me like a man
Some days certain songs are a bit sweeter than normal
give her grave the maggy thatcher treatment lmao
Brilliant! ❤️
Martin Brennan Brought Me Here. 😂.. Dan I Don Waaant No Tortoise.
Just to think if the famine never happened I'd still be there , millions of us would still be there . It would have been a lot different in that case
St. Patrick's day probably wouldn't be as celebrated as much across the world, less Irish immigrants to import their traditions
As would I. Strange to think about.
It wasn't a famine, it was genocide. You can blame England for that too.
To say that there was a famine in wrong. The British were shipping food out of Ireland. Those people were starved to death to enrich the wealthy of the empire. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Famine_(Ireland)#Food_exports_during_Famine
This kind of thing happened all over the British Empire until it dissolved. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Bengal_famine_of_1770 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943
@David McConville and dont forget Irish americans (many who served in the us military) came back home to fight in the risings. The Irish unlike any other race keep out heritage and our love for the land of our familes i was raised by irish immagrant grand parents and they tought me to keep my heart Irish and never forget thats why i was sent every year to stay with family in Belfast
Im so lucky to be Irish
I'm very patriotic to the uk but I strongly respect those who fought against oppression by the empire
Because you're a nonce.
it wasnt oppression...
If you are patriotic to the UK but are against the empire what are you celebrating?
@@Fanon1916 the empire was the best thing to happen the planet in the past 400 years

Love it
Love the beat and sur its funny ❤
My favourite song
Great tune. 👍
outstanding
It was whispered among my family that my great-grandfather took his foot in hand and got the hell out of Ireland after killing two of John bull's finest.
It wasn't uncommon for people to have to flee in such circumstances. In Wexford after the 1798 rebellion there was a clear out of people who fought in the rising. If they were caught they would be hanged. You'll find descendants of these Wexford people all over North America, Argentina, Chile, Australia and some in South Africa.
shows Zulus charging the British like chads
The Irish has every right and respect for self determination! Hopefully one day, Ireland may be united under one Ire flag.
stick to the things your brain could handle, there will be violence if the south tries to take the north
Good luck with that. Northern Ireland voted to remain in the UK.
@@rabbidcrazy787
Yes a very legit vote not covered in fraud just like the Scottish vote for independence.
@@rabbidcrazy787these things take time, we'll see.
@@Robbikelly It's been 50 years since they voted to remain in the UK. I don't think much has changed.
I'm English but I can sympathise 🇨🇮🇨🇮
For those that do not know, they mentioned Parnell, so, always worth mentioning. The money in politics has always been a bit gross, and the English side of the Parnell's on a branch, were passing down wealth until the year 2000-ish, where one of them gifted the castle to a college, and the American side, passed money from descendent to descendent until about the year 2000, as well, where the last million dollar inheritance was split between cousins, at about 100K each. It's not just today, there has always been a gross amount of wealth in politics. Money is gone on both sides now. Easy come, easy go.
The only reason Parnell was "persecuted" was because he was shagging a married English women and got caught with his trousers down.
What our wonderful leaders had ordinary men do to the Irish in the past was despicable!
lmao
Troll .
@@jimmytgoose476Not sure why you should accuse me of being a troll (I don't live under a bridge and eat goats or turn to stone in daylight).
